Things to keep in mind to "Whistler" a happy tune -
I think I was one of the first people to find Keen's. And I've converted a lot of my friends into wearing them. I prefer the Providence shoe. As I am always on my feet, they are a joy to wear. The Whistler was fantastic too. Just do yourself a favor-get a half size smaller than you would normally wear. When they break in at your normal size (I have a wide foot) they will be slightly too big. Otherwise they will be very comfortable. I have found Keen's to last about 6 months, before I need new ones.

Good Keens -
I'm a huge fan of my Keen sandals and was looking forward to a winter shoe from them. Pros: Tough shoes--very solid construction. Decent looks for a slip-on. Awesome soles--fairly stiff, but with a little give and cushion and great grip (people always praise flexible soles, but that is not what your feet want. They want a solid platform). Warm--wool-lined. Cons: Fit was tough for me to dial in. I have low-volume feet (that is, bony and low arches), and even though the length was right on the Whistlers I got, I could fit a full finger between the top of my foot and the shoe. Thick socks only partially addressed the problem, and they crowded my toes. My eventual fix was to put a pair of my Superfeet insoles under the wool-covered insoles that come with the Whistlers, and I also put in a pair of those tongue pads you can buy at shoe repair stores. I'm very happy with the resulting fit, but it took some doing and well over 20 bucks of extra stuff to get that fit. So, if you've got meaty feet, you should do great with these shoes, but low-volume people will need to do some work. (Note to Keen: any way to address this issue in a new model?) A last note on fit, I found these identical in size to my Keen Newport sandals, but I wear those barefoot, so the Whistlers are actually just on the verge of being too small. You might want to order a half size up if you know your Keen sandal size.

Awesome Keens for my Hard Working Hubbie!!!
These shoes are so wonderful for my husband to work in He is a nurse and on his feet a lot during the day so these shoes are the only ones he wears now Please make this style for women though because I want a pair for myself. Remember to always buy at least a whole size bigger than you usually wear!

Awesome fit as with all Keens -
These shoes feel great and are very easy to slip on and off. They're made for cold weather, so they're warmer than normal.

Keen Whistler -
I bought 2 pairs of these shoes, one for my Dad, the other for my husband. They both said that they were the most comfortable shoes that they have ever worn. Although, my dad said they are ugly, he will wear them all the time because they are so comfortable!!

Challenging fit -
Loved the idea of a keen slip-on for walking the dog in winter, but I never could get the correct fit in the length and then comfort around the ankle. I'm going back to something else that can be adjusted. But a good-looking shoe!

love zappos.com -
I am very pleased with zappos.com. I ordered this shoe on December 23 and received them on the 24th. As a bonus the shoes are perfect in quality. The only thing that I would suggest is to pay close attention to the size that you order. I have wide feet and usually order a size larger to accommodate for the width. However, these shoes are wide enough that I could had ordered a half or even a full size smaller. I do think that this is not really a problem because Zappos.com is fabulous with returns. Otherwise, love the shoes, love zappos.com and love the prompt service provided.

Great Shoes -
Zappos is awesome; three different pair of Keens to get the right fit. Zappos staff were the best on the returns. Warm comfortable shoe.

Disappointing -
As a Keen fan, I was very disappointed to have to return these shoes. I bought them for my boyfriend and he initially thought they were comfortable, however, upon longer wear they began to rub the back of his heels. We had already exchanged them once for a larger size, so it wasn't due to an ill-fit. I was surprised, since the other reviews were quite positive.

Awesome!
Very, very, good shoe! They are super comfortable. The first day I wore these I was outside in 30 degree weather doing cart runs for 8 hours the day before Thanksgiving. My feet did not hurt one bit and they were warm and dry! I very much recommend them.

Keens are awesome!
I got these as a present for my Dad at the beginning of October and I don't think he's taken them off since we gave them to him. I got them for him because I have two pairs of Keens for myself and I love them. They're good shoes for people who are active, or who are working outdoors a lot. I even wear mine to work and I'm on my feet all day. The price on them is high no matter where you buy them, but they are well worth every penny.

Forget Your Old Work Boots -
I work as a carpenter in a large facility. When I'm not on the bench or a machine on the concrete shop floor, I'm running around on a combination of wood, tile or carpeted floors in the offices throughout the buildings. Although I have a good pair of "work boots" in my locker, I hate wearing them, so I try to find shoes that are comfortable, durable and good looking.
Well, I hit the jackpot with the Keen Whistler.
As soon as they arrived (the day after I ordered them!) and I put them on, I knew I had picked the right shoe. They fit perfectly and are probably the most comfortable work shoe I have ever worn. You won't need a break in period and they'll take forever to wear out.
I like these shoes so much that I'm ordering a second pair for home.

Comfortable loafer with durability -
I continue to be pleased with the wide toe box of Keen shoes. Again, with this shoe, however, size up by 1/2 size. This seems to be a trend of Keen shoes. I got the higher size just in case and guessed right. It is a nice durable shoe that will see plenty of the elements this winter.
Other shoes recommended by reviewer: Clark's Privo black loafer that is lighter and less durable.
