Excellent shoes; I'm a walker, living in Wyoming. I have a heel spur that I'm trying to fix on my own by buying decent shoes such as these. I have the Vasque Mantra as well as their tennis shoes; both work well in the cold and snow as far as comfort and traction.

I spent a long time looking for the perfect shoes for traveling/hiking. Finally, I found these! They are shoe-like enough for daily wear, but are also great for hiking. I needed absolutely no break-in time with them. The second time wearing them, I climbed the highest peak in the UK. After 3 hours of downhill, my feet were feeling the impact, so I wouldn't recommend these for regular heavy hiking, but they'll do when travelling. I ordered a 1/2 size larger than I normally wear, and they fit well.

Great Day Hiking Shoe -
Absolutely recommend this shoe for long day hikes. I hiked the Multnomah Falls trail outside of Portland, Oregon and experienced no break in needed. Great support and super traction on our damp and slippery trails.

Comfortable right out of the box. Haven't tried them in nasty weather yet, but I'm confident they will perform up to my high expectations. Not heavy, but substantial enough for my moderate hiking needs. Looks good. I wear a 9 and this doesn't look huge(like other boots I've worn).
