I ordered these shoes from Zappos last week and received them the next day (Zappos is awesome with shipping!). They usually run small and I found that a 9 felt perfect, even though I usually wear an 8-8.5. They felt extremely comfortable right out of the box and weren't stiff when I was walking around my apartment. I did end up returning them though because I found that just walking around my apartment, they made my feet sweat like crazy. They do have Keen’ss form of GTX, eVent, but it didn't seem to let my feet breath at all. I'm sure these shoes would be great on the trail on a cold day, but I think they would be a little much for summer days and desert hiking.

I really like these...There were a lot of remarks about the size of this boot. I found them to be true to size. If you wear a 9 in the other Keen shoes then you wear a 9 in these. They have good support, are comfortable, and have good grip. Another thing I like about them is the dirt does not cling to them and they don't look as dirty as many of my other hiking boots. I live in the mountains and it is very dry and dusty most of the time here, so shoes don't look clean for very long.

Great hiking boot! I like this boot because of the wide toe box which gives my toes lots of room. It is light yet still offers support for hiking on the rocky terrain here in Colorado. The boot is extremely well made and is comfortable. They run small. I did need to order a full size bigger than what I normally wear. Thank you Zappos for making exchanges so easy! I like the way they look and have gotten lots of positive comments from friends. I would recommend this boot to others who hike.

I love these boots -
I was nothing but skeptical when I bought these boots. I thought they would go right back to Zappos. The reason is that I have very wide feet and really thick ankles--I have never found a high top shoe that I liked but I ordered them because my boyfriend swears on ankle support while hiking. I was proved totally wrong! I love everything about these boots and if you experience similar "problems" as me with foot and ankle width, I recommend them to you. Right out of the box they were totally comfortable and I was able to hike around in them (light hiking) all day without hurting or sweaty uncomfortable feet. The construction of the tongue has extra fabric around it so that there is no gap where my ankle shows through like in other boots I have tried. In fact, these go around my ankle perfectly even without that feature. The cut of the ankle height is perfect. It's a bit higher in front but low enough in back that it doesn't "bite" into my ankle the way other boots have. It's just enough to cover and support my ankle. Lastly, these shoes are really light so not a burden on your feet or legs. I will buy these shoes again when I wear these out. They are also really cute!

Great hiking boot!
I took these on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru. I have a wider foot, and the generous toe box was perfect for me. I used my own orthotics and they were great; no blisters! Glad I got the waterproof shoes for the rainy days and wet terrain in the jungle. Almost everyone in our group had some Keen shoe or boot for the trip. Love these boots!

Best hiking boot ever!
I bought these because of great recommendations on this site! I was not disappointed. I went hiking with my new outdoorsman, boyfriend on the Blue Ridge parkway. My feet never hurt a bit. They are perfect for comfort, support, grip, etc. They couldn't be better! (I did buy an 8 and normally I wear a 7). Thanks for great advice.

I find it difficult to wear anything else after wearing the Keen Targhee II Mid. Comfortable in everyway - cushioned and supportive.
Size up a half size as other reviewers have suggested.
I can, and have, walked for hours in these boots, with no difficulty - and my feet and joints are fussy. I only wish they were a tad less funky looking...
I highly recommend this boot (and Zappos).

Rose to the top of the pack -
After comparing this to the shorter version as well as the adorable Newport Trail style by Keen and a pair of hiking shoes by Sorel and Timberland, I settled on these. I followed the other reviewer’s recommendations and got size 9 even though I measure a size 8 and usually buy 8.5. They aren't as cute at the Newport Trail style shoe, but have the ankle support of a boot. They felt narrow at first and also bit into the back of my ankle. After walking around for about 1 hour, neither of these bothered me and my feet actually felt better than when I first put them on after a long day of walking around in heels at work.

Perfect for traveling & hiking -
These are really great boots, they stay dry in torrential rain, and they are not too bulky so you can wear them casually or in the snow. I used them for mountain hiking for 5 days in a row and never felt uncomfortable, didn't need to wear them in either. Like other Keen boots get 1/2 size up.

Just received my new Targhee II's...after ordering them less than 24 hours earlier. I did just like most of the people said. And ordered an 8.5 instead of my usual size 8. I've had them on since I got them to break them in...but really...there is nothing to break in. My feet usually don't do well in new shoes. But so far so good. Can't wait to try them out in the Sierra's.

Hiking Bliss -
I'm a Keens fan and bought these boots for a trip that would include a LOT of hiking. They were perfect! I was happy in them on the very first day, and regretted taking them off at night. Each day, I'd say to my husband (about 100 times), "I love my new hiking boots!" And I do.

Tough and Flexible -
My feet are a little narrow so I have a hard time finding hiking boots. These are just right (although ordering a half size up advice is definitely correct. I went from 8.5 to 9).
The shoes have some arch support that I wasn't too sure about at first, but it turned out to be great.
They are really comfortable and flexible, but provide the amount of ankle support of a stiffer shoe.
My one complaint is that they aren't too breathable. The leather exterior is great for fit and toughness, but as the weather warms they are a little hot.

Simply the best, most comfortable hiking boots I've ever worn. Keen has done it again- with their environmentally conscious approach and emphasis on durability and comfort, they've created the perfect hiking boot. DO buy a half to full size larger than usual, as the sizing is small.

These hiking boots are fantastic for the money. I would advise ordering them a full size larger than you normally would wear. They run quite short. Once you get the right size, they are outstanding comfort.

Great boot!
I have very narrow feet and this boot fit me very comfortably. The arch support is great, the boot keeps my feet warm and dry. It was tested biking in Chicago sleet. Feet stayed dry. I'd spend the money for the quality of this boot again in a second!

What a find!
Recently I went on a vacation to the Washington Coast. These waterproof boots were perfect for all my beach walks and lighthouse-hunting hikes. Not only are they super cute (I bought the neutral walnut color), but they are also extremely comfortable. Forget your old-school stiff leather hiking boots...these rock!
P.S. I normally wear a 7.5 or 8 and the 8 was a perfect fit.

Overall I really like this shoe. I bought it to go hiking and camping - haven't done either of those yet, so I'm not sure how it will go, but it's done the job around town. I'm normally an 8, but after reading some reviews, I ordered an 8 1/2. They still feel a little small, but I'm hoping they'll loosen up a bit as I wear them more. The shoelaces are very short and too thick for the eyelets at the top of the shoe. If you leave them out of the hooks though, the shoe rubs at the back and your heels slip around. Will need to get new laces before I do any serious hiking.

Feels like it was custom-made -
This shoe is best for someone with a heel a half- or full width narrower than her forefoot (e.g. an A heel on a B forefoot). Like me! It is not a particularly lightweight shoe -- might be a bit heavy for hot summer weather -- but provides excellent support for long hikes or walks. It is well made and a good value.

These shoes rock!
I read all the reviews before purchasing this shoe. The looks drew my attention - but the wear is perfect. They feel as good as my Birkenstocks. Perhaps better because they feel safe in hard Chicago winter weather.
I got a half size larger and yes...the shoe strings are a little short.

I bought these for an upcoming Colorado hiking trip. I usually wear 7 1/2 to 8, but bought 8 1/2 due to the other comments - fits perfectly. I have a high arch and these molded right to my foot. Wore them the first day I got them and LOVED them - light, supportive, and stylish all in one! I will definitely buy Keen's again. Thanks Zappos!

Not totally sold -
I love the look of these shoes and had tried them on in a local shoe store before having my husband purchase them as a Christmas present for me. However, I can't wear them long without the inside part of the shoe cutting into my foot right below the ankles and extending around to the back of the foot above the heel area. It can be painful and prevents me from fully tying the shoe. So, needless to say, I haven't gotten much of any wear out of them since the holidays, which is disappointing to say the least given how great I initially thought they were. I was hoping to wear them hiking but I don't see that as a possibility. Meanwhile, I'm not looking forward to telling my poor husband this news...

Lov'n the Keens!
This is my 3rd pair of Keens. I've got the prowlers, Targhees, and a set of the sandals. I've gone from river tromping to climbing Whitney and have never enjoyed a pair of shoes like my Keens. As comfortable today as the day I pulled them out of the box. The only issue I would have is the sizing. Just go for a size to a size and a half larger than you normal shoe and your golden. Once you have Keen, you never go back!

Great for wide feet -
These boots are great for wide feet. Out of the box they have been comfortable and work well with my bunions on inside and outside of my feet. If you are a "D" width I recommend these...also work well with orthodics. Order 1/2 size larger you'll be happy.

These definitely run small. I usually wear a 6.5-7.5 depending on the brand and the thickness of my socks. In this shoe I had to get an 8. But once I got the right size--soo comfortable. I will get longer laces though, as another reviewer suggested, the laces are pretty short.

Bought these and found that I needed a full size larger than my normal shoe size (1/2 size larger than Keen size). I wear them with medium weight socks. They were fantastic right out of the box. Put them on and was able to walk without any rubbing, chaffing, discomfort. Love the way they look, good grasping soles for traction, great lacing system, padded tongue and collar, little grip in back to help pull them on. These are worth a lot more than what they cost - I love them!
