Perfect fit -
These were the perfect solution to my rather large calf muscles problem. They fit really well and don't look silly. A classic British wellie!

Perfect Wellies -
I'd just like to second the many comments about these boots being perfect for shorter girls with larger-than-average calves. I'm 5'4" and my calves are 14.5" around. I never find tall boots to fit me; I always wish they had an extra inch circumference or so. The Hunter boots fit great - even with jeans tucked in. I'm glad I invested in Hunters because now that I've found the perfect boot for me, I want to be able to wear it for years and years to come!

Loving them so far!
I just received my pair of Hunter Huntress in green. They easily slipped over my hefty calf, even leaving room to tuck in jeans! I am generally a size 8.5-9 and ordered the size 8. They fit perfectly. I should be able to get a decent size sock in there as well. I have tried on the Hunter originals in my normal size 9 and they seemed roomy. I think even with a thicker sock they would have been just a little too big. Now I am almost looking forward to snow!

Hunter Huntress -
I bought both the traditional Hunter and the Huntress based off of other reviews to see which one would fit my calves. The Huntress is definitely larger at the calf and what I needed. With Zappos' no hassle return it was very easy to get both and send the one that did not work back. Great boot for rain or snow as long as you wear thick socks!

These are the classic Hunter Wellie, but with a slightly wider calf. Good for athletes and stuffing your jeans into! I love them, but they run seriously large - had to order two full sizes down. Wish they had half sizes!

Finally, a boot that fits!
I am somewhat short (5'4) and years of horseback riding have given me enormous calves. So, I'd gotten used to being disappointed when it came to trying on boots of any type and had settled on thinking my calves were just too big for boots. I found the Huntress on Zappos and upon reading the reviews, got excited. I thought it was worth a shot and I am glad I took a chance with them! While it is a little tricky fitting jeans into them, I am so happy! I was pleased to walk through puddles and dirt lots when it rained yesterday with no worries of wet pant-legs (the worst!). My calves are almost 16" and I typically wear a 7.5 or an 8 in shoes. I ordered the 8 because I have wide feet and for the extra calf room. They are quite big in the foot, but I plan on buying the Wellie socks to compensate for the extra room (let's hope I can squeeze them in over jeans). Great boot! Great site - I <3 Zappos!

Great boots!
I love these boots. I generally wear around a 7 (from 6.5 to 7.5) and I ordered the 6-- it's perfect. I'm quite petite (5'2" and slim) so the calf is a bit large for me, but it fits nicely over jeans.

Great option for those with shorter legs and/or wider calves! Trust the posted measurements on this one: I have 16 3/4" calves and I had no problem fitting my calves into the size 6 and I even had room to tuck skinny jeans into the boots (for a snug fit). Definitely go a size down: Im a size 7 1/2, but the size 6 is room-y enough in the footbed for thick socks. Also, the shorter shaft height means no rubbing and pinching behind my knees. As always, Zappos is AWESOME and I received my boots two days after I ordered them, all without paying for shipping. Thanks so much! I look forward to enjoying these boots for a long time.

FAB-U-LOUS -
I bought these mainly for a trip to London during the rainy season and to walk my dog when the weather is not ideal (he doesn't get walked when it's not ideal, but I like to justify what I buy). Anyway, I ordered these boots around 8:00PM last night and by 1:30PM today they arrived! How is that possible? Did someone from Zappos drive them to me? Kudos to Zappos for such quick shipping. Now to the boot, I was barely in the door when I ripped open the box, flung off my flip flops and put on the boots! I love them, even if they are a bit large. I usually wear a 6, sometimes 6.5 and I ordered the 6. I definitely think they're a bit big, and will order the 5 to see how they compare. I'm 5'4" and the boots are below my knee and comfortable. Walking around bare legged I have lots of room in the boot, maybe too much room but I'll see what happens when I get the 5 and try to stuff my jeans in them. Either way, I'm keeping these (or the smaller size) and will look for reasons to wear them when the weather is nice! I would love to try the 6 with the Hunter booty, but it's currently sold out (I'm on the wait list). Either way, I think they're very stylish and cool and I especially like that I don't see tons of people walking around with them, so I feel like I have something unique (until my copy cat neighbor gets a look at them and buys herself a pair, but I digress...)

Love 'em!
These are my very first pair of Hunter boots and I have to say I am very happy with my purchase. I normally wear a size 6.5-7 for most shoes but fit just fine into a size 6 Hunter boot with a bit of room left. The extra space will be perfect for the winter when I have to stuff fleece socks in. It's also good to have a bit of space because waterproof boots do get a bit hot and sweaty. Socks are a must!
The Huntress boots are about two inches shorter than the Hunter Originals. Depending on your height this is probably something to consider. I'm 5'3" and the Hunter Originals probably would have hit the back of my knees when walking or sitting so getting the Huntress boots instead was perfect.
The only thing that doesn't quite work out of me is the width of the boot around the calf which is a bit too big for me but at least I won't have trouble stuffing in my jeans.

Great for athletic calves -
I ordered a couple of other rain boots before I got to these. All of them were too snug for my calves except these. I was extremely happy to find that I could fit them comfortably as well as tuck in pants. They are great for my commute to work...no more soaked sneakers! Order a full size smaller. I am usually a 6 but the 5 was perfect. I even had some room to add an adhesive arch pad (my feet are incredibly flat). Zappos is incredible! Fast shipping!

Love the huntress!
My calves are about 16 1/2" around and these fit perfectly. I can't tuck pants into them, but they're great with socks, and I imagine something with leggings would work too. Love the color; love the height of the boot, everything about them really. Wouldn't change a thing. However, I usually wear a size 8 US in shoes, and a 7 US in trainers, and I had to get a 38 EUR in the boots (as opposed to the 39 EUR Zappos had suggested).

I am a new fan of HUNTER Boots!
OK - So I just bought these boots (in size 8) and LOVE them. I will honestly say though they felt huge without socks...I also bought the fleece sock for these Wellies and with that sock, the boots still felt a bit big, but not uncomfortable big...I think the 7's would be too small with this sock, especially since I have a wide foot. I also have big calves and after reading the reviews of the "original", I decided on the "Huntress" for the bigger calf size....which was a very good idea; however, stuffing jeans will be a bit tough but will work. So with that said, for girls with big calves these are perfect and again, the shoe size, definitely big...if you don't intend on wearing a thick sock, go 1 size smaller (but the fleece sock for these Wellies are too cute to pass up!)

Huntress Boots in Navy Blue -
I have thick calves and never would have fit into the classic Hunter Wellies. Even these are snug, snug, snug! I could never tuck jeans into them. They serve their purpose though - they kept me dry during a rainy "mud season" in Maine.

Garden Boot -
I wear an 8 1/2 and ordered an 8 and 9 boot. The 8 was snug with a sock and the 9 was a little bit loose, even with a sock. I kept the 9 since these are to be used for yard work. The 9 has worked out well since rubber boots are hot in summer and the extra space feels good on hot, sweaty feet.

Love them!
I loved these boots so much I bought a pair for my mom. They're so comfortable and versatile. I live in a semi-rural place and I can wear these walking the dog even in snow, or to the grocery store. They're great for clearing ditches on a rainy day, and I get compliments when I just do errands in them. I have sore, arthritic, wide feet with high-but-falling arches, and I could wear these all day long. I wear a 7.5 and usually buy an 8 for the width, but I ordered a 38 in these after reading reviews, and they're perfect even with cozy socks (haven't tried the really thick rag wool ones).

I couldn't get them to look clean and shiny -- even right out of the box. (This was true with both pairs I ordered.) I rubbed some marks off. I also tried a cloth with water as the manufacturer suggests, but it didn't work very well.

Wonderful Wellies -
These boots are a good combination of comfort and function. The rubber is supple and lacks the stiffness that might otherwise interfere with a good long walk through puddly weather. These are well suited for mucky fields or sopping pavement. Like most rubber boots, these do not have a lot of support (something that an orthotic can fix). Unlike many rubber boots, they have a sole with give which keeps one connected to the ground beneath one's feet.

After all, they are Hunter boots....
I love these boots---I bought my Huntress in the UK a few years ago, long before they were available from Zappos. I love them because of the height---the shaft on the originals were hitting me at the knee, but these hit me where the regular boots reach most other folks.
And for those in shock over the cost: well, they are Hunter boots. They'll last you for decades. My UK relatives routinely keep theirs for 20 years.

They're a little dusty looking (tried water and nail polish remove to try and remove no luck). Also, the calf diameter is a large increase from the original hunter so while you can comfortably fit your legs in with jeans; you're swimming in them if you want to wear them with leggings or tights.

I've wanted a pair of Hunters for over a year, but couldn't find a pair to fit (tiny foot but not-so-skinny leg) and then I found these --I'm so thrilled with them.

Love the fit!
These boots fit better than the traditional Hunter because they have a looser fit around the calf, so they slip on and off nicely. I am a first time owner of this brand, but based on reviews, I thought it would be better to just buy a good pair once. I have a very wet backyard in the spring and the cheaper boots just don't stay dry. I like the look and so far they seem comfortable for rain boots.

Great rain boot!
I'd been searching for a rain boot for a long time; everything was either covered in stripes and flowers or was too tight in the calf. These boots fit my calves fine with room to spare for tucking in jeans, PLUS no polka dots and bright colors! I wear a US 6.5 and Im 5'1" - these come up right under my knees. So far Ive walked a few miles in them on the city streets of Philadelphia and New York City; they're comfortable and definitely stable in the rain and puddles. I purchased the size 37 and wear them with thick socks, although thinner socks would still be okay (perhaps with an insole). My feet do get very hot in them, but that's a rain boot!

Mud is no match!!!
Great boots. Almost returned them because even the 16 inch "wide calf" is a little snug and the ankle is a bit bunchy, but they look good after wearing them in the house and vogue-ing in front of the mirror. I wear them to do all the work outside and out around the house. Very cute for a utilitarian boot. Why don't they make more fun colors?

These boots rock!
These are awesome boots. The Huntress is a little wider in the calf for those us of gals who work out and have bigger calves. Not only are they cute, they are COMFY. I could walk all day in these. I wear thick wool socks in winter for trekking in the snow and lighter socks for motoring around when it is rainy. They are great!!!
