Most comfortable boots I have ever owned -
I've been searching FOREVER for the perfect pair of boots. Flat ones look too military/masculine, and heeled boots, which I love to wear with jeans, are just not practical for my life. When I saw these I could not believe they were Dansko. My roommate has several pairs of Dansko clogs and loves them, but I couldn't get over the bulky look. Well these boots are phenomenal. More comfortable than rainboots... and warmer! And I could walk for days in them.

Risa Black Leather Boots -
I love Dansko Clogs - so I was happy to find the Risa boots. I bought them in September 2007 and have yet to wear them, because I can't pull the zipper all the way up. The boots are a good fit on my feet...but that doesn't do me much good. I’ve read other reviewers have had the same problem.

Very comfortable all-day boot -
These are very comfortable. A staple for the wardrobe in my opinion. They accommodate my narrow heel, wider toe area. They're keepers!

I love Dansko, and was so excited to get a boot. I always wear a 40, and this fit perfectly. After days of wearing them, I still have a little trouble fitting them around the top of my calf, and the top of my foot does get a bit sore. However, they are much more comfortable than other boots, and I love the look. I did use leather protector on them before wearing, as others suggested, and that seemed to help keep them looking new. My husband was also amazed that I ordered them on a Saturday night, and I had them Monday morning! Thanks Zappos!

Cute boots!
These are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn - the ankle part of the boot is skinny enough to give support, but not be uncomfortably tight. And, as always, Zappos has the most fantastic customer service!

I have several pairs of Dansko shoes and a pair of heels and I needed a size up in this boot - it was too small in both the foot portion and the calf part.

Good quality, but not what I'm looking for.
I love all the Dansko shoes and sandals I own, so when I decided I wanted some tall black boots, I wanted to try Danskos offering first. Unfortunately, the Risa really isn't what I'm looking for. I don't care for the height - it hits right at the thickest point of my calf, which seems very unflattering to me, drawing attention to the thickness instead of the whole line of the calf. Also, the heel is both higher and narrower than a standard Dansko heel. I could tell that from the pictures, but I wanted to see how it felt, thinking maybe Danskos brilliant engineers had somehow preserved the same feel in a different heel ... nope, not really. I don't wear anything higher than a standard Dansko, and this felt uncomfortably high to me. Plus my toes, usually well-accommodated in wide Dansko foot beds, felt painfully squashed - maybe because they slid forward from the high heel? I sent Risa back and am trying some Snipe boots - under-reviewed but very beautiful!...

GREAT boot!
I have always been a fan of Dansko, and these boots are great. I have big calves, so it did take a few days for the calf part to stretch out to fit me, but now they are perfect and I can wear them nonstop all weekend and traveling, and they are very comfortable and stylish.

Very comfortable!
I tried on tons of different kinds of boots but none of them felt comfortable to wear all day to work. I tried these on and although they were way out of my price range, they were so comfortable that I knew I'd wear them all day and not regret it. I've worn them a few times to work (I commute by bus and subway and walking) and they're great! When I wear Dansko shoes I usually wear a 41 but for their clogs I wear a 40. For the boot, the 40 fit perfectly. The only thing I would change about them is to make them just the slightest bit taller. They end mid-calf and I think they'd look a lot better if they were just 1 inch taller.

Finally My Dream Boots -
They fit well, and I'm hard to fit. They are very stylish and attractive. It's great that they feel good, but best of all I feel good when I wear them.

Perfection!
This boot is perfect. It's like a boot chameleon - it can go dressy or casual in an instant. Add to that the fact that it's actually comfortable and you have a boot that is well worth every penny spent on it. Without fail, I always get compliments on them. They're a bit roomy in the toe box, which is why I feel they are a bit wider than marked, but for me that's a good thing. They're not super wide though so don't let that stop you from buying these!

Exactly what I wanted!

Awesome boot!
I purchased this boot because I was looking for a tall high quality leather boot that was stylish, well-made, and (for once!) comfortable. The Dansko Risa is finally that boot! The leather is top-notch and thick. The sole and arch are padded well and the heel isn't overly chunky but sufficient enough to provide ample stability and support.
Cons:
The only bad part is that I have a largish medium calf size and it's *really* tight to zip up. Most time I leave the top 2-3" undone for comfort but with tights it would be easier. The ankle area also isn't super tight so the leather bows a little here.
I'm only giving this boot 4 stars on look because I just wish the arch were a tiny bit higher and heel tiny bit narrower. I think it would make it more stylish. If Dansko could do that without sacrificing the awesome comfort - perfection :)!
I also recommend treating the boots with a waterproofing spray of some type if you plan to wear them in snow and salt. The leather is too pretty to ruin.
Note on size: I typically wear a 9 in shoes and the 39 is perfect on me WHEN wearing nylons/stockings/trouser socks. I think if I wanted to wear more athletic/thicker socks I would size up.

I bought these as a gift and/or for myself. I found the leather a bit too stiff, but my daughter loved them. Thought they were comfortable, great for work with either pants or skirts, but casual enough for everyday wear. She hasn't worn them much yet, but was very pleased with both looks and comfort.
Other shoes recommended by reviewer: Taryn Rose are my absolute favorite for comfort--price and inconsistent sizing their only downside

I love these boots. Of course they are pricey because they are Dansko. I had to buy them a size smaller. I usually take a 42. The leather is beautiful. I look forward to getting the brown suede also.

I ordered these boots based on the online reviews that were very positive. They are just not the right boot for me. The leather was very stiff and rubbed against my ankles. They also bothered my shins when I walked. The leather is not soft and doesn't move very well. They were loose through the calf but tight on my upper calf. I wasn't at all pleased. They also look pretty plain in real life. The black leather is shiny and looks a little plastic-like. I returned these boots.

Dansko Risa boots - I like them!
These boots are awesome, especially for someone like me who seems to only ever wear Danskos. Very cut, comfy and even OK to walk around in for long periods of time. I have pretty wide feet and they're just right for me (i.e. probably a little too wide if you've got a regular width foot).

Extraordinary comfort!
Danskos run a little large--I wear a 9 1/2 and ordered a 41 in this boot. It fit perfectly. The boot was a little wide around the ankle, but after a few wearings, the leather is softening up and becoming more form fitting.

Great quality - excellent comfort! I usually go for a sexier boot with a smaller and taller heel, but Danskos comfort and great style don't make me feel I am missing out on anything. Great to travel in and walk in the city.

Great looking boot and comfortable too. Best part is that there is some elastic at the top of the boot so that it is not tight around the calf. I liked it so much I got both the black and the brown!

Good boots -
I love the look of this boot. I think in smaller sizes it is especially cute (maybe not as much in my 42) but it makes me pretty happy. They are a little wide and my feet are on the narrow side but they fit in length which is rare for me so I really can't complain. Dying to wear them with a skirt- haven't done that yet. All in all a very nice product.
