Cankles!
Ok, so these are very grippy and warm, but they do not seem that they would be waterproof. Also, the toe box is very narrow, and the ankle very wide. Even with the laces pulled tight, these boots gave me cankles! If appearance and style aren't an issue for you, then these are the boots for you.

Incredible and durable winter/rain boots!
When I was planning my trip to Europe (during the winter season) I realized I needed to buy durable all-weather boots. After extensive research I settled on the Sebago Snug High in black. I traveled to Ireland and Scotland where it rained constantly. Since I was backpacking I only took one pair of shoes for the entire trip.
These boots are truly incredible! They sustained the rainy weather and my socks never got wet! I walked on these shoes every day for 11 days and my feet were comfortable. When I received them they felt a bit narrow but they naturally stretched to fit my feet. I have a bit of a high arch so I did purchase arch support insoles for the trip. However, now that I am back I wear them without insoles for rainy days in San Francisco.
There are a few things to look out for: 1) the brown does not look the same in person. My friend ordered these boots in brown but she loved the earthy brown 2) if you have wide feet order the boots half a size larger 3) do a double knot because the suede lace keeps untying otherwise.
Overall, I am very happy and highly encourage buying these boots if you are looking for weather proof, comfortable and stylish boots.

Very attractive shoes, but it's called "snug" for a reason!
Overall, these are some fantastic boots! They have a quality, substantial feel without being too heavy. The boot is COMPLETELY lined with very soft, high-quality sheepswool shearling and the insert is covered in a polyester fleece that blends right in with the shearling lining. The Vibram outsole, which is made from a supple, sticky rubber is *absolutely* nonslip and is perfect for icy sidewalks. My only complaint about this boot is that the toe box is extremely narrow. I don't have clunkers for feet, but my toes feel the tiniest bit crammed. I'll live with it. The boot itself runs a little narrow down the footbed (I have narrow feet and it fits me perfectly), so people who have wide feet should look to other boots. Because of the shearling, this boot is meant to be worn with thin socks - so when you try it on don't wear thick ones. I would also recommend getting a half size larger than marked, as this boot does run small. For the colors, I first ordered and subsequently returned the brown since it is NOT a reddish brown like the picture shows but is actually more of a cocoa brown. I had the "Lavender Mist" sent and the color shown on the picture is true to the color that the boots actually are.
