This is my first pair of cowboy boots and I was a little nervous about buying a half size smaller but having read all the reviews and seeing that almost everyone had suggested it I did buy a half size smaller and I’m so glad I did. They fit perfectly. I think if I had chosen my right size then they would have been too big. This is the most comfortable pair of boots/shoes I have ever owned and I wish I had been wearing these years ago!
I get so many compliments on the look of the boots too.
I was only in the states for a week and I ordered my boots on Sunday night at 11pm and they arrived Thursday and this was to Alaska! Thanks Zappos!

New Boot Goofin'
I purchased these boots for my daughter in her regular size. They were very snug initially, but broke in easily within a week. As a college student she walks a great deal and wears her boots regularly. She is extremely pleased with the comfort and fashion.

Best-ever boots! These were the first cowboy boots I have owned since being 14 years old & they TOTALLY rock -- very comfortable, very little "break-in time" and they did as virtually every other review I read before purchasing: stretch within an hour of wearing to a very nice fit. I encourage buying a half-size smaller than you usually would.

So fun -- and surprisingly comfortable!
After reading other reviews, I ordered a 5.5 instead of my usual 6. At first, I was dubious as I struggled a bit to get them on, but once I did they felt pretty good. And after a few wearings, I could even slip them on and off quickly enough so as not to embarrass myself in airport security! They are also more comfortable than most pointy shoes on my bunion. And I love the look -- of course terrific with jeans but it's nice to show the beautiful stitching and color with a skirt too. All in all, I love 'em!

Great value!
I own several pairs of Ariat mules and two other pairs of boots besides these. The Western Heritage J is very comfortable. I'm a teacher and on my feet all day. These are very comfortable. I found the sizing to be true. This boot is very stylish and a great value too!

I would purchase anything from Zappos!
This was my first time purchasing footwear from a website! Finding a shoe, much less a boot, with a good fit is hard to accomplish even shopping store to store and trying on multiple pairs of shoes! However, I read the excellent reviews of the shoes/boots that were purchased from Zappos and combined with free shipping and free returns, how could I go wrong? I made the purchase around noon on a Monday and received my boots at 3pm on Tuesday...the next day!! The boots were tight to pull on (I read that you should order a half size smaller than what you normally would wear) but once they were on my feet, the fit was perfect! Room in the heel and they are very comfortable to wear! I love the boots; they get noticed quite a bit! They are breaking in so nicely that it is very easy to slide on an off. (I wear them at least 4 times a week to "break them in"). Thank you, Zappos for your quick delivery of a fine product!

The winners -
My daughter convinced me, after listening to me rave about her Frye boots, that I had to get some cowboy boots for myself, and the place to do it was Zappos. After finding NOTHING anywhere else around Seattle, I found so many great pairs on your website that I ended up ordering 4 pairs. The two ARIATS were tops for fitting my narrow heel and wider toe, and their comfort and support are unequaled. Following advice to put them on without socks first, I was able to wriggle into them, and they were comfortable enough to wear all day the first day. They are SO beautiful; everyone notices them and talks to me about them. It's unbelievable, but those pointy toes are comfortable and look so great with jeans, dressier pants and even dresses and skirts.

Cowboy boot virgin -
First of all, can I say a few words about how amazing Zappos is? I am an occasional customer, but each and every time I am stunned with the outstanding level of service. I order my shoes one day, and I get them the very next!
This is my first pair of western boots, and they're soo cute. I got the mocha/hickory color scheme, and it looks great with jeans. The leather is good quality; haven't had the time to wear them into the ground, but I have a feeling these will take their place as a wardrobe standard and last a long time. I usually wear a. 8.5-9, so got an 8.5 and so far it feels good. The tooling detail on the leather really makes this boot look more expensive than it is. Love them!

Great boot -
I absolutely love this boot and the detail. I went back and forth on the sizing though. I wear a 9.5 which felt like it fit but then I read the reviews that talked about how hard the boot is to get on but then it stretches after a couple hours. The 9.5 was very easy to get on so I thought it was too big. Got the size 9 which was definitely harder to get on, but I was afraid it was too tight...your toes aren't supposed to go to the end of this boot. So after debating over and over I finally stuck with the 9.5. It fits great - the only time I have difficulty is going up stairs when the heel slides a bit. Very comfortable otherwise and can wear all day long.

Best boots ever!
I had been wanting a new pair of boots and looked far and wide to find a quality made pair at a reasonable price. I loved the design and after reading the other positive reviews, I bought these. I did buy a half size smaller than usual, and they fit perfectly. I didn't experience any slippage and I have barely taken them off since I got them! As usual, Zappos amazes me with shipping. I ordered after 5pm west coast time and had them the next morning!

Just Awesome -
I usually wear a size 8, but I could tell that the 8 was too big immediately after I put on the boots. I exchanged for a size 7.5, which fits perfectly. The boot is gorgeous and extremely comfortable to wear. I placed my order at 9 PM on a Monday night and the boots were delivered the very next day! Incredible service! I will continue to shop at Zappos and will recommend the site to all of my friends!

My 2nd pair of Ariat cowboy boots. I have to go a size down (usually wear an 8-8.5) but the 7.5 fits perfect. They are VERY snug when you first get them, like new jeans, but just wiggle in them and within the hour that fit your foot wonderfully. Great for a narrow-ish foot (heel will grip) and I have narrow calves; fits well. Lots of comments on this unique looking boot. By far, one of the most comfortable shoes I own ... can stand on my feet all day and walk in them. Love 'em!

The tooled leather looks awesome with jeans or skirts...Ariat’s are always comfortable, and these are no exception. A little stiff at first, they have softened up nicely. I usually wear Ariat clogs, but I like these just as much as the slip-ons.

I love the boots. The colors are great and it looks like a more expensive boot. I had to order the next larger size because I had a hard time putting them on. Friends told me that's to be expected with cowboy boots.

Beautiful and comfortable -
I normally wear a 10, sometimes a 9 1/2. With these I went with 9 1/2--which felt really really tight at first, but now feels perfect. The ten just felt a bit "floppy" after a few hours wear. Even though they were tight, they were not uncomfortable and I never got blisters. They are perfect now, comfortable and so gorgeous.

I *heart* these boots!
Fit: I've had about 10 pairs of cowboy boots (Tony Lama, Justin, etc) and these are by far the MOST comfortable boots I've ever worn. I have a very high instep so I ordered half a size larger than my normal shoe size. When I first put them on they were very snug across the instep and snug in the arch. I kept them on, doing stuff around the house and in about 15 minutes the insole had formed completely to my foot and now they fit perfectly. How's that for "break-in" time?
Construction: I like the fact that the outsole and heel are "duratread" (as the description says), so I don't have to worry about getting leather soles wet and possibly slipping and/or eventually warping the boot.
Style: One word -- GORGEOUS. Okay, two -- Gorgeous and SEXY! An amazing looking boot for the money. Looks like a much more expensive boot than it is. The tooled leather and embroidery are beautiful; every detail perfect.
Zappos service: Outstanding. I wanted these boots for a Sat. night party, ordered them around 11 am on Thurs. and they arrived about 25 hours later. This has been the best online shopping experience I've ever had.
Thanks Zappos for swift, accurate service. Thank you Ariat for a comfy, beautiful, very wearable boot. Remember if you get these and they feel tight in the instep & arch, wear them for a while and give them a chance to conform to your foot -- then go out and knock 'em dead in your stunning new boots!

Tight at first, but keep trying!
I too found the fit tight across the top at first - it probably took me about 5 minutes to get my heel to the bottom of the right boot! But my persistence paid off - after wearing them around inside for only an hour or so they loosened up nicely. Very good fit after that. Beautiful boot too - I got the mocha/hickory and the tooled leather is gorgeous.

Lovin' life in Ariat -
Ariat size 7.5 fits me to a tee on all my other Ariat shoes. On this boot, it fit a BIT on the tighter side at first -- I guess due to the double layer of leather on the front of the shoe -- but it's leather and it will loosen up with wear. A great shoe and looks fantastic with jeans... Love 'em, love 'em, love 'em.
