Not chic, but reasonable look; not clunky, yet as comfortable as any clunky sandal. Gives good support so that after many miles of walking, they are still quite comfortable and feet are not sore.

Sandals - to narrow -
These sandals are very comfortable but run very narrow. The strap by your little toes sits at a very uncomfortable angle.

Enjoying this shoe -
If you have any bumps or bunions, you can move the straps around to accommodate. The insole is very soft and comfortable. The straps do take a few wearings to soften up; they do rub the first time or two. They don't really have any arch support, so if you have high arches, they might not be appropriate. They feel like slippers.

Just as nice the 2nd time around.
Years ago I bought a pair of Bass Sandals just like this and it was time to replace them due to all the wear and tear. Imagine my delight to find the same (or very close to it) sandal. I immediately ordered a pair and love them as much as I did the first pair.

Versatile sandal - I like the look and the way the inner sole feels on the foot. My only problem is the buckle on the right shoe isn't quite right for my foot and digs in at a certain spot. I have played with adjusting the strap various ways but hope that it will soften up after awhile.

I love this sandal and have for many years. This is the first time in quite a few years that I have bought this sandal because I though it had been discontinued. Just be careful as I think the sandal is on the slightly narrow side.

Great shoe, but slightly itchy - I love this shoe, besides the texture of the bottom where your foot rests. I've been wearing them non-stop this summer and my feet are in desperate need of a pedicure, but other than that, I absolutely love these shoes!

Comfort for troubled feet -
I have several foot problems that prevent me from wearing most closed toed shoes. I also do not tolerate leather bottoms (feels like a burning sensation) The Bass Margie is the most comfortable sandal I have found and the sole feels like a cloud, so soft. They also don't look like an orthopedic type shoe. Very attractive.

I love these sandals -
I have a pair from a few years ago and have worn them to death. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn - they are cushiony and light. I hate wearing shoes and I will wear the least shoe I can get away with. These make me feel like I'm wearing nothing. The only drawback I have found is that they are so airy that they make little hissy sounds when I walk while I'm breaking them in. So worth it though. Who cares if people think it's me and not my shoes?

I have had these shoes for many many years and felt it was time for a new pair. They are so comfortable and look good whether with shorts, slacks or skirts. I have small ankles but a fairly high instep and the ankle strap does seem a bit shorter than the pair I had before, but by adjusting the strap it does fit.

Too narrow or too wide...no happy medium -
I first purchased this sandal in my normal, W width, and was unable to squeeze my foot into it without discomfort. I exchanged it for a WW, which felt ok for the first hour or so, then stretched to the point at which my foot was sliding out of it. The front of the shoe was too wide, and tightening the ankle strap just pushed my toes over the front of the shoe, making it extremely uncomfortable. Unfortunately, since I'd worn the shoe outdoors, I was stuck with it. There seems to be some non-standard sizing in this style of sandal, and I would not recommend it.

None of my shoes are wide width, but after reading the reviews, I bought this in wide, and it was still too narrow to fit! I am returning them and choosing a different black sandal.

Stay with the old -
I still love my pair of Bass sandals that are more than 20 years old, because the side strap just covers my little toe, unlike all other sandals. I had hoped the new Bass version, which split the toe strap in two, would be ok but it isn't. My poor little toe either has to be scrunched up painfully into the strap or left stranded outside of it equally uncomfortably. I'll have to give the shoes away.

The side strap broke on my one and only pair of sandals that I’ve happily worn for 8+ years. (Which by the way, look identical to the Margie’s-except mine had a toe loop/toe ring, and the Margie’s don't). After searching many sites for sandals just like my old ones, I finally found these Margie’s.
Yesterday I received this pair of Bass "Margie’s", from Zappos. I ordered a 10WW-cinnamon. After getting over the initial shock of how SUPER fast this order arrived...I took them out and wore them around the house the rest of the evening. Loved how they looked I especially loved that my wide foot was able to fit into a sandal, without spilling over the edges.
If I have to look for a problem area, my only issue (very minor) is that without a toe loop/toe ring in the footbed, my foot slips through, more forward in the sandal, which in turn makes my little toe rub up against that front strap and causes some discomfort. No biggie, that’s something I'll have to adapt to, seeing I've never worn a sandal without a toe loop. Otherwise, it’s a REALLY nice sandal! And seeing how hard it's been to find this style of strappy sandal, let alone this style in a wide size, today, I decided to go back to Zappos and order another pair before they run out of stock, or worse...it gets discontinued. This 2nd pair is a half size smaller- 9.5WW, maybe that'll help with the footbed issue.

My favorite pair of shoes...
When I first tried the shoe on, I was horribly disappointed. Even though I bought my usual size (double extra wide), I couldn't get my foot into it. I tried again a few days later with more determination, and after a short break-in period (1/2 hour maybe?) They were as a comfortable as if I'd been wearing them daily for ten years. I'm tempted to buy at least one more pair, so that when the ones I have wear out, I'll have another. If you struggle (like me) to find shoes that fit a very wide foot ... this is your sandal, just be patient with them at first. I'm saying "Feels true to size, Feels true to width" because after the first wearing, they really do.

I really like this sandal. I have a bunion and I was able to adjust the straps around it so that it doesn't hurt. The strap could use another hole to make it a little tighter, but it's no big deal. I like the look. Usually super comfortable sandals look "old lady". These look sharp and stylish.

Strap placement -
I wore Bass for years. I tried these in white--two sizes and two widths. My baby toe hung out or hurt due to strap placement. I wear 8.5 W and can't find a good, non-Grandma look in a white sandal. If these fit you, however, you'll love them. They wear like iron and have a great sole.

I normally wear a medium, and the wide in this shoe is almost too narrow to get on my foot, but the leather should stretch over time. But I've owned this style for over 20 years and dearly love it.

The sandals fit perfectly. The extra wide in the lower range of normal for me fit great. And the straps are plenty long. I have high arches so I don't need any arch support. Very happy with this comfy shoe! And I've been wearing them every day!
