I was searching for a warm, weatherproof, comfy boot with a bit of a heel but nothing too crazy. A friend of mine recommended these boots as she has 2 pairs and loves them. I ordered them and Zappos as usual made them appear at my doorstep in less than 24 hours! I ordered a half-size up after reading some of the other reviews. I have a slightly wide foot but have never needed to buy wide shoes. I found that going up half a size in these boots was sufficient although they are snug across the forefoot. I wear them with thin socks. The boots are almost everything that I was looking for, they fit the bill in terms of comfort, heel height, warmth, general appearance and everyday wearability. The only thing I\'m not 100% psyched about is the sqaured-off toe box as it\'s not the most fashionable look at the moment. Overall though all the good points outweigh this one not-so-perfect point and I\'m keeping them and enjoying them. I would recommend these boots.

These shoes have had several stormy days in Seattle and have passed with flying colors. I wanted an "everyday" shoe-boot with some kind of a heel to wear with jeans when I did not want to be in formal boots. I also needed a simply fashionable AND comfortable walking boot since I often walk 2 miles home from school when it\'s not too rainy. My feet stay warm and dry with urban style. I put these on for a full day right out of the box with no break-in time, as seems to be the case for wonderful La Canadienne shoes. (These are my third pair of La Canadienne boots). I have a hard time finding stylish boots that are full-day comfortable for my size 11, flat feet, add waterproof on top of that and the market gets really limited. La Canadienne has saved my feet (and my back)! Felicias are not sexy little numbers, but the suede and stitching give them more flare than any rainboot. They also feel super sturdy.

WORTH EVERY CENT - I am now looking for a second pair of these boots in black. These are wonderful boots. I work in the midwest and every day I have to trudge through an area that has at least 2-3 inches of standing water on the sidewalk. So far my feet have stayed dry all day. I live in Chicago and can't say enough about how well these boots have held up. I do not generally spend this much on any shoes but these have been worth the cost. They are also very comfortable and did not require a break in period.

Theses shoes are very comfortable, but at the same time they're rather heavy and clunky. The square toe with wedge did not work out.

I wear these to work almost daily. No break-in period! The boots are so very comfortable and warm that I don\'t like to take them off! I wear 8.5/9, and the 9 fits me best.

These are the BEST shoes ever! mine have lasted for years and they still look and feel great. they are completely water and snowproof. excellent quality.

Very nice boot! Did not put it to a weather test yet, so more to come. The toe is more square than you can tell from the photos and more so than I prefer but decided to keep them because the fit and comfort outweigh that.

I bought the boots in grey. They are elegant and classic. But most important they are comfortable. They have about a one and half inch wedge. The soft suede accomodates my bunions and swollen arthritic second toe. The boots offer plenty of support. I haven\'t noticed any irritation from the zipper. In addition, the toe box is high enough to accomodate bigger toes and raised toes. I have looked in several upper end mall department stores and I haven\'t seen anything as elegant as this boot.

I usually don't take the time to write reviews, but these boots are so great, I just had to. I have bunions and the balls of my feet usually get really sore, but I have these and several other styles of La Canadienne's ankle boots, and they are all amazingly comfortable, stylish and warm. You don't feel like you are wearing flimsy "fashion" boots or clunky snow/rain boots, but they function well as both. I would give them 5 stars for style for a comfort boot, only gave 4 because I'm sure there are boots that are more fashion-forward, but to me, not worth the pain! They are expensive, but worth every penny. Even the ones I've had for years (3-4?) are still great.

So comfortable. I was looking for a boot that not only would be warm in the colder weather, but look attractive and be comfortable. I'm really happy with these; they were comfortable out of the box, no breaking in, and I've walked back and forth to work in them (about 15 city blocks). I ordered my actual size (7.5) and they're fine with a thin sock. I'm hoping when it snows here, they'll work well. The only negative is a lack of a good tread on the sole, but hopefully it won't be a problem.

Just got mine. Gorgeous! Perfect heel. I will be exchanging for the wider width. I am a 9C and the regular is just a tad snug. If you want to wear socks of any thickness, I recommend ordering a size up. Can't wait to get them in the snow!

I love these boots!
I don't usually take the time to submit a review but these boots demand it! They're very comfortable right out of the box- no "break-in" time. They have a 2" heel but it doesn't feel like it- very comfortable to wear all day long. They feel true to length but I have a narrow/medium-ish foot and these were none too loose across the top of the foot. I found wearing thin socks does the trick though. I plan to order another pair in the dark brown! Finally, Zappo's service is great, as always. I'd definitely recommend these boots- they're worth the money!

I haven't actually worn the boots yet, but plan on wearing them in the upcoming weeks while out of town. I must comment on the service I have received so far: excellent! I had to return the first pair of boots because of the size. Before I even mailed the first boots back I had received the right size within a couple of days. The customer service is the best I have ever had in my life and I'm 56 years young. I recommend Zappos to everyone who values both excellent service and products.

These boots are gorgeous-casual chic. I wear an 8, but opted for the 8.5 just so I could give myself room for comfy socks. I bought these boots for when I travel out of my warm Texas weather. I am in North Carolina next month and they will fit the bill. They are warm, and look really well made. These boots will make your feet look small, if that's what you like. I've been told I have dainty feet, so they actually made my feet in 8 look too small (I didn't like that). But if that is something you want, these are a plus! Aside from these great boots, the reason I felt compelled to write a review is because of Zappos outstanding, wish there were other sites like these one, service! I love them! They were so helpful when I ordered the first time, and even more helpful when I exchanged the boot for a larger size. I will be buying other boots from this maker, and this site. If this is your first time shopping with Zappos, you will love the experience. I am also so grateful for the wonderful reviews; this encouraged me to buy the boots. I don't like shopping for shoes on the internet. Today, this has changed. Thank you Zappos!

Great, comfortable, good-looking warm and waterproof boot! What more could someone ask for? Wore them all last winter, traveled through Asia and Europe in them, wore them at home in northern California, recommended them to a friend in Denver, and I just bought a new pair for this winter, having worn those poor boots down. I needed to size up 1/2 size and then after a few wearings they got a bit loose so I added some extra padded inserts and they fit fine and were even more bouncy. Love 'em!

I knew they were a perfect fit as soon as I put them on. They were totally true to size. Incredibly comfortable even after wearing for 10+ hours the first day. I would recommend them to anyone. I can\'t say enough about this boot!

Cute boot, can't comment to the weather-proof aspect, though that was an appealing thing when I purchased them, but decided that they just weren't as stylish nor overall what I would hope for that kind of money. Tried them on when they arrived and was disappointed. They could've been any ol' suede-y cloggy-boot-shoe peeking out from under the jean hem. Kind of bland. Fit was decent, but not superb, which I would expect for the price. I would try this brand again with adjusted expectations and at a sale price perhaps. Zappos service, as always and forever, is awesome.

These are the most comfortable shoes ever! I wear an 11 wide and these fit perfect! I am 6ft tall and I feel like I am wearing flats...so easy to walk around it. I am a new fan of this brand of shoes!

Great boot -
Looks good, very comfortable. I put the boot on and walked about three miles in Washington DC winter w/o a problem. They are roomy, which works with thin and thicker socks, not barefoot for me. Can't say yet how they will do with rain/snow but think it will be fine.

I needed a winter boot that didn't make my size 11 feet look like Fred Flintstone's. These boots did the trick. In fact when I tried them on in front of 2 different people both had the EXACT same reaction. "They make your feet look so tiny!" These really are beautiful boots. Pricey, yes... but in the long run, at least to me, worth every penny. I bought them in the dark brown, 11W. Unless you are wearing black, the brown is dark enough to pass for black. I tried on the 11B's, but my extremely high instep and wide foot made them impossible to pull on. The 11W fit like a dream. I do not recommend wearing these with thick socks unless you can go up a size, the fit is pleasantly snug. I do not foresee the blisters I normally & inevitably get when I break in new shoes/boots. This is a huge bonus. PLUS I am 5'11, and have a hard time with adding to that, but the heel on these is the PERFECT height. If you can afford them, by all means... buy them! You will not be disappointed.

It's a good, comfortable boot. I have a narrow size 5 foot, so it was too big for me. However, I gave it to my mother who is a medium size 5 and it fit her perfectly.

Classy and comfortable -
Originally, I bought the grey version, which is a very dark, lovely grey -- but they didn't look right with black pants (a staple in my wardrobe). So I now have the black pair, and they go with everything. They have an understated, chic, classy appearance, and most importantly, are very comfortable for walking around in. I will be giving my lectures in these. I usually wear a 7.5 or 8, and the 8 was perfect.
