I have always had a hard time finding a comfortable boot until I found La Canadienne. I am on my feet all day and with these boots it's okay. They look great with a pair of slim jeans tucked in. Great boot and as usual Zappos has great service. Thanks so much!

Love this boot! I was looking for a knee high boot that would look good with skirts, but not have a high heel. This hits the mark. The leather is very nice and was comfortable right out of the box. I have a narrow foot and this fit quite well even though it is a medium width.

Footbed fits great, shaft is sloppy. All the reviews that say the footbed is comfortable are right on; it is! True to size in both length and width. However, the calf is so big and floppy that it wasn't attractive at all, so back they go. The leather is soft and the fleece lining seems warm. For this price the fit has to be good, and I didn't feel like spending more money to get the shaft taken in. Alas, the search for the perfect boot continues.

I was looking for a classic boot that I could wear with everything. They needed to have low heels because I want to be comfortable in them all day, and I don't want to tower over my husband. These boots fit the bill! They are great for this price point!

After my old boots wore out from 4+ years of use, I wanted to look for something a little different, mainly comfortable. I went through four orders of boots before I found the perfect pair. These are it! They fit my feet like a glove, and my heel doesn't slip around like it does in all other boots. Really, it fits more like a shoe than any other boot I have tried. I tried on Ecco, Ralph Lauren, and Fryes, among others. None of them compare to these. If you have thicker calves, I would recommend a different boot. Be sure to measure the circumference of your calves before purchasing. Overall, highly recommended, especially for people with slender legs who don't want to look like they are swimming in their boots.

These boots are awesome! I have small calves. So I find it very challenging to get boots that fit my calves properly. These boots are the right size and very comfortable. I highly recommend them.

I looked at probably 6 pairs of boots before picking these. They are nice looking - simple, with clean lines. They are perfectly comfortable. Their heel height is ideal for me, high enough to look more professional than hip but low enough to comfortably walk on for any distance. I find the width of the calf ideal as well. I can just zip them up over jeans. I haven\'t had them for long enough to know how well they will wear, but I am very happy with them so far.

I looked forever for the perfect boot. So far, this is it. I bought the brown last year. Heel is high enough for style without compromising comfort. Classic look, great leather, and they keep my feet dry, even in rain country. Liked them enough to buy the black ones this year. The fit is right on size.

These boots weren't right for me. I was really trying to like these boots but I agree with one of the reviewers who wrote that the leather could be much better. For the hefty price I would expect a high quality leather but was surprised that that wasn't so. It looked cheap. It did feel comfortable but I did not like the look. However I may order a different type of boot from La Canadienne because of the comfort. My quest for the perfect riding boot continues.

They’re all right -
The leather could be much nicer. They are very comfortable and warm. They are worth the money for the look. The quality is questionable. It’s hard to find a nice simple round toe boot and this was the closest I could find. Kinda worth it only b/c I could not find another boot like this.

Another great boot by La Canadienne -
The Passion boot is another great waterproof and stylish boot by La Canadienne. It's also comfortable enough to wear all day. I have another pear by this maker which I wear in the aftermath of light snow and then towel off, use a little de-salter on and it's good as new. Their wide boots (D) are a true wide fit.

Just as the reviews raved, this boot is unbelievably comfortable. I come in from outside and don't bother to take them off. I love the brown; it's dark enough to wear with black. I would/will continue to purchase La Canadienne boots, perhaps exclusively. Big bonus, they are waterproof and although I'm not in knee high snow, I can go out in New England winter and spring, not worrying about the boot. I am a 7.5-8 in shoes and the 7.5 fit perfectly.

These boots are wonderful. Great fit, comfort and they are waterproof. I wear them to football games, parks, church, shopping, anywhere. They are timeless, and I will get many years of wear from them. Good quality, great price, would buy again.

I love these boots. They are warm and comfortable and look great with jeans. The size 10 I bought feels a bit wide, but I just wear a thicker sock. Great for those cold, wet winter days.

I work in the film industry, and put the miles on my feet...up and down ladders, running around, you name it I do it, 12 to 16 hrs. a day...Keen socks, hands down is the most comfortable sock I have ever owned, it sounds corny, but the total truth...awesome, I've also got a couple pair of their shoes...heaven, really great stuff all around, worth every cent.

Well-made, but doesn't look chic -
Looks like my hunt is still on for chic winter boots. It's unfortunate because, as a size 10, this pair fit beautifully in the foot. It also makes your foot look small. But if you have skinny calves and a bigger foot, forget it. As a riding boot, I wanted a sleek, narrow shaft and this is not. But the biggest reason I'm sending this back...the waterproof leather does not look like you spent more than $100. It's a rather generic-looking boot and I was hoping for something a bit richer. It's a shame - the fit in the foot area is divine.

My perfect boots!
I've been looking for the perfect boots for a long time now, and I'm ridiculously picky, so it's been hard. I wanted something comfortable, but stylish, practical (i.e. water resistant at least), but not utilitarian-looking, a bit of a heel, but not too much, and no buckles or any other extra decoration. After reading the reviews, I decided to try this boot and it's everything I wanted! Some reviewers have mentioned that the top of the boot gaps a bit around narrower calves; it does, a bit, but I like the look (I'm comparing it to my cheapo synthetic leather stretch boots, which have a skintight fit and thus seem inappropriately sexy for work - my husband calls them my "Catwoman" boots...). I plan to wear these all the time, for years. Love them!

I LOVE These Boots!
A friend of mine recommended these - I had been looking for over a year for the clean classic "riding" boot. These are elegant and unbelievable comfortable - I forget that I'm wearing them - something that NYC streets rarely let you do when you walk everywhere. They're very warm, well built, the heel is super durable, have a good grip, and they look fantastic. My only complaint is that I wish they were just a little bit tighter around the calf, other than that, they're perfect! I would love to buy the brown variation, too! Funny story, I walked into work and my colleague had a new pair of boots that she found on the upper west side, two hours later my La Canadienne Passion boots showed up and we realized we had independently bought the exact same boot (except hers are brown)! Then we found out that most of the other girls in our office also wear La Canadienne boots - all said they were their favorite thing to wear. Amazing!
It's not too good to be true - yes they're a bit of an investment, but worth every penny you spend!

La Canadienne Passion boot -
I've been looking for a pair of boots for over a year that I can wear with dresses and skirts. I have a hard to fit size; feet are on the medium/wide range with athletic calves and ordered a 6 1/2 wide. I'm petite and found that sometimes the height of the boot is too long and creates a weird gap at the top. Not these! I've ordered various brands/sizes of boots from different retailers (over 15!) and I have to say that I'm sooo excited to have found ones that fit. Not too loose in the ankle area and fits my calves. I might just order it in the brown color, too! Definitely recommend them to those with wide feet and calves! Yay!

Nice looking boot -
Love this boot. A bit disappointed in the zipper stitching. I hope the threads don't fall apart. Not sure if this is just a flaw. HOWEVER, the look and feel of the leather is well worth the big bucks. Can't wait for it to be cold so I can wear them.

NICE BOOTS FOR COLD AND RAIN -
These are great boots for wearing over skinny jeans to keep your legs warm and dry in rainy weather. The zipper up the side makes it easy to get on and off and to stuff jeans or pants into. They are plain looking, which I like, without belts buckles or glitz. But they have a classic riding boot look with all the comfort. I bought a W wide so my toes wouldn't feel squished with a sock, and there was still plenty of room in the shoe for a padded footpad with a higher arch. Now they are really comfy for walking around downtown. Rain or not, they are perfect for keeping your feet warm!

Finally a shoe for skinny calf ladies - I love this boot. It is absolutely comfortable, great quality and true to fit. I am a size 8 with 13 1/2 calves. This boot is great. Just received and tried on out of the box...can't wait to wear out. The perfect looking riding style boot – and believe me I have been looking for a LONG time.

Versatile and attractive -
Good looking, versatile and comfortable boots. They could use more arch support so I put an insert in them. Also I needed to stretch the forefoot because my heel is narrow and my forefoot is relatively wide. But I have a hard time finding boots and shoes that are comfortable so I am happy with these now and think they will feel even better the more I wear them.

Warm, dry boot -
I like the fleece lining- it kept my feet warm all winter in snow and rain. My feet never got wet. The style is also pretty cute- I only have two complaints- the top of the boot isn't very snug on calves and so it looks more casual and the toe area got very warped from use, and even though I use shoe trees to maintain the shape, the shape hasn't held up well in the toe and looks a bit sloppy.
