Disappointed -
I really wanted to like this shoe but couldn't. Wearing them to walk in is great. They truly fit like a glove. Running in them is a different story, though. The arch support is very pronounced and I constantly had 2-3 inch blisters on my arches, which I have never had with any brand of running shoe. The Goretex lining might be great for walking through puddles, but if you're actually exercising in the shoes, your feet sit in a sauna- there's no way for perspiration to escape. Even on below freezing morning runs, my feet were soaking wet from sweat. I'd hate to think what would happen if my foot were ever submerged while wearing these (one plus of the drought- don't have to worry about this happening). Most technical trails require some stream crossing, and there is no where for water to get out of these.
They look cool, but for technical single track trail running I wouldn't recommend them.

Great support and comfort -
Extremely stable and supportive, really hugs foot in slippery conditions. Love it. Runs a little large on my narrow foot. Luckily other reviewers had alerted me to this. Can't recommend it enough but it is a bit pricey in this version. Only con is that while waterproof it is not very well insulated. Meant to be exercised in with exercise feet will be warm - so this should not be a pitfall.

Salomon Rocks!
These shoes are my favorite trail runners yet. I clock about 25 miles a week on trails with a little bit of roads. The lacing system is awesome. The look is great. The comfort is excellent. I recommend these shoes to any serious trail junkie. The one thing I have to mention is the narrow forefoot but that's not really a con. Buy these shoes!

Great shoes -
These are the best running shoes I've ever had. They are incredibly light, with fantastic arch support. Most of the time, I'm grateful to pull of my shoes after a long run, but with these, I never want to take them off. They are comfortable no matter what the activity.

Great all around athletic shoe -
I LOVE this shoe, I have had about 6 more pairs - I always replace them when they wear out. They are so great because I never worry about my feet getting wet, and they are super comfortable.

Waterproof, fits great, and looks pretty cool, too.
Love the shoe. I spent a weekend running "dog agility" at a competition with my dog and ran in my NEW Salomon XA Pro 3D XCR shoes. The ground was very wet in the morning from a combination of rain the night before and morning dew on the grass. My feet stayed bone dry while other people had to deal with wet feet and socks; and based on that alone, I love these shoes. In addition, I was concerned with the fit, as one shoe fit perfectly but the other was a bit snugger (one of my feet is bigger than the other). With the correct sock selection, I had no discomfort at all and I was on my feet for 2 consecutive days from 7am - 5pm. And I love the way they look. What more can I say? Great shoe!

A lightweight, comfortable shoe -
I have always loved Salomon shoes, and purchased this shoe based on the recommendations of so many people who gave a 5 star review. I wore them to work last night; my job involves standing and walking on concrete for 8 hours. Overall, they were comfortable enough, but the right shoe is a 1/2 size too large. There is a 1/2 size difference in my feet, but I have another model of Soloman's called The Lodger and size 8-1/2 fits me perfectly, so that's size XA Pro 3D XCR I ordered. The XA Pro 3D XCR, however isn't sized the same way. The right shoe is a little loose, but buying a 1/2 size smaller wouldn't have worked because the left one would have been too small. I did wear thick socks with them. I'm also concerned that this lacing system will not last as long as regular laces do.

Great shoe!
I bought a size a little big for me and wasn't sure if it fit correctly. It fits perfectly in the arch and I have plenty of toe room. I have worn them multiple times trail running and they are incredibly comfortable. The only thing I would caution against is to ensure that you wear socks high enough on your ankle. As a novice trail runner, I tend to forget that these are cut much higher on the ankle than regular running shoes, and they can wreak havoc on your heel. :)

Waterproof helped when I got caught in a downpour walking in NY City! Comfortable fit for exercise or hiking. I have such a hard time getting shoes to fit - size 12 medium to narrow with orthotics.

Best shoes I've ever had! Very roomy, extra light, comfortable and quite easy to take off and put back because of its ingenious tieback system. Offers great protection to toes and nails as well. Will definitely buy again!

Nice shoe; but didn't fit right -
This is a great looking shoe, but unfortunately, it did not fit me right. It was too narrow and the arch hit me in a funny spot. I don't have wide feet either. I bought my husband a pair of the men's version and he loved them and wore them on several day hikes with no trouble at all.

Salomon's XA Pro -
Excellent shoe. I did a 5-hour water hike in it. It has excellent stability, my feet did not hurt at all after the hike and the shoe was water-proof. I did have a slight problem with the size. I normally wear 10. In these size 10 fit well on the right foot, but on the left it was a tad too small. I guess my feet are different size :) However, I highly recommend this shoe. It looks great as well!

Worth the extra $$$
These shoes are probably the most comfortable I have ever owned. As many others have suggested if you are ordering you might want to consider going down a half size, which I did not do and they are probably a little bit long, but not to the point where they don't do their job. They are incredibly comfortable for any activity and after hard usage, whether running on a trail or walking the streets of a foreign country for hours, they still feel great and seem to not get as dirty as some shoes do- the mudguards and reinforced toe are great.

Excellent shoes for fallen arches -
I bought these shoes to train for and participate in a 20 mile overnight walk. Not only did they support my feet and feel comfortable on my arches, I didn't get any blisters. The support in the shoe helped my feet tremendously without feeling awkward.

Problem feet? No problem with this shoe -
I have feet that are boney and not well padded yet I love long distance trail hiking. Just completed 2 20 miles days on the AT in rocky PA and a 2 week trip to the Sheltowee Trace trail in KY. These shoes are a dream- no blisters, no hot spots, and my feet were fine. I highly recommend these shoes for all your outdoor needs.

Well worth the money -
I normally wear a size 6.5 but after reading the reviews, I decided to get a size 6.......perfect fit. I’m on my feet 10 hour days on concrete so I was looking for comfortable shoes with good arch support and these exceeded my expectation. Love the color too...very bold and people notice. I tell them all to check out Zappos. You guys are great!!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!

GREAT SHOE!
I was a little leery,. . .reading all the positive reviews on this shoe, . . I thought how can that possibly be? How can so many people love this shoe? Well, I’m glad I followed everyone's advice. I love to go on 2-3 hikes and trail run and these shoes offer great traction and support. I used to wear Asics for my trail running but decided to change and I am so glad I did. The lacing mechanism is wonderful and so convenient! Buy this shoe!!

This is a great lightweight shoe for hiking. It's somewhat waterproof, making it ideal for slightly muddy terrain. It's a cinch to put on with the easy lacing system and provides great stability. It feels slightly bigger than marked, which is great, because when you add socks it doesn't feel too small.

Awesome shoes -
I absolutely loved the shoes when I got them. They are very comfortable and stable. My only complaint is that the padding feels almost too soft and I am afraid it will compress quickly and not last the life of the shoe, but I have not had any problems with it so far.

Love these shoes!!
They are incredibly stable. I have problems with overpronation and these have really helped in that area. They keep my foot warm and dry as well. Can't say enough good things about them.

I have tried 2 different pairs of the same shoe and they have both fallen apart. Everyone I spoke to was excellent – friendly, flexible, productive.
