A little large for me...
I usually judge my shoe size based on my Chuck Taylors, which fit perfectly at size 9. Traditionally Chucks are a half size smaller, so that would make me a 9.5. I ordered these in 9 based on other reviews stating they were a little small. Well, I found the 9's to be too big. The width was great, but they were too long. Otherwise these boots are great. They do look a little more silver/grey when you actually get them, but that's because they have a worn look. I returned mine, but I'll probably try to get a smaller pair sometime soon.

This boot has the look and profile that I was looking for. However, after going to a show and standing up for three hours and then the car ride home, my feet were a bit sore. My impression: It's great for a night out but not to wear all the time.

Awesome shoes, great style -
I agree that the "black" is more silver/grey but I love these shoes. I bought them for a costume but wear them all the time. They are super comfortable and look amazing.

Good for Halloween -
Don’t be fooled, the black is silver and the brown is gold. These boots are styled well but the colors are whack. Neither pair worked out for me. The leather looks cheap which makes them end up looking like costume shoes. Bummer.

They sent the wrong color and size!
I ordered black and received gray, and they sent the wrong size, but lo and behold, it fit like a glove! I highly recommend this boot IF you can afford it. Perfect for walking, perfect on my motorcycle, just the wrong color...

Great Looking Boot but Needs Insole -
I get compliments on these boots all the time and they have a very nice fit. The only problem is that the insole is rather flat so it would be wise to put in a Dr. Scholl's or something.

Great boot -
The look is great. I have the brown version, and the weathering looks natural. Those with the black ones said they appeared more silver than they expected, but the brown looks exactly like the picture.
The outer dimensions are smaller than I imagined, it's not a big clompy boot. If you wear with long pants it looks like a tight leather shoe.
Soles are comfy, and very flexible, but too thin for my taste. I have pretty sensitive feet, so I put insoles in almost all my shoes.
The leather is very supple and stretches to fit my feet well, I'm a little wide. After only the second wearing, it's broken in significantly.
You'd probably do well to go half or a full size larger than your usual shoe, it's a snug fit.

Honestly, I think I would have felt alright paying about $300 dollars for these shoes. They are beautiful, and even when they start getting a little bit scuffed, it doesn't look out of place. They are comfortable, stylish, and easy to put on... really worth it.

Unique and Comfy Boot -
Believe me, I searched high and low for a similar style when these were out of stock (which was a while) and there isn't much that didn't cost well over $300. These garner regular attention while not being over the top. Hopefully Type Z can keep up production in the future. As always, Zappos customer service is second to none. After making every experience I've had with them right, they will get my business because even if they aren't the cheapest, they are by far the best value.

Very nice for the $$
Very nice boot. I strayed away from the black because most reviews here said they look more silver. I was a little worried the brown would be different than pictured. Once they showed up they were very close to the pictured color. Maybe a little lighter. Super soft and comfortable. I wear a 10.5 normally but went with a 10 since there are no half sizes and they fit just fine.

Black is not Black -
I bought these boots today and opening them up the color was nothing near what is pictured here for the black boots. They are a gray/silver color. For me that was enough to send them back sadly. If they looked like the picture these boots would be awesome, they are very comfortable.

I love this boots -
Although the boots look more silvery than I expected, I still love it. It has a distress look and reminds me of the boot house. It’s very comfortable. Fast shipment. I wish it came with extra dark shoe laces.

Awesome boot, but picture did not represent color well -
These boots are just about perfect. Great style, great price, already broken in and feel better than any other boot I've had on. The BIG problem is that my boots arrived looking more silver then black! I sadly sent them back to Zappos, if only they looked as black as the boot in the picture.

COOLEST EVER!
Same story! Looked forever for this type of boot. Found them and they were on my feet less than 24 hours later! So FAST! With an insole, they fit perfect, but some may think of ordering a size smaller as they seemed to run a little on the larger side of my size (42). I have ordered another pair, but size 41 this time. I love them! Thanks Zappos!!!

PERFECT!!!
I purchased these boots after months of searching for this style. I ordered them on Saturday night and received them Monday morning. They are exactly what I was looking for. The leather is so soft and has that worn/broken in look. They are not stiff at all. Actually they feel more like a sneaker. I highly recommend them.

Type Z are for woman, too!!
I bought these for my daughter's birthday-she has not taken them off since she got them. They look cool-they are super comfortable and that fact that they zip up is such a bonus. She put an insert in for warmth as it is winter here in Iowa. Zappos is the best-we love it!!!

These boots came with leather so soft that there was no break-in period. They seem to be made very well. I love the liner! These have an old fashion chimney-sweep type look to them while still remaining modern. I love them!

I ordered 2 pairs of shoes last night around 9, and received them at my office before noon the next day!!!
