I love these shoes. They are very good for my flat feet. They are very roomy, if you like room to wiggle your toes a bit...they feel a little boxy...and heavy. But, they are great support, very cute...good to stand in all day.

I don't usually write reviews, but...
...these are the best boots I've ever owned. Besides looking gorgeous, I can walk forever and not have aching feet. That's rare in a boot this pretty.
But my real reason for writing is because I too am fairly small but with very muscular calves. When I first put these on, I thought I'd have to send them back. But the trick with calf-high boots is to sit down, zip it up as far as it goes, then lift your leg up and point your toe while zipping it the rest of the way. That gets it there, no pinching, no nothing, everything's happy.

I was really looking forward to these as I love Danskos and needed some reasonably dressy black boots. When they arrived yesterday, however, I found that the shaft of the boot is *way* too tight for me. I walk a fair amount, so maybe my calves are more muscular than the average girls? You might think so, except that amazingly, a pair of John Fluevog boots I ordered at the same time (the Operetta Argolo) fit just fine - even though Fluevogs tend to run small overall. Go figure. Anyway, the foot-part of the boot seemed to fit fine; I just couldn't pull the tops all the way up, so I'll have to return them.

A New Favorite!
I've been looking for a new boot all year. I really couldn't decide what style I wanted, but that didn't really matter b/c I couldn't find anything that felt good. I tried this Dansko and immediately fell in love. It is so comfortable and is quite versatile. I was looking for something specifically to wear with dresses and this works well b/c the calves are narrower than on all other boots that I tried. This is still a bit wider than I'd like, but at least I'll be able to tuck a skinny jean into it. I'm normally an 8.5 and I ordered a 39 - perfect.

Chic yet comfortable -
This boot has it all! Its shape elongates the leg for enhanced beauty, yet it is so comfortable you can wear it all day. It is a great fashion item for between seasons.

Love these boots!
These boots are fantastic! I love them! They are sooo comfortable and very well made. They are a nice classic style that goes great with skirts, jeans, etc. I get lots of compliments.

Excellent comfortable boot -
This is a terrific boot. I cannot wear high heels due to degenerative arthritis in my right big toe. I can wear wedges or very short heels. Dansko shoes are comfortable but have a solid bottom and enough lift off the front of the foot (plus a nice wide toe box) that this isn't a problem. I'm very short and this boot gives me the height I am looking for without having to have a full wedge for comfort. Also, although I have a very muscular calf, after a few minutes I found that the shaft of this boot (which was a bit tight at first) loosened and conformed to the shape of my leg. It is also very attractive and not as "clunky" looking as many Dansko items. I am very pleased.

Great Boot -
Very comfortable stylish boot. I got the brown suede. They are astonishingly comfortable from the get-go. I have slim legs, and the calf size is just right, not flopping around like buckets.

Lovely boots, extremely well made, and mostly comfy -
These boots are good looking and really well made. They're perfect for running errands or going to party - very versatile. I ordered the size 7.5 - 8 equivalent, and found them a touch too big (though not as much as a half size). A thick pair of socks did the trick and they're comfortable.

These boots are the best boots I have ever bought. They look and feel great. I can wear these all day and my feet don't hurt. I just recently had bunion surgery, so my feet are very sensitive. Finally someone has come out with a boot that feels great on your feet all day and looks beautiful with jeans or dress up. I really do recommend these boots. Thank you Dansko and Zappos.

Most comfortable short boot - I ordered at least 1/2 dozen boots before settling on this boot by Dankso. My objective was originally a tall boot but this boot is so comfortable and looks so good that I can justify just wearing this with trousers. I have worn these boots about (4) times so far. The one issue with suede is that the fabric is starting to get "slouchy". I ordered the other Risa boot in brown smooth leather which is much stiffer. I think this is just a function of suede. I have treated the suede with spray to waterproof given that the suede even gets dirty even when I drive my car (the heel). I wish Dansko would make a taller boot that I could wear with skirts.

A very nice boot -
This boot is perfectly comfortable and wearable right out of the box. The quality, like all Dansko shoes, is exceptional. Soft but sturdy suede, smooth gliding zipper, attractive styling; a good basic boot that has it all. I ordered a size larger than my normal Dansko size, as I like room in a boot to wear socks, and the fit was just right for this. A half size larger would have been great too, but I don't believe there are metric half sizes offered. The heel height is comfy, not way sexy, but this is a boot you can actually walk a lot in and be happy. Great for work (I got several compliments at work), a day out sightseeing, shopping, etc. It looks good with dresses, skirts or pants. Boot height & width worked great for my shorter, more muscular calves (I'm 5'2" 120 pounds), which is often an issue for me with boots. I'm pleased with this purchase for comfort and wear in a quality boot.

Very comfy! I ordered a 40 since I wear a 9, and it was a perfect fit. If your calves are large you may have trouble getting them zipped around the top. There is an elastic insert that does help it stretch a bit around the top-thank goodness.

Absolutely LOVE this shoe! In the past I cared more about the look of the shoe than the comfort, but with this shoe I didn't have to compromise either. I have worn this shoe walking around my college campus all day with no discomfort. Even more amazingly, I wore them out with friends on a Friday night and opted to walk home a total of 24 streets and my feet only hurt a little by the time I got home. That says a LOT for me. I'm thin, but still have strong calves and the boot is perfect with a jean tucked in or with the jean over the boot. Perfect heel height to get some extra inches, but still feel like you are almost wearing flats! My mom who is 60 even wants to buy this boot because of its comfort and she has foot problems and had surgery not too long ago, but was comfortable in these.

Brown suede Dansko Risa -
Great boot! Extremely comfortable right out of the box. I wore them for the first time for a night out that involved a lot of walking and they were great, with no rubbing or discomfort anywhere. The materials and workmanship are high quality, and the suede is wonderfully soft. I wish the boots came up a bit higher though. Excellent Zappos service!

Fabulous and comfy!
These are the most comfortable shoes I own right now - they're perfect in height (I'm 4'11" and have small calves, so it's hard to find tallish boots, but these are PERFECT). The heel feels like nothing...I have them in the brown suede and they're a bit darker than the photo, which is great - the perfect, chocolate brown suede boot. I'm walking on air in these. Only issue is I wish they came in a slightly smaller size, but if I wear these with insoles and they're perfect - I'm generally a size 5. I may need them in black, too.

Mostly what I wear are Dansko clogs. In comparison these boots are not nearly as comfortable! I think it's because the boots have a raised heel, so you can either put weight on your heel or toes, but nothing in the middle. But with thick socks the situation improved (and there is room for thick socks). I'm optimistic that with some kind of inserts they will be perfect, because they are gorgeous boots! Will be easy to dress up, dress down. A great three season boot. Very light in actual weight, but not made lightly. Also, the pictures online don't quite capture just how nice looking the boots are. You have to see them in person! My only caution is that if you order them in one color, you'll soon be wanting the second one as well.

Love These Boots!
Last year I bought the brown suede and loved them so much I just purchased the black suede pair. I get compliments and inquiries every time I wear them. The main selling point; I am 5'2" and need a boot that is shorter in the calf and doesn't hit mid-knee. This boot goes with dresses, slacks and jeans. Comfort and stability of heel structure is also a plus. Only nick is better arch support for me.

Great fit, very comfortable -
I am very surprised with these boots. I wear Sonja Danskos which have a wide heel, wide toe space and high arch support. I was weary to order these wondering if they would be too narrow for my feet, but they feel great very comfortable. Not much arch support but still work great, glad I took the risk and purchased them. Dansko is the best!

Can’t zip them up all the way -
Size 37 is not wide enough for my left calf. The right boot will zip up all the way, but not the left; the stretch panel is a joke. They seem quite comfy aside from this, which is enough of an issue to return them. Maybe another pair would bring better luck.

Not for me, probably alright for others...
I love my Dansko clogs, and endure my cute Dansko ravens, but these just do not fit well, nor look cute enough to keep. They are far too loose through the ankle, too narrow in the foot and fit just snugly at the calf (in a size 40 equal to a US women’s 9) the arch does not align with my arch at all either. Sorry, but sending these back.
