The look isn't quite what I wanted but not bad. The comfort is excellent. Didn't have to break them in like some other shoes. Very comfortable.

Bostonians are good shoes. I notice this pair on my left foot hits my bone at the calcaneus and talus joint, so it isn't the best for me because of that. Doesn't do it on the right side. Otherwise it would be a pretty good pair of shoes...

Good Shoe...but some words of caution -
I'm writing this review after owning these shoes for a year and wearing them almost everyday. These were my first pair of Bostonians and I was immediately drawn to their dressy look, style and value. A little tough to break in but they were fairly comfortable, more so than I thought they'd be.
Now for the bad:
- These shoes literally fell apart. I was not hard on them, but both of the soles separated on me (rubber)
- There were at least 3 to 4 areas on the outer portion where the stitching was coming out.
- These shoes do not "breathe" well. I used odorizers and cedar foot trees and that is the minimum I would recommend.
- They made a "clacking" sound when I walk on hard surfaces indoors. Almost like the sound when a female wears high heels. Hard to explain, but makes people definitely notice when you're coming down the hall. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I like quite shoes.
- Tough scuff marks hard to remove...even when using large amounts of polish.
Overall...I would buy these shoes again just for the looks, but only expect them to last 6 to 8 months if you wear them everyday...maybe longer if you work indoors a lot.

Great looking shoe -
I was overwhelmed with how quickly I received the shipment. It is obvious that the Bostonians were a top notch pair of shoes. Initially, they were uncomfortable causing some pain to my right foot. I figured that the leather would adjust and I can already tell a big difference after a couple of weeks.

Good shoe overall -
I found this shoe to be a good one for a wide foot and the design is good for business. My only concern after only a week of use is that it takes a bit of breaking in...Yet don't discourage you from buying since I think this is usual and will go away with use. It is a very good shoe overall.

Nice Shoe!
I found these to be quite comfortable shoes for how dressy they are. They offer good support for the whole foot, which is good because I primarily bought them for ballroom and swing dancing. The leather sole was a definite selling point for me. Beyond performance and comfort, these also look great with a suit, esp. a zoot suit or a tuxedo! They are my first pair of Bostonians, but I don't think they'll be my last.

For the money, this is a fantastic dress shoe. I would recommend the Andover to anyone looking for a traditional black shoe to be worn with suits or other formal attire. Comfortable, well made and nicely styled! I have been very pleased with my purchase.

I will buy Bostonians for the rest of my life....
I am a first time buyer of Bostonians. I called because a hole was worn in the sole of the Andovers I bought. I called them up to ask what can be done, and with no questions asked, they said they'd send me a new pair. Didn’t even have to return the defective ones.
As a new young professional, this is the type of customer service that establishes a lifetime of brand loyalty. I work at a powerhouse public relations firm, and I mean it when I say that I am so beyond impressed with this level of service that I see no reason why I wouldn't buy Bostonians for the next 20-30 years.
The nuances of the shoes are meaningless to me...I’ve been treated like a valued customer, and because of this, will continue to purchase these simple yet stylish shoes for years and years to come. I don't care if this even gets put on the website. Read this in the corporate boardroom to the CEO's of the company and give a promotion to the person who implemented this company policy.
I will buy Bostonians until my feet fall off.

A good dress shoe -
An overall good dress shoe, very formal in appearance. Goes well with a suit. About as comfortable as a traditional leather dress shoe gets. Very high shine and nicely finished leather. Not for everyday wear but perfect for "dress up" events.

Check fit carefully before wearing -
It is a nice looking, classic cap toe, with a little more rounded toe than some. Unfortunately, they did not fit me as well as I thought. I tried them on at home and everything seemed fine, but after a day at work, I could hardly walk in them. The height of the shoe under the outside ankle bone was too high. Ouch! Maybe a few more minutes around the house or trying them on at different times would have helped.

Good shoe, but...
Good shoe, but a bit harsh on the process to break in. Once you get there, though nice and comfy. Just a bear getting there. Nice and solid build. Real quality for the price. Dressier than I expected or the picture made me think. Not great for business casual apparel, too dressy and looks out of place. Much better for suit or dress slacks and shirt setup. All in all, damn nice shoe for dressy events.

Andover v. Akron-
The Andover is a fine shoe, but it doesn't breathe as well as the Akron. The Andover has some sort of cushioned inner sole with non-leather materials inside and maybe some outer coating that diminishes the advantages of leather. However, I predict that the Andover will break in nicely over time. It has better support than the Akron.
