These boots are wonderful. I bought the multi-colored version. Extremely comfortable and good in nasty weather. I've gotten many compliments and have even worn them with a skirt. When I first put them on, I noticed a little rubbing on my calf, but it either goes away or I stop noticing it. I need good arch support and this has it. They are among my very favorite shoe/boot purchases of all time. I highly recommend them.

My favorite boot!
I lived in these boots all winter. They were very comfortable and had a European flare. They were a bit chilly when it got to -20F, but I was ok with that because I don't like my boots to be too hot. Not the best traction on ice.

Comfy Little Boot -
A very comfortable yet fashionable walking boot. Looks great with skirts or jeans. Leather is thin, not a cold-weather boot. Zappos has something for everyone!

The quality of the leather looks a little bit cheap to me but this does not affect the look, they still look dressy, they are very comfortable but I needed to use thin socks, which concerns me because in the cold weather I like to keep my feet warm. I tried to use thicker socks but it makes feel the boots very tight, especially on the top of your foot and it make them sore at the end of the day. I would love if this boots come in larger fit on the leg, at least below the knee; these ones are half calf fit.

Bought this boot for my college aged daughter...she needed something warm and stylish...she LOVED the look and so far it has held up to Iowa winter snow days!

Great little boot!
Put this on right out of the box and wore it all day. There is a small knot in the sole near the big toe, but it vanished after a few minutes of wearing. The leather is thin, but this is not a snow boot. This boot is for fall and spring or a dry winter day. I've had a lot of compliments. I like the soft leather, the comfortable toe box. Looks terrific with tucked in jeans. I have painful feet and as with all Riker shoe, this fit beautifully and felt great immediately. Light, comfortable and fun to run around and either do errands or wear to work. I'm very pleased with this boot.

I read the reviews of these boots before I bought them so I had some insight; however, I found new issues with them that I would like to share. Yes, I do agree these are a smart pair of unique, casual and comfortable walking boots; however, they are overpriced. I have been looking for quite a while for the perfect city boots and was sick of looking so I kept these instead of looking further. I found that wearing them, I have to wear a band-aid on the back of my heels in addition to wearing long socks so the front of the boot does not leave a sore on my leg. Usually I wear boot appropriate socks; however, sometimes when in a jam, I grab anything. This is not an option for me with these boots however as the front part has a small piece of extra leather that rubs on my skin and hurts. I think my legs are too small for the boots and this is why I am having these issues. If you are still wanting to give these a try, wear them inside a lot first and see if you can handle the price and the issues. Good Luck!

Looked better online-
I thought these looked fun and cute online, like something I could pair with jeans or skirts, but the second I took them out of the box, I knew they weren't keepers. They look pretty cheap and feel flimsy. Also, once on, I felt like they made my feet look very long and clown-like. Too bad because I was excited about them after seeing them online.

Comfortable and stylish -
I like these boots very much. The little metatarsal bump is very soft and I got used to it. The boots feel like comfortable slippers, but are basically supportive enough for normal city walking. And they are snazzy-looking with tights and a skirt and also under pants. My only complaint would be that they are not very warm.

The PERFECT color!!
This morning I woke up complaining about how I sure needed some new comfortable shoes, and my husband whips my Christmas present out of his closet! I've only been wearing these this morning, and so far so good, but what I'm completely thrilled about is the color. While they're called "black" they seem ever so slightly very dark brown to me and I just realized that I'm going to be able to wear them as black OR brown boots! Two in one! Thanks, husband! (And Zappos too!) :)

Comfy and practical -
I really love these boots. At first when I put my foot in it, the contour felt weird, but that went away the minute I actually started walking in them. They didn't cause any discomfort or pain all day long. Nice looking & sturdy.

I love these boots, they were a great purchase and not too expensive. I got lots of compliments on them. I find frequently flat boots look too masculine or military and these are great!

Best boots I own -
I was very skeptical about ordering boots online without trying them on..however these are the best boots I have ever owned. They are extremely comfortable; I can wear them all day. The most comfortable boots EVER, but too slouchy/inexpensive -
This boot is fairly inexpensive and I think there is a reason for that: it looks and feels it. The leather was very thin and slouchy and I did not like the look very much. If I were in my 20s and looking for a very casual boot, this might do the trick, but was not really the quality boot I was looking for. I sent it back and found something else. That said, this is probably the most comfortable boot I have ever had on my feet. Whereas others noted the "lump" by the ball of the foot in a bad way, I LOVED it. It felt like I was getting a massage as I was walking around and overall felt like a wonderful slipper (with a built-in massage feature!). I could wear these every day in terms of comfort, just not looks.

These boots are sooo comfortable and stylish! I wear a 7-7.5 depending on the shoe and the 38 fit perfect. Zappos is the best to buy shoes from with the overnight shipping and they’re top notch customer service. They were really helpful and a truly great place to shop!

Great boots!
I am a comfort maniac, and I love these boots. At first I thought that there wasn't enough padding under the balls of my feet, but they are great. I've worn them on trips including 5 hour airport sessions. The padding that's near the ball of the foot is called a metatarsal support. It's supposed to be there, I thought it felt odd when I tried the boot on, but no complaints, I'm sure it adds to the overall comfort of the boot. At first I wasn't sure if I needed a half size smaller than I usually buy, but I went with my usual size and I've been pleased.

Mostly--possibly all--good -
While I didn't think the material was synthetic, it is very, very thin leather. This can be good--if you want an extremely light boot--or bad if you want something sturdier. One problem with the thin leather: it can kind of bunch up, partly because this is a very calf-forgiving width, which can also be a good thing. I took out the easily removable insole and put in my own with better arch support. I wanted a slightly sturdier sole, but sometimes it's good to have an almost elf-like boot.

Very comfortable right out of the box. As one reviewer mentioned, there is a lump near the ball of the foot, but it is in the insole and wears down quickly. Also, the insole can be removed and replaced easily. I’m a size 7, and size 37 fit well. I have scrawny calves, and these boots stay up and still look good. The front leather has a very slight padded lining, which keeps the shaft up and makes the boots slightly warmer than some of my leather only boots.

The Best Boot EVER -
I bought these boots for an upcoming trip to Europe and needed something trendy and comfortable! I was hoping this would be the answer to my prayers - and they are! At first I was a bit worried when I saw the 12" circumference as I have fairly muscular calves, but there is a slight stretch at the top and fits my calve beautifully - even with tights on! The only caution I have (but nothing a little Dr. Scholl's can't fix) is that they could use just a tad bit more arch support...although not enough for me to send them back! I'm so excited - it's going to be a hot week in Europe! (Looks great with brown tights, cream tunic.)

True to size, slim calf, & comfy over bunion -
I ended up ordering these in 3 different sizes (sorry Zappos). The big toe area has extra length, so the actual size/fit is deceiving. As it turned out, they actually ran true to my usual size of 40 as the 39 was uncomfortably snug on my B width foot. These are comfortable from the moment they go on (the one's in the right size at least.) I have a large bunion on top of my big toe, and even though these are fitted around the front, the leather is so soft there is NO pain. Plus, the pliability of the sole lets your foot bones fully articulate with each step. I thought the mid calf would make my legs look large, but they fit snugly like I wanted and look sexy in a casual snuggly way. Extra cushion in middle of the sole is different, but actually very comfortable. They are so plain, simple, and perfect - I'll be living in these for years!

Fantastic Boot -
These boots are unbelievably comfortable. Mine feel just a tad too big, but not so that I would bother sending them back. They are very casual but cuaxte at the same time! I have very thin legs - so these fit perfectly over pants and are just a little baggy with a skirt. There's a nice stretch material, though, if you have larger calf muscles.

Greatest boot ever -
I can not believe how wonderful these boots are in every way. If I had them in a light color, and black I would clean out all of my other shoes and only wear these. I am a teacher so I am on my feet all day, and this is the first boot, or shoe, I have ever worn that does not make my feet tired. I also love the look of this boot - stylish with a touch of the rough and tumble. All I can say is don't let this one get away. WOW!
