Mold problem! My husband has had these for months now and he loves them. He is an RN who works 12 hour shifts in a busy emergency room. Prior to MBT\'s he had problems with plantar fasciitis in both heels and the MBT\'s have really allowed him to overcome that problem while relieving the pain as they take the weight off the heel. For this reason he will continue to wear MBT\'s for work. Because this style is solid leather and the liners are foam (plastic?) they do get damp after a 12 hour shift. After awhile, we started smelling mold when he took these shoes off so he took the liners out to wash them and there was black mold growing under them! After removing the mold, he now takes the liners out after every wearing and washes them at the end of the work week. We have notified the company about this problem.

I got these for my husband after having MBT's myself for a few years and loving them. He works as an RN in a very busy emergency room for 12 hour shifts 1 week on with 1 week off but gets called in on many days off so he needs all the foot comfort he can get from his shoes! He also has plantar fasciitis in both feet. He was a stubborn skeptic at first and didn't see how wearing a 'weird' looking shoes would help but I insisted he try them anyway. At first he insisted they were no more comfortable than his favorite Keen's and for awhile he alternated between wearing the MBT's and Keen's. It's been a year now and he has two styles of MBT's, wears them every day and swears by them!

Great Once Warn In -
My second MBT shoe. They are as comfortable as the other. A bit high on one ankle bone for me, but a little wear and I'm good. This shoe's front has a european look--so make sure you're comfortable with that. But for anyone on their feet a lot, who needs rocker-bottom soles (as I do), this is a great shoe.

An extraordinary MBT for dress comfort -
This is my third MBT as they have become the only shoe I am wearing. I had a knee injury and find these shoes most therapeutic. Their deep cushioning helps absorb shocks on the knees from hard surfaces. These are very suitable for work were business casual is the style.

Big Upside/Small downside -
After car accident with compression injuries, saved by seatbelt, three surgeries, total hip replacement. Painful, arthritic, collapsed foot. Required orthotic. Wife bought this shoe, walked 4-5 N.Y. miles/day/5 days. Upside: pain free. Downside: had to buy more shoes and sandals!

Love my MBT's -
I absolutely love my MBT's. I have heel spurs and plantar fasciitis in both feet and have suffered horrible foot pain. I have been wearing my MBT's for 4 days now and can already tell a difference!! They are awesome!!!

Size at least 1/2 too large -
I did not appreciate either how "roomy" the 13M (my size for other MBT's) of how low the laces would be placed for ankle stability. This is an around the office shoe not for any serious walking. Unfortunately give the price.

My 1st MBT Evaluation -
These are the shoes I should have found years ago. Perhaps if I had, I may not have had to undergo a bi-lateral total knee replacement. In any case, they are great on the knees, even with artificial knees. I can walk great distances now. Do you make an MBT golf shoe as well?

I know shoes!
Where to begin
well, first off the leather is very soft. The bottom of the shoe has great traction, but I find that the edges tend to wear down just a little faster. Don't get me wrong, the sole is great for traction, but I wish they would have gone to a different material
something more durability. Compared to the MBT shoes I had 2 years ago, they have improved them. I get a lot of compliments about them.

Great shoe. Took about a day to get use to sole configuration. Will become an everyday wear shoe!

Can't Stand Still!
So far, I like my MBT Karanis, but I find it impossible to stand still in them. Due to the design of the sole, one is always rocking back and forth while trying to stand still. I have to grab onto a hand hold when trying to stand stationary.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: Other MBTs obviously...
