They say the first thing a woman looks at is your shoes. Wear these and you will not be disappointed. I get everyday comments of how nice I dress, when the only thing I do different now is the shoes. Style!

Solid boot, but nothing remarkable -
These boots replaced a Kenneth Cole boot which fell apart after 2 months of wear. These, so far, are more reliable and are a higher quality. They look decent for a dress boot. Not as comfortable as I was expecting -- very minimal shock absorption. My feet hurt after a day of walking around wearing these shoes. If you are looking for something like this, go for the Rockport Toloni boot which is far superior in comfort.

Best of its type available today -
I owned these boots previously, but was unable to find them locally. By chance I found Zappos, and will undoubtedly buy from them exclusively.
About the Hugo, there are close to look alikes on the market, often twice and more than twice the price, but do not approach it for looks and comfort and quality. It is an enormous value for Zappos price...unbeatable.

As good as 250$ + shoes -
Making shoes since 1890's really pays off in production methods, these shoes are superior to any shoe 250$ and under. The only thing I would say that can top this shoe would be Timberlands Chelsea, or some Prada.

Overall great shoe, comfortable, although a bit conservative-looking. 5 stars for overall quality. Not waterproof - first rain brought out white salts on leather along the sole. Heel area required some breaking in time. "Brown" version is actually dark red.

I ordered these shoes in both black and brown for my adult son for Christmas. He has a lot of difficulty with his feet; otherwise, we may have rated these a "5 star". He prefers dress boots and wears them every day. The fact that these have a cushioned insole is definitely a plus. The extra room from the sole to the top of the foot makes this boot more comfortable. We would recommend this boot.

Solid traditional boot -
I was looking for a traditionally styled dress boot. So I tried the Hugo and Lumiani's similar boot. I decided to keep the Hugo because of the leather outsole, which gives the boot a dressier appearance and feel (the Lumiani was a solid boot in its own right; I just wanted a dressier sole than the rubber one of Lumiani). I am pretty happy with the Hugo so far. Compared to the picture, the actual shoe has a hint of red in its color, but not too much to make it a mahogany or burgundy in hue. The leather upper and sole seem to be of good quality so far (after a month and a half), like I said earlier, the style is a clean looking traditional shoe profile and footprint that should be versatile enough to dress up a suit, or wear with jeans.

Extremely comfortable; out of the box probably the most comfortable shoes I've ever bought. Great fit. Easy on and off.

 |  | If you don't mind, I will share a quick story with you... my father-n-law wanted me to order a pair of boots for his girlfriend thru another website. I did what he asked, even though I told him I'd rather go thru Zappos.com and save him some money! Long story short, the other website was unable to complete my order in the time that I needed it due to a backorder on the same pair of boots that I got from ya'll immediately! Needless to say, I emailed the other company and told them to cancel my order all together and I Will Not be ordering from them again. I also made it a point to tell them that I have a reliable website that gets me the product that I need, On Time!
