Most comfortable all around shoe ever -
My husband has large, narrow, flat feet and these are the only shoes he's ever worn where he didn't complain about his achy feet at the end of the day. We bought them for a trip through Southeast Asia (I own a pair, too) and they're light, airy and have a sole heavy enough to hike in and light enough for weeks of walking. They don't dry out as quickly as you'd hope. He had a hard time finding the right size. His old pair fit perfectly (true to size) but finding another shoe that fit exactly the same was a challenge.

The shoes are great for outdoor activities where you may end up walking in a river. They do collect small rocks very easily. After a while you will need to take them off just to dump them out. But, suit their purpose nicely and with good style. Also comfortable with socks.

Awesome!!! I've had a pair of these for almost two years now. I use them exclusively for jungle trail running/racing in Guam. These things are tough and comfortable. Never had a single blister. Running rain or shine! Through knee deep water, wet long blade grass, rocks, up/downhill, you name it these shoes can take it! I'm just about to order a second pair! Dries fast. Just one gripe, the heel strap is just about useless. You can pull it tight, take about 4 steps and it's loose again, but the shoe still fits like a, er -glove? shoe? Whatever! I'm getting another pair now!

Great shoe for the narrow footed -
I have narrow feet and it is always a challenge to find well fitted shoes. I'm in the irrigation industry and my feet are always wet. These shoes are both comfortable and practical. I'll get another pair just for casual wear.

Most Comfortable Shoes I Ever Had!
I can't believe how comfortable these are. I use them for boating. They grip the floor of my boat, so there's no slipping. They also do not mark the floor of my boat. I found they have a habit of smelling foul after awhile. It's even mentioned on their website. Here's the fix... works like a charm! Take out the inserts; tuck laces into the lace pocket/keeper. Wash the shoes on GENTLE cycle with mild detergent. Let the shoes AIR dry with NO HEAT. After they are completely dry, spray the inside of the shoes with an anti-fungal/bacterial foot spray. Sprinkle a bit of talc or body powder in the shoes.

The Perfect Shoe for Water Sports -
Salomon has designed the perfect water shoe. I wanted something more than flip flops and sandal style shoes (rocks consistently would wedge themselves between my foot and the shoe), and was tired of wearing tennis shoes while out on the water (which would quickly ruin the shoe). The Techamphibian is as comfortable as any tennis shoe, with a mesh skin that water drains out of. The draw string ties tuck neatly into a pocket on the tongue of the shoe, and are the perfect solution (much better than velcro straps or laces). The soles grip very well, so little or no slipping as I carry my kayak over river beds.
After I wear the shoe I simply rinse it out and let them air dry. This keeps them good as new for the next time I'm out on the water. This is a great quality shoe and well worth the money.

So far so good.
I've had this shoe a few weeks now and so far I do enjoy them. I have worn them both with and without socks and either way they work pretty well. I've not tried them in water yet (can't wait to get them around a creek tho) so can't comment on that and I wouldn't say they are the best looking shoe in the world (but certainly not ugly either). I'd call them a good versatile shoe to keep around!

Light Comfortable Shoe for Water Lovers -
As a charter fishing captain, I need shoes that are comfortable, light, and quick drying. The Salmon Techamphibian is that shoe. The fit is great and the adjustable heel strap and quick fit lacing system only make it better. Most of the side of the shoe is made of mesh, thus allowing for good air flow on hot days and quick drying and water draining if you happen to get your feet wet. The outsole offers very good traction so no need to worry about slipping on wet boat decks. This shoe gets two thumbs up from me!!!

Perfect shoe - My feet hurt all the time, in all types of shoes. Not this one. I can't pinpoint what it is about these shoes, but they are amazing sneakers, not simply water shoes. They are very comfortable and lightweight, and dry in about five minutes. I highly recommend them.

What a Great Find!!!!
I have been looking for a sandal for quite sometime now. I cannot wear flip flops like I used to anywhere and everywhere. Age has caught up to me and my feet have felt it the most. I need a shoe with good support and have been looking for a walking sandal that doesn’t look dorky for quite sometime. I came across the Techamphibian and bought it right away. I wore them all weekend love them!! What a great find. I would tell anyone to buy this sandal!!

My 13yr old son loves this -
My son loves these - we needed good sturdy shoes for hiking/walking in Korea during the rainy season and were advised to get 'river shoes'. The rest of our family got Keens but he wanted something less 'dorky' that looked more like a sneaker. He loves these - they are sneaker like but have mesh sides, don't need socks, and dry quickly. He particularly liked the fit since the back heel strap is adjustable.

This was my second pair of Solomon shoes. The first pair was worn so often, they fell apart on my feet. They are one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. My only problem was my dog got to my new shoes and ate the laces...

I got these went home and put them on at lunch w/o socks and went back to work. They fit perfect. I usually get a 13 but opted for the 13.5 and I am glad I did. People say they run narrow. I have a pretty wide foot and all is well. Lacing system is awesome... my first time using a feature like that and it's very nice. I wish all of my shoes had an adjustable heel... plus this one collapses by design. Brilliant. As I worked throughout the day I did not get one hot spot or uncomfortable area with these brand new shoes. I didn’t realize the insole would have some small holes in them for ventilation... nice surprise. The bottom sole could easily handle some moss covered rocks in a creek... pretty burly. When I buy something I like the feel of a quality product. Techamphibian exceeded my expectations.

A great water shoe -
I'm a dive boat captain and I'm constantly walking of a wet, pitching deck. Sometimes I'm standing in the water on the boarding ladder or swim platform to help divers. The Techamphibians beat Crocs, Tevas, and everything else I've tried. The comfort is amazing and I really like feeling the breeze on my feet. I didn't notice any abrasion on my barefeet as some reviews mentioned. I didn't notice them being too narrow either. I feel very sure footed, even when the seas are rough and the deck is moving lively. Best of all they don't stink when plankton in the seawater dries on them. With other water shoes the dead plankton works into small places and smells like week old fish after awhile. Not Techamphibians; I just turn the hose on them after a trip, let them dry in the sun and problem solved. I also used these shoes when biking and just hanging around. They're great.

I hate to take these things off.
One of the best shoe buys I have made in a long time. Great as a boat shoe, light hiker (especially in our neighboring park that has a lot of low lying water accumulation) or just hanging around the house. I have trouble finding comfortable shoes, but I can wear these all day without a problem. The look of the shoe is more distinctive than the typical deck shoe/athletic shoe and the lace system and heel adjustment straps are effective in getting just the right fit. I think the Techamphibian is superior in fit and appearance to the comparable Merrell shoe which I also own.

Replacement Techamphibian -
My husband, daughter and I all bought the Techamphibian for a trip we took last summer to Costa Rica. We all loved these shoes and wore them the whole two weeks for hiking, water activities, and sightseeing. My daughter's and mine held up well but my husband's were defective and the netting at the heel ripped out immediately. It was months before Zappos had them in his size again but he finally has his replacement pair and is very happy with them. My only complaint about the shoe is they don't dry out all that quickly so some days we were putting wet shoes back on in the morning. On the other hand, as we were required to travel "light" they made a great shoe for all our activities.

This shoe for Mexico -
I have had this shoe for about a year. I had had it six months when I went into the Copper Canyons of Mexico for three months. This shoe was great. Only two things I have to say is that small rocks would get caught in the shoe (like when crossing a river, ouch) and you would have to take them off and get ‘em out. Two were thorns, the soles were soft and I would find 10-15 thorns stuck in the soles (one or two would stab me that, kinda sucked). I was there for three months and walked about 10 miles a day in the bush desert and mountains. In the city they are killer wonderful, comfortable shoes.

I have owned these for well over a year and have put it through a ton of work. I love Salomon products and own quite a few pairs. The Techamphibian holds up really well. I did get the stitching on the upside down "v's" of leather you see on the side to wear out; however, this has no effect upon function and I really did beat them. One major problem: poor edges, seams, and stitching on the inside - it is really not finished in there (very unlike Salomon) and honestly I have to wear liners with them which defeats the purpose. I think they are great otherwise so I paid $2 for soft lofty neoprene cut to blanket the top of my foot and a little down the sides, paid shoe guy $5 to stitch it in - now it is the best water shoe. Trying out Columbia Aguatooth now.
