To start, I am a huge New Balance fan. I own several pair of New Balance running, trail and hiking shoes. The MC782 are amazingly comfortable right out of the box and, I'd say, nice looking. I'm just not sure they're great for fast-paced tennis. The design has your foot sitting rather high up in the shoe, reducing the support on lateral movement. In fact, twice while playing with these shoes, my foot has literally come out of the shoe! I've never had that happen before (ever, in years of playing) and the shoe was snugly tied at the time and even after sitting there on the court. I think the quick exit is due to the foot sitting so high. Overall, if you want a shoe that's comfortable to wear and walk in, this would be a good one. Cutting and fast front to back movement, I'm not so sure.

Great service, delivery time, selection. I don't know how they make any money, unless we should all be in the shoe business. I have bought all of my shoes there for the last 2 years and will continue to.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: I am a NEw Balance snob, being a Boston product and all, and they fit perfectly

As always, New Balance shoes make a difference. They are really nice & confortable. I use them to walk 3 miles 4 times every week. I have been using New Balance for a long time and yes, I will buy them again and again. Also, Zappos provides such an excellent customer service that any return is just a pleasure. Good Luck!

Not bad. My first pair of real tennis shoes. They are a little stiffer than my normal Asics running shoes but in tennis I guess that is what you need. The cushioning is not too bad and the weight is perfect for a tennis shoe - heavy enough for balance and stability and light enough to get around the court. The grey scuff pads on the front of the shoe are perfect for my big feet and getting around the court without worrying about my toes.

The 781 was a great shoe—making its demise a certainty of course. I ordered the 782 thinking it was the next logical step, you know, "2" follows "1." Anyway, I liked the "1" better—there was something very soft and comfortable about it, though I felt it also offered support. This one seems firmer, though it may need to be broken in. Bottom line: this is a good shoe and you won't be disappointed unless, like me, you like your tennis shoes white. These look a little too much like a pair of Asics running shoes I have, but that's just me. One caveat, though: My 781 was a perfect-fitting size 10. I had to return the 782's (Zappos return policy is, of course, painless) and go up a half size for a still-somewhat snug fit.
