The experience ordering the Bostonian Lakewood online with Zappos was a no brainer. The specialist was very professional and expedient. The shoes arrived the next day as advertised.The Bostonians are the correct size and are exactly as I expected. They wear nicely and I expect them to last longer than most loafers due to the excellent construction.

These are a great pair of reasonably priced shoes. They were extremely comfortable right out of the box without having to be broken in! Hats off to Zappos for shipping these shoes next day without an extra charge!

Dear Zappos, I am very pleased with the Bostonian Lakewood loafers I recently purchased. They are well made and are very comfortable. That aside, however, I want to add that your firm is absolutely unparalleled in my experience with Internet providers. Your customer service, follow up and quick delivery are amazing. These shoes only took a couple of hours to feel like I'd been wearing them for years. Very comfortable. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

These are great looking boots, wonderful color and nice and tall. However, they are listed as having a 12 inch circumference and I just measured the size 8 which is 14.5 inches around. A big difference to me. I have long thin legs and they look too big. Also they are roomy in the toe area so I am going to try the 7.5 size. I am afraid that will not help the circumference though. The measurement should be changed on the description so that people with larger calves will not be afraid to try them.

The shoes came promptly. I was totally satisfied with the look, style and color (I have bought these in the past from retailers). The comfort level however was a little stiff, unlike what I remember the shoe feeling like. I own several pairs of ECCO dress shoes and they are more comfortable by far.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: ECCOs- dress, casual or golf. They fit like a glove the first time you put them on. They feel as if already broken in.

The perfect loafer!
Great shoe. Shiny, black, classic loafer with comfort and good sole. It is true it runs about a half size big. Looks great with jeans or black suit.

At last the right last -
I have always had difficulty finding a good fit because of a very high arch. Thanks to Zappos return policy I was able to search several brands until finding Bostonian which works perfectly for me out of the box...no I know where to go in the future. Thank you Zappos.

Bad finish -
Over all the shoe looks great but after wearing it twice (18 hours total) the finish on the shoe began to peel. I bought the cordovan color. On those areas where the shoe bends it is very noticeable that the "shiny" finish is beginning to peel. Not sure if this is common because of the color or if it's simply a bad quality finish. I have written Zappos to arrange for a replacement with the same color but different manufacturer.

Best Penny Loafer Made!
I've worn many brands of penny loafers over the years. Never realized Bostonian made a traditional P. Loafer. I buy nothing but Bostonian dress shoes, period. Shoe is outstanding. True fit, not super tight over the top, true to size & width, top, top quality. Very comfortable. Carries a nice shine, works with slacks, Dockers or jeans. Quick break-in. If you want a penny loafer, look no further than this Lakewood. ***Zappos - Impressive as always. Have all styles, sizes and these were on my door step 12 hours after ordered!

My 8.5 size shoe seems too big for me. Maybe I'm shrinking in old age.

I called yesterday to exchange sneakers for a larger size, and late last night ordered some girly shoes, and this morning BOTH the sneakers and the shoes were at my door! I am stunned! Today I called a different place to order a specialty item (after checking Zappos site for something similar first, of course) and there is just no comparison whatsoever. Now I must wait at least a week for my order from this other place, and on top of that, pay ten bucks shipping! See, I am spoiled by Zappos spectacular customer service. Thank you so much!
