THEY'VE CHANGED A BIT -
This is an addendum to my review posted 3-15-08. My brand-new Hunter Huntress boots arrived in record time. (Thank you, Zappos.) Although they are theoretically the same size as the twenty-plus-year-old Huntress boots that I'm retiring, the new boots are actually an inch and a half shorter in the shaft and considerably wider at the top of the calf. Since the old ones fit me perfectly, I'm disappointed that the boot height and calf width seem to have changed since I bought my original pair. Otherwise, they feel great.

Huntress boots -
Love, love, love them. I tried the Hunter, but it was too tight at the calf. The Huntress is perfect! Highly recommend a pair to jump in puddles with.

Great rain boots -
I love my new Hunter boots. I have bigger calves (15.5 inches), so I always have problems finding boots that fit. However, these fit perfectly. I'm not sure though if they'd fit over jeans... I haven't tried yet. My only fault with them is that they are a little big in the foot area - I have to wear thick socks or it's hard to walk up and down stairs without fearing they'd fall off. I usually wear a 6.5, but bought these in a 6. All in all, I absolutely love them and look forward to the rainy days so I can wear them!

So comfortable! You should order one size smaller than your normal shoe size.

Great Boots!
These are really well made boots. They are durable, comfortable, and look nice. I only wish they came in more colors like the Hunter's do.

Love the huntress -
I got the huntress instead of the hunter original b/c some reviews said they were bigger than others, Im usually an 11 in women's but the 10 fit me just fine, it's a teeny bit snug but still feels fine, definitely get a size, at least a 1/2 size, smaller.

Shoulda got these to begin with!!!
After buying 3 pairs of wellies (including the lovely-looking but disastrous Sperry Pelican Wedge Sadie boot which were unwearable after just 3 wears) and finding that they all split and leaked, I finally plumped for a pair of huntress boots.
Back in the UK, my best friend grew up on a farm so had a pair of these ALL her life. I thought that was a good sign.
After reading reviews, I ordered a size down and found they were WAY TOO SMALL, so sent them back. My regular size was out but Zappos informed me as soon as they came in and I really didn't have to wait too long.
Got my boots in my regular size (I'm a UK 5 and that's what I ordered) and they are a perfect fit once I'd put in an arch support insert - there is also room for the Hunter wellie sock.
Very comfy, very tough (my dog likes to run off and try and chew them) and look great and great proportion for my 5ft 3in height.
Wish I'd got these to start with and not wasted my time with others.

Rain Boots in the City -
I love the rain boots. Great for walking around the city especially when it rains a lot. I tested them out and the shoe is a lil big on my feet. I had to buy the Hunter's socks and inserts to have it fit the right size. The shoe is still big when I take off the sock and leave the inserts. But still great rainboots. I am so cautious about the sole because it can be run down fast since its rubber! No fleece inside to keep warm so if you are going to wear it in the winter, I would suggest you to buy Hunter's fleece socks. Overall thats why I gave it 3 stars.

ASTONISHINGLY GOOD RAIN BOOTS -
I am ordering a new pair of Huntress boots, only because my original pair has begun to wear out after more than 20 years of hard use. I've tromped through snake-infested rainforests, mucked around muddy farm fields, scampered along winter beaches, and scrambled over sharp tidepool rocks in these boots. I've hiked countless trail miles and run many city blocks in them through pelting rain in complete, dry comfort. They're supportive and sturdy, yet springy and flexible. And though I certainly don't wear these boots in hopes of improving my appearance, I receive surprisingly frequent compliments on how they look, often from complete strangers. At five feet tall with medium-sized calves and normally a 6 1/2 shoe size, I've found the size 6 a perfect fit with thick socks. This is the only footwear I've ever owned that I will feel sentimental about relinquishing. Still, I'm excited to trade in my worn-out green ones for a shiny pair of navy blue. I expect the new ones to last another 20+ years.

Huntress boots are amazing!
I initially bought a pair of the regular Hunter boots. Although I had read the reviews and ordered a size down, which turned out to be perfect, I didn't realize that a lot of women find them to be too tight in the calves. In looking around the site, I saw that many preferred the Huntress boots because they had a wider circumference. It took awhile for the black Huntress boot to come in my size, but Zappos was fantastic about notifying me as soon as a shipment came in, which didn't take too long.
I love my Huntress boots and they have become my new winter/day to day boot. I can even manage to tuck in some of my wider pants into them.
Definitely order a size down. I am a 10 and ordered a 9 and they fit perfectly.
Shipping took only a day the both times they sent me boots, and returning my original Hunter boots was a breeze!
I love these boots and I completely recommend them.

Great Boot -
While kind of a silly name, this boot is designed for a woman's leg and foot. It is just the right height (not too tall), width (for an average calf) and foot bed (neither too wide or too narrow). I would recommend this to smaller/shorter women. Great boot. The Argyle has a much wide leg space for calves that are more athletic.

Great classic boot -
Functional boot for bad weather! There is no glamour in this boot, but it's by far the highest-quality "rain and muck" boot out there. This particular one is more comfortable than the regular model because it's a little shorter and easier to walk in. I am pretty tall and found the other one hit me in the knee. You can't go wrong with this boot.

Great for a larger calf!
Like other buyers, I was drawn to the fun colors of the Hunters, but I took one look at the specifications and realized my 16" calves would not fit in them! So I bought the Huntress in black. I have a high instep, and typically wear a size 9W. I ordered the 39 and they fit perfectly, with a little extra room for thick socks. A little expensive, but I'm expecting these boots to last a lifetime. I couldn't wait to wear them so I slipped them on with my bathrobe to get the newspaper in the rain the other day. I'm actually wishing for rain again so I can wear them to work and stop ruining my work shoes. I'm very satisfied!

As others have stated, the label does say "Huntress." Also note the shorter height, probably better for petite sizes.

Reading Zappos review section was very helpful in selecting size and style. I really wanted the Hunters in so many colors, but after reading how tall they fit on the height challenged and those with a larger calf, I opted for the "Huntress" in Navy. Normally wear a 7.5 and in some brands an 8. Have a wide foot with a very high arch and a bit larger calf. Ordered the 7 and were fine in length, seemed a little wide in foot with a pair of knee highs on, but tested them for slipping by running up stairs without any problems. Great with a heavy sock, perfect height and calf width, plenty of room to tuck in jeans. I agree with another reviewer: my legs even looked thinner. Zappos notified me when my size was available and shipped in record time. I was surprised to see the boots arrived with some marks and dull spots on them, but this is the maker and not Zappos. Love the boots, just wish they came in all the same colors as the Hunters.

I didn't pay attention to the reviews and originally ordered the Hunter original which was close to painful on my calves when I tried to wear over jeans. The Huntress (ordered one size down) fits perfectly over my jeans and are super cute with my red Wellie socks. They're very comfortable for sloshing around snowy, wet, and city streets for hours.

I have wanted a pair of Hunter boots for awhile and was so pleased to find that the Huntress is made in 16.5" calf sizes (my calves are 15" and the originals would not let me tuck pants in). I bought the green in size 38. I wear a 7 and did buy the 37 initially as recommended, but because of my high instep and wider than average foot, the 38 just felt better. Need thick socks though. It does appear there are two versions of the Huntress however. In the 37, the logo on the front said Huntress, but also had the Hunter crest. In the 38, it just said Huntress in bigger letters on the outside and on the inside gave the specifics of the brand. Maybe the 38 had the old branding?
Also, the difference between these two sizes seemed greater than expected and I wondered about quality control.

Incredibly fast shipping of a great boot -
These boots are great but even better was the incredibly fast shipping. I do a lot of online shopping so, not sure why this is the first time I ever ordered from Zappos.com, but am sure that it won't be my last. Placed my order on Wed afternoon and the boots arrived on Thurs afternoon? For free? Very pleased. Oh, and the boots are just what I was hoping for. Wear a 7.5 and ordered a 7 and they work. Thanks.

Huntress Boots: A Life Saver -
Finally! Wellies that are comfy, durable, AND large enough to fit over my chunky 16" calves. My roommate suggested I purchase these after I complained how Hunter boots were too tight. I initially thought the price was a bit steep but after seeing the quality of these boots, the price is well worth it. I usually wear size 7 or 7.5 (Euro 38) and purchased these in a size 6 (Euro 37) as recommended by other users. They fit perfectly. Now, if only I could find a pair of leather boots that fit just as well.

Best Wellies in the World!
I originally purchased the Hunter wellies in green, but found out that for short people (I'm 5' 2"), the shaft was too high. The boots stopped just below my knee cap and I couldn't comfortably or fashionably tuck pants in. So I called Zappos and some really nice, helpful lady walked me through finding the return label (which was totally easy to find) and had the new shoes overnighted to me before I even sent the other ones back. These shoes do run a size big, so I recommend going a size smaller than normal. I normally wear a 6 1/2 and I ordered a 6. They fit beautifully and look so cute! It's been raining in Houston for weeks, so I can be at work and not get wet which is wonderful. My only complaint is to Hunter, not Zappos, for only making this wellie in 3 colors! Now that I have the traditional green, I want them in red and yellow and navy!

Nice boots -
I'm in my early 20s and pretty slender and the Hunter Original was too tight for me around the calves. I wish these said "Hunter" instead of "Huntress" on the label and that they came in more colors, but this is a nice boot that allows plenty of room to tuck in even your non-skinny jeans. I ordered a UK 4, which is typically my size when I'm shopping in England (US 7). I think the sizes are accurate, but the conversion is slightly off.

These are well worth the money. I was thrilled to find Huntress as I have muscular calves (about 16" around at widest point) and have a hard time finding boots that fit. They are very well made and fit my legs comfortably, with room to tuck my leggings + legwarmers or jeans in. They are cute and functional! I recommend ordering a size down. I normally wear a size 8 ½ or a 9, but a size 8 Huntress fit perfectly, with room for warm socks.

Huntress Wellington boots -
Great for the garden work, and easy to get on and off: can even tuck in light pants. Easy to just hose off when done. Nice fit, with more room in the calf part of leg.

Great boots -
Super fast shipping! I ordered these boots yesterday and got them in the mail today. However, the boots looked like someone wore them around once (kind of scratched) and decided to return them. No big deal because its been raining so much where I am I need rain boots ASAP! They are also comfortable and stylish. I would never wear a rain boot with ducks, flowers or hearts on them...
They run really big too order a size down or a size and a half down from your normal size.

I think Im in love -
These boots are awesome! I walked around in them all weekend during the icky rain we've been having in San Francisco and they felt great! excellent arch support and no blisters to speak of... though they can feel a bit restricting when you're sitting down, and getting your pants not to bunch up around them (unless you are blessed with a skinny body that is flattered by "skinny" jeans) is minorly trying...but they are by no means too tight around the calves. I ordered a FULL size down and I can wear them with a fleece sock. The waxy surface seems to prevent the rubber from scratching, which is an added bonus. A fantastic choice for rainy days!

 | | This was the easiest, most pleasant online buying experience I have ever encountered. I ordered a 7 1/2 and it was too big, you guys were out of a 7, which is the size I needed. I had 2 days until the dance and was in a bind. I actually found a phone number to call and the CSR was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I thought I would have to pay to get another pair sent out, but they transferred my credit and sent another pair via next day delivery. It was delivered as promised and fit perfect. I returned the other pair via the instructions and the whole process was wonderful. Thank you for great customer service!!! I will be placing many more orders via Zappos!!! | | ~ Shelley Z, October 30 2008
