Comfy! These boots are incredible; the heel is just the right height (2 3/4"; not too tall). The shaft is a great width; snug, but still comfortable, and the style is just perfect! When my budget allows it, I'll be getting the brown & charcoal suede as well.

Zappos is great! I have ordered four times; always the fastest shipping and easy returns, exchanges. Honest company. With that said, now about the Kara boot. I have a 14 inch calf, the boots still work for me! The water does bead right off the boot. Kara is soft and no slouching! I can only wear nylons, due to my larger calf; will not be able to wear leggings. I love them and they are very slimming; make the foot look small and are kind of sexy and chic! My instep and arch is high and foot is a bit on the wide side, so was amazed to get the size right the first try! I ordered an eight and a half. In tennis shoes that is what I wear and for flats, usually an eight. I do worry about scuffing, as the suede is very fine; also the boot is breathable, yet warm! I wish there was a bit more arch support and forefoot padding. But this boot makes no sound with the rubber sole. I feel as long as I care properly for this boot, it will last me eight years! Thank you Zappos and I will be getting the same boot again in black and grey. I bought the brown first! Zappos customer service is awesome and shipping the best! Make more colors please! Purple, olive green,and red! I wear my summer capris with them! So that winterizes my summer pants!

These boots are comfortable, chic, and very practical - rubber soles and waterproof. Great for daytime and Saturday night too. I\'m now a big fan of La Canadienne!

This is my first pair of La Canadienne boots, and unfortunately I think I am addicted! I have the gray Karas and they are both beautiful and comfortable. There was no break-in time at all, and each time I put them on I am surprised again at the comfort. I could honestly wear these all day every day. I have thin calves and they are not too wide, even though there is a bit of extra room. I can fit them easily under most boot cut jeans. The gray color is quite attractive and a perfect alternative to black or brown. My only small hesitation is that the black soles sometimes leave scuff marks on the side of the boots, but I may just not walk gracefully and rub my feet together. These are well worth the price in comfort and appearance.

Love these boots. If you have big feet (9 1/2) and a narrow calf, these are for you. They fit my ankle and calf snugly and are extremely comfortable. I purchased a full size smaller and they fit beautifully. They are waterproof, sexy and comfortable. What else could a girl want?

These boots are fantastic. I usually wear a 5.5 in dress and a 6 in casual. I bought a 5.5 and they fit perfectly with a thin to mid weight hose/sock. The leather did stretch and these slouch just a touch around the ankle, but they still look great and I have worn them multiple days in a row with no problems. They look great with pants and skirts/dresses. I\'m so impressed with this boot that I intend to try another style from this brand, in the future.

I had been looking for a new pair of boots with a reasonable heel that I could wear both casually and dressy. I had never tried La Canadienne until these boots and I love them. They are very comfortable; I have worn them all day from meetings to walking through the streets of Manhattan and my feet only started to hurt towards the end of the day. They are true to size and very well made. I am so happy with La Canadienne that I just another pair of ankle boots from them (through Zappos of course) and I\'m set for the winter!

I recently purchased the La Canadienne Kara boot in black suede and this has become my favorite pair of shoes. I like this brand because they use such high quality leather. I walk to and from work and can wear these boots all day without having my feet ache. Also, this boot has both a zipper and expander which means you could wear them with skirts or skinny jeans and the shaft will conform comfortably to your calf. If you do need to get the shaft taken in, you have a number of options (by either taking it in at the expander, the dart, or the full length of the zipper). This also means the cost of tailoring the shaft isn't as expensive. As someone with a long history of having cobblers modify my shoes, believe me I know. Although truthfully for most people, these boots will fit like a glove right out of the box. These were definitely worth the money!

These boots are extremely comfortable. I walked around, using stairs up and down, all day in my first day in this pair. No problem. In spite of rather thick heels, they look totally elegant with my shirt dress. Nicely fit to my legs' curves. The deep charcoal color is amazing, too. Love them!

Best boots ever. I rarely leave reviews, but these boots are really awesome. They're stylish, elegant, comfortable, and practical. They dress up; they dress down. The heel height is perfect because the subtle platform makes them feel 1/2" lower than they actually are, and the heels are substantial enough to feel completely stable, but are still elegant. The toe-box is roomy but not bulky, for dress boots and the heel height, there is good arch-support. The calf is trim and tailored, but not tight. The workmanship and quality are top-notch. Even though they are pricey, they are worth it. I bought black, and immediately ordered grey (arriving shortly). I wear a 5.5, but in boots usually go a half-size up because I have extremely high insteps; I ordered size 6 and they are perfect. I could wear socks in them, but could also wear thin tights without sliding around too much. I can see these as my go-to boots all fall/winter long.

These are, by far, the most expensive boots I have ever purchased, but I am glad I did. They are very comfortable and look very smart. I agree with earlier reviews that mention how tight the boot is around the calf. I also experienced this, but the fabric stretched after the first couple of wearings and now it is not tight at all.

The BEST brown suede boots available -
I searched high and low for stylish, comfortable brown suede boots. These boots look fabulous AND are extremely comfortable. They are expensive but you are paying for very high quality boots.

I love these boots! The only problem is that my calves are 14" and these boots are 13.75". There is some elastic on the side, so I\'m really hoping they will stretch out. After I wore them around the house, they made a mark on the sides of my legs, but were comfortable in the feet. Does anyone know how much these boots might stretch out?

This is the 3rd pair of LaCanadienne boots I have purchased, the 2nd from Zappos (The first time I didn't know you existed), not because they fell apart, but because I love them so much! This style especially looks great with jeans and dresses, is super comfortable and stays warm and dry in the winter. They are well worth the expense, and they are expensive, but if you live in a cold snowy climate, you need these boots!

All these past reviewers were right. These boots are comfortable. They look great and flexible. You can were it with your skinny jeans, leggings, skirt or sweater dress. Love it!

These boots are great. I am a very picky shopper when it comes to my boots and these fit the bill. They are so comfortable for the heel height. I can stand in them for a long time and they also keep my feet warm. This is my second pair of La Canadienne boots and I am sold. They only negative I can say is that the calf width was a little tight the first few times I wore them, but they have stretched out fine.

I love La Canadienne boots.
The difference between these boots and the other La Canadienne boots I own is the higher heel, but they are just as comfortable. I will be interested if the suede remains as good looking as the regular leather after being in the rain and snow. I don't know yet.

Best boot ever!
Kara has just arrived (less than 48 after ordering online) and is she hot! I looked at this boot online for about two weeks, and even went to a famous Upper West Side shoe store to check them out, looked at them online for another week and decided I just had to have them. They are incredible - beautiful and comfortable! Well worth the investment. I can't wait for the cold weather! Zappos is awesome!

Grey La Canadienne Kara review -
This is a very comfortable boot for the height! It is also comfortable on the inside - warm without being too hot. It is also a classically good-looking style. It's expensive but probably worth the price, especially with the water-proof guarantee.

It hasn't been wet or wintry enough here in D.C. for me to wear these yet, but they feel great and look stylish and dressy. They're also classic-looking enough to wear to a corporate meeting.

I am absolutely gaga over the La Canadienne Kara. was afraid about the heel height, but honestly, it truly is not bad since the boot is soooo comfortable, it has a bit of a wedge in front which takes off from the height of the heel. This boot screams "class"! The suede is as smooth as silk. I got the black. Thought I’d need the 6.5M like the Gaetana (also La Canadienne, a more sporty boot), and was so disappointed when they ran out of my size, so I tried the 6.5 in charcoal, and the 7.0 in black. Well, I actually needed the 7.0, (which would be my standard size in a boot generally, so it does run true to size) so I hope this guides you size-wise. The charcoal color is pretty, but it is not a dark/deep charcoal. It is a true gray. I could have used both, but of course at this price, I was already over the top with one. But it's definitely a keeper. I’m sure the brown is as beautiful if you need that color. My calves are normal size and it zipped up just about snug. It’s not a loose fitting boot. Fits nice and smooth, looks stupendous, and it comes up almost to my knees but I’m not tall. They are gorgeous. My second La Canadienne boot this year, haven't worn either yet, but from the reviews I’m sure they'll be great. Can’t wait to strut in these :)

Your people know what is the most important thing to do to bring customers back time after time after time. You can have an excellent product, but if the customer doesn't feel important, it makes no difference what one is selling. Too bad more people in the business world don't apply
