Awesome backpack! I got it in red, and I have loved it so far! It holds all of my stuff, including two big binders and several textbooks. Perfect for a college student who is on campus all day. I love it!

The Dakine Duel backpack is a well-designed midsized pack that is great for work and travel. There are enough pockets to let you put everything in its place, but not so many that you struggle to remember where that place was. I carry mine to work every day and I just took my second flight using it as a carry-on bag. It carried all I needed just in case I had been separated from my luggage. It kept my laptop safe and sound and here is an important point. The laptop has its own compartment that is well protected from bumps and any items that might be rolling around inside the pack. The pack is very sturdy and would hold up well to abuse. It will likely last a very long time with a minimum of care. The pack looks great and is perfect for those not looking for a ski/skate/snowboard/surf pack, though it can carry a skateboard. It is definitely a pack a guy can carry to work without any worries. Cannot go without saying a word about Zappos. What an awesome company! Their service is second to none. I ordered my Duel in the morning and UPS was delivering it the very next evening. I have purchased three backpacks in the last month and each experience was the same. I am a customer for life!

I purchased this backpack for my high school son who is a senior. As most teens, he is picky about style, color, and function. This had it all. In the weeks since purchase, he has stuffed it full of books, jackets, etc. It has worn exceptionally well.

Perfect Backpack, The Duel. I just purchased my second Dakine Duel and I'm writing my first review of the pack. I own several backpacks and the Duel is my favorite. I have it in the olive and black, and both are as stylish as they are functional. The Duel is a very sturdy pack and effortlessly handles heavy loads. It easily carries my 13-inch MacBook and wouldn't have any problem with a 15-inch. I especially like the fact that it has a separate zippered area for the laptop keeping it isolated from anything that might be floating around inside the bag. Pay attention to the cubic inches in the product description; the Duel is what I'd call a midsized bag. I carry it to work everyday and I consider it the perfect size for this type of function. It fits easily in the overhead compartment or under your seat when you're traveling and want to keep important belongings close by. The Duel seems to have the perfect combination of compartments unlike some other bags I've seen. If you need something larger I highly recommend the Dakine Campus. However, if you don't need to haul huge loads and want a sturdy, good looking backpack the Duel is it.

This backpack is awesome! Both my kids (a boy in 5th grade and a girl in Middle School) wanted this backpack, but got different colors. They have been using them for 3 weeks now. The packs are well-made with strong stitching. The insulated area is not as big as I would've liked. It's good enough for a sandwich, a Capri Sun and maybe a small bag of chips, but it's better than having to carry a backpack and a lunch bag. It has plenty of room for all their books, binders and supplies and the large straps with rubbery stuff where it hits the shoulders/chest, keeps it in place without moving around while they walk. This is the best pack they've ever had!

I ordered this bag in black and I really like it. I wanted a bag designed to hold my 13 inch laptop, and this bag does the job well. I like the size of the organizer pocket (not too big, so your pens stay in one place) and I like the fleece-lined pocket, where I put my phone and iPod. The cooler pocket is handy, but I'd be more inclined to stick my power adapter in there. The padding on the shoulder straps could be thicker, but they're still pretty comfy, especially if you use the sternum strap (which will look dorky). This bag would be great as a carry-on bag, especially if you're taking your laptop. It works well if you're a student, but the main compartment won't hold more than a handful of notebooks.

I really like this bag. It looks good; the shoulder straps provide amazing support; and it isn\'t bulky, but does have sufficient room for my books or an overnight change of clothes. ...I have a 15.6" Dell and it fits comfortably in the external laptop sleeve. (I don\'t think you could go larger than that.) I do miss the cushy AIRFLOW padding and couple extra pockets that my Swiss bag had. But, overall, I\'m satisfied with my purchase.

Found this bag instead of the one that I originally wanted, and I am very pleased that I chose it instead. Lots of pockets to store stuff, and comfy even with a laptop inside. Thinking of buying another one.

I own nothing but Justin boots - 5 pairs and counting. I wear them to ride our horses, take care of the farm and for going out. Always order 1/2 size smaller than usual size - even Justin's website recommends this. The wiggle in the heel and rubbing of the tops on legs is easily overcome with western boot socks. They're made for cowboy boots and snug your foot to avoid the blisters. Best boots ever.

Perfect for short trip air travelers -
This backpack looks pretty cool; even better, the outer laptop sleeve fits an IBM Thinkpad, and you can get it out quick at the security checkpoint without disrupting your packed clothes and other stuff. This is perfect for short term travel for work or whatever, without having to look like a corporate drone with your black leather corporate drone portfolio. Plus the front bottom pocket is insulated and specially designed to hold three Red Bull cans. It's like they know me.

It was love at first sight.
I saw this bag online, and loved it. I bought this bag, and waited. When I opened the box, it was love at first sight! It protects my laptop and all my electronics, and looks so stylish when I'm walking down the street with it. I'm planning on buying another just like it so when it wears out (and from the sturdy construction that might never happen) I have another just like it.

Great bag!
Overall the bag is great. Since it is white it does get dirty pretty easily.

 | | Zappos, You are the BEST retailer I have ever dealt with, hands down. You make the purchase easy, the product is great and your return policy makes it a risk-free experience. The person I spoke with in customer service was wonderful. I'm glad my search for vegan shoes led me to your company. Sincerely, Pam B. | | ~ Pam B., October 15 2009
