My favorite shoe!
I love this shoe... I have purchased several pair over the years. This was my first time to order from Zappos. I usually purchase in a shoe store. I found I needed to order a half size larger than I have previously bought in this shoe. Zappos’ price was lower on the shoe and the quick service was fantastic! I'll use Zappos again!

Great shoe after breaking them in -
These gave me blisters on my heels. I really liked the way the feel when walking though because they have great support. If you are to buy these, I'd recommend doing short walks until you feel they are broken in.

Ordered a half-size larger than usual shoe size for toe box room. Very comfortable and pretty supportive without feeling heavy or confining; no break in required (just wore for the second time on a 5K walk this weekend and they felt great). Not the coolest-looking shoe (the white ones look a little like nursing shoes) but I didn't buy these for looks.

No arch support, unflattering shoe -
This shoe is quite different from the 843 which it replaced! The colors and materials are the same, but the overall look is much less attractive and most important to me, there is practically no arch support! While still a comfortable shoe, one which is made specifically for walking should definitely have adequate arch support! Bring back the 843 - it's an infinitely better quality shoe.

These are the best walkers I have ever owned. I have a narrow heel and a wider fore foot and these are the only shoes I can wear without band-aids on my heels.

This is the New Balance shoe I have been searching for! It has the same immediate comfort with no break in period of all NB shoes. However, it has the support that is needed to walk on cement for up to 30 miles per week. Well worth the price!

NB844 -
I've had NB before and love the wider toe box. I did not feel the 844 had as much arch support as the 843's, so I have to wear an insert with these. Also, there is some difficulty w/seam placement on the back of the ankle, it digs and causes severe blister, however w/the arch support it has provided the lift to alleviate that problem. Order 1/2 size bigger! Happy walking.

Best walkers for wide feet -
The New Balance 844 comes in multiple widths and provides room for toes to move about. I ordered a "D" width. Good for walking and running on the treadmill, walking on cobblestones and during a general workout...and it is made in the USA! Shoe runs short so order a half size larger than other athletic shoes, full size larger than regular shoe size. I have tried other athletic shoes but keep coming back to this one. I have one in white for the gym and one in black for vacations/travel.

Great shoes for those who have foot problems!
The New Balance WW844 is one of the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn. I wear an 11 Wide. It is difficult to even find a good pair of walking shoes in my size, let alone one that is really comfortable. I have plantar fasciitis and have problems with one of my favorite forms of exercise-walking. When I wear these shoes with my inserts, I don't feel any pain when I walk. I recommend these shoes for anyone with a foot problem like mine. It doesn't feel uncomfortable; however, there doesn't seem to be much toe room. Next time I think I will order a half size larger. It's wonderful to be able to have that option. On top of everything else, Zappos upgraded my shipping choice just to say thank you. So, I received my shoes quicker than expected. What a company!

First tried 11AA –Definitely too short. Unfortunately with an 11 the next size is a 12.Got a 12AA in white. Amazingly they do not look like canal boats. Shoe style quite attractive for this type shoe in large sizes. A tad long but O.K. to wear.

Best walking shoes ever -
After I complained to my sister of hip and foot pain when I do my daily walking, she introduced me to these. Her doctor had diagnosed her with arthritis in her knee, but after switching to these shoes, her knee pain was totally gone. The same happened to me. I have since recommended them to other walkers with various structural pain and they have had the same results. The roller bar technology is amazing! I would not even consider wearing anything else. They run a bit small so try a half size larger.

I bought this sneaker for my vacation in Seattle where I planned to do a lot of walking. I have a very wide foot (6.5WW) & this sneaker was perfect. I didn't have to break it in at all. It's the most comfortable sneaker I have ever worn.

NB WW 844 is the best!
I've been a fan of the NB WW 844 for several years (the 844 was preceded by 843 & 842). Although a bit pricey, the 844 is worth every cent. I have had other NB models but I feel the 844 is their best. The toe has extra room which allows my bunion to be undisturbed, and it's extremely well cushioned. I buy 2 pairs a year -- really love them!

Wonderful shoes, service and price!
These shoes are amazingly comfortable and well constructed. I ordered this pair to replace my originals that lasted through nearly 8 years of 12-hr shifts in a busy ER. Not having to think about my feet is very important and these shoes are "invisible" from day one. I use Zappos for all my shoe shopping; without a doubt they provide the most efficient, expedient and worry free customer service of any business I've ever dealt with. 844s are the new 843s. Somewhat less cushion than in the 843s and a bit wider in appearance (i.e. clumsier looking). Otherwise quite comfortable.

THE SHOE for serious walking -
I had worn out my 843's, and wanted a new model to walk in Disney World. It surely lived up to my expectations! Both models ran 1/2 size short, so 1/2 size up fits perfectly. I am a narrow, and this shoe fits the bill. I will stay in this shoe for all of my serious walking ventures. I appreciate them making the 844 more attractive than the 843, and hope they continue this trend with new models.

A pleasure to walk in -
Having had a recent heel stress fracture and plantar fasciitis I have tried many walking shoes without much success until I found the New Balance 844. It is very comfortable with a roomy toe area without being too wide and the arch support seems to be in the right place for my foot-many brands seemed to be too close to the heel. Will buy again.

Great New Balance walking shoe -
I ordered the NB WW844 two days before my husband and I were walking in a 10K event. Thanks to Zappos, they arrived just in time. Despite being brand new with no breaking in time, they were perfectly comfortable and a great fit. I need a shoe with a wide toe box and a narrow heel which is hard to find, but these are just right. My husband said they look a little like short boats, but who cares? They feel great! I got them in white and they don’t have much other color, just a little blue.

An old friend -
I have worn-out several pairs of these over the years. They are my preferred walking shoe for keeping my huskies in shape. I have learned that New Balance tends to run a tad small, so I order up a half size. This pair is D width, but I probably could have been OK with B. Excellent arch support and padding around the ankles.

I have been treating for shin splints for a couple months and these shoes are the perfect combination of cushiness and stability. They allow room for my orthotics as well.

I have had plantar fasciitis and have put in an additional NB insole. Works great!! I would recommend this tried and true walker.
