This is a wonderful sandal. My feel are very hot and these shoes provide me additional coolness plus the wonderful benefits from the structure of the MBT shoe.

These are an unusual sandal, a rounded bottom that you have to learn to walk on. They are also a bit heavy and they'll increase your height about 2 inches. That said, they are wonderful to walk on (once you get used to them), and very well made. They look like they will last a long time, and they require no break-in time. I have a condition called "metatarsalgia," a lack of fat between the metatarsal bones in the ball of the foot and the skin. This makes extended walking painful for me, and MBT shoes take much of the pressure off that area to concentrate it toward the center of the foot. I find walking with these shoes to be much more comfortable than regular shoes. Again, they would not be good for someone with balance issues, or for the elderly. But, I wear them (as well as MBT shoes everyday,) and they have provided me with a very comfortable walking experience.

Takes a little getting used to but once accustomed these are absolutely wonderful. MBT is fast becoming my shoe of choice.

This is my husband's second pair of this type of sandal. They are extremely comfortable once you get used to walking in them. They are a constant stretching of your foot as we were told by a foot specialist.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: The gym shoe is also very confortable along with the dressier style shoes.

I just love my mbt shoes and sandals.
I own a pair of mbt shoes that I use for my daily 3+ mile walks and as my daily shoe. While they took a week or so to get used to, I love them now. I used to have problems with my lower back and sciatica problems after my walks--no more with mbt. I bought the sandals which I wear around the house. I will probably buy a third pair soon. The only negative is the high price.

Since I have very long legs and my calves are 17.5 at the widest, I read all the reviews carefully before ordering. I finally did get them in the tan, size 11, and was thrilled that they really did reach to my knee! On the other hand, the reviews were right. . .the calf part is extremely wide. Not just that, but, as in the photo, it bulges out where the calf shape would be and looks really unattractive. I took them to a local boot repair shop where the owner was able to make a seam down the back and cover it with the leftover leather for $50. Now they look great and fit me perfectly. They are comfortable and I can easily slip my feet in, even with no zipper. If you always have trouble finding boots long and wide enough and you don't mind adding some more cost to get a custom fit (and have someone local who can do that for you) then these are a good choice.

I used to be unable to stand in long lines for hours at a time without getting lower back pain. Now I could stand for days and still feel great. I just keep rocking in my new sandals and nothing hurts. And as always Zappos did great, got my shoes really quick at no extra charge!

Amazing sandal - This is truly a product that lives up to the hype. They say it will make you walk more because it is fun and because it will strengthen your legs. Well it does!!! They take a day or two to get used to, but it is well worth the investment of time. I LOVE these sandals. Very comfortable and you can feel them working your calves and thighs as you walk effortlessly! I also have the MBT sneakers and plan to live, depending on the weather, in one or the other forever!!! I honestly cannot say enough about how great these are!

MBTs have been wonderful for my posture. Like my old Tai Chi instructor used to say, "If the feet are wrong, everything's wrong." The slight instability and roll strengthen all those little muscles in your feet that atrophy in regular shoes on flat pavement. Fix them by giving them a regular workout and everything above them starts to line up, posture wise.
The squishy heel strike is like brand new Crocs, except squishier. Doesn't seem to be flattening out with wear. Very comfortable. The rolling of the rocker sole design also makes walking less jarring.
I wear 'em with socks, German tourist style. If the fashion police haven't busted you for your Birkenstocks or your Crocs yet, you'll be fine with these.
Sizing: I'm an 11.5 EEE and these things fit me great in an 11.5 medium. Usually I have to go up to a 12 in most shoes. I've also got the MBT '08 walker and the MBT fisherman's sandals. 11.5 in those too.
