I feel comfartable whn i use New Balance shoe when i play tennis\r\n\r\nI am required to wear WIDE SHOE and New Balance has more choice

This is my second pair of 654's, used for squash they have held up better than other models that I have tried. They were comfortable from day one. I will definitely purchase again when I go through this pair.

Good basic running shoe -
Good, comfortable basic running shoe. Seems to run a little bit narrower in the toe box than other New Balance shoes I've had.

Performance/design deficiency !!!
The new 654 is a downgrade from the prior 65X and 64X series of tennis shoes. Some rocket scientist removed the metal grommets from the holes and the hole just below the top (runner's knot) whole tears out within about a month. I got a replacement and the same thing started within the first week, without even playing a match. New Balance has been a good provider for years. Very sad to see the slip in attention to product quality. 1003's also have a design deficiency. Thin rear outside sole that after a few hard matches will land you on your rear as slick plastic comes in contact with the court.

Bought these to replace New Balance 653, which are no longer available. Was very pleased to find that they fit just as well as the previous model.

Too heavy for tennis -
Fits comfortably, looks good, but to heavy for tennis. Will tire your feet when playing tennis for more than one hour. I would have returned if I had not used them.

I've been wearing New Balance athletic shoes exclusively for years. I'm 6' 9", 250, size 14D, and need shoes that can support me properly. These do so, and look great at the same time. The shoes have just enough accent color to make them look nice without being flashy. The fit was only slightly snug when I first put them on, but they stretched to a perfect fit after a few days. I bought these shoes in white with navy trim for casual wear with jeans. I've never had to return a pair of NB shoes for any reason, and they have a long wear life.

Wide feet means buy New Balance -
Great shoes. I have wide feet and a high arch, and these are the only tennies that feel great and last a long time to boot.

Everything I Expected -
I bought these shoes to actually PLAY TENNIS. I wanted a shoe that performed well, was comfortable, and would last. This is what I received with this shoe and the style and good looks were an added bonus.

Very good Tennis shoe -
I purchased this shoe for the tennis season, and I have been very happy with it. It has very good grip on a hard court, which allows me to be able to change directions better that other shows that I have tried.

The first few days, I wore these shoes indoors because they felt a little stiff initially. They broke in beautifully on the 3rd day and have been extremely comfortable ever since. New Balance shoes always provide enough support for playing sports or walking while enough width to accommodate my wide feet. I'm a NB customer for life. Zappos initially sent me the incorrect size, but the free return shipping was no hassle and a few weeks later (once my size was in stock), I had my new shoes.

 |  | I can't thank you enough! I have always had a difficult time finding comfortable shoes because I have a very narrow foot. I now have a medical foot issue that has progressed to the point of needing to replace nearly all of my shoes with relatively flat, well-made (translation: expensive) shoes to enable me just to walk without excessive pain. Needless to say, it is difficult to know immediately if a given shoe will both fit my narrow foot and not cause a great deal of pain after an hour of wear. Your free-return policy has been a true blessing to me. It is not easy to spend $170.00 on a pair of shoes that may hurt my feet after an hour and be unwearable if those shoes cannot be returned easily. The specialty shoe store in my area is great, but they offer a limited selection and any special orders can only be returned with a 15% restocking fee. Other online shoe stores require me to pay the return shipping fee and cannot begin to match the customer service that you provide. This can get costly and time consuming when one has the type of issues I have and needs to replace an entire wardrobe of shoes with well-built shoes. I have to say, even if I did not have foot issues, Zappos would be my shoe store for the selection and great customer service alone. Additionally, you offer such quick shipping, the best customer service I have found in as long as I can remember and great selection. I am incredibly happy that I was told about Zappos. You have simplified this part of my life, and believe me, with my foot pain, that is a very large part of my life. I have written other thank you notes to Zappos as well, but I wanted to send a special note of thanks for the quick shipping. I will continue to rave about Zappos to friends and family!
