Wonderful boots - I ordered these boots in brown size 7. These boots look amazing with pants, skirts and dresses. Very comfortable, the leather is very soft. It feels like a "glove."

LOVE These!!
I love these boots. I have been keeping an eye on them since last winter, around holiday time. I found them in Bloomingdale's in NYC and decided to shop around for a lower price, which I couldn't find. I waited and waited and finally got a sale price here at Zappos about 1 week ago. I LOVE them! I ordered an entire size up (usually I take an 8.5 but when I tried them on in NYC, 8.5 felt tight) and they fit perfectly. Nice sturdy boot you will LOVE! Looking forward to wearing them this winter in the cold weather!!

Great except for my ankle -
I love the style and the sturdiness of this boot. After wearing it about an hour, the indentation of leather above my left ankle began to rub on my leg. I kept thinking that it would go away or soften, but after several days of wearing it, it continues to chafe against my leg so that I must put on a large band aid on that area to protect myself from the pain. And this is while wearing knee socks!

Timeless -
Very comfortable boot. I like the feminine details and the low heel. I had to go up half a size, otherwise fits well. To me, the style is timeless, so I will wear this boot for years to come.

Amazing boots!
These are the best boots I've ever owned. They are extremely comfortable, very stylish, and truly waterproof as advertised. I live in Michigan, and we've been getting tons of snow and rain this winter. These boots have kept me dry through all of it. Go ahead and step right into that slush puddle that's overtaken the sidewalk; in these boots, your feet will stay dry. These boots also have terrific traction on slippery surfaces and they are comfy even if you do a lot of walking. Plus, they are really cute and a little dressy, unlike most weatherproof boots.

These boots might be the best footwear purchase I've ever made. They're incredibly cute, really comfortable, and outstanding for the slushy, icy, snowy Michigan winters. La Canadiennes are outstanding for those of us cursed with living in wintery climates.

Love it the second time around!
I purchased these boots in black over a year ago and adore them. Easy to walk in through many airports, low heel yet a little something (not flat), like the vintage look and heel rather than a wedge. They have held up perfectly over the last year. Leather is SO soft! Have spent this winter trying to find a pair of brown boots that feel and wear as nicely as my black ones. Tried La Canadienne Kara, Kris, Taylor as well as Sofft and John Fleuvog. Broke down and bought the brown Tahras. They arrived last night and I love them just as much as the black ones. Straight out of the box they feel great! The brown is mottled just as it looks on the website. Dark brown with a vintage look. Get these boots - you won't be sorry!

This is a beautifully made boot. It is made from the softest and lightest leather; it hardly seems possible that it could be this warm and durable. It was comfortable right away, too. I put it on and off I went! It is all I wear, now. This boot exceeded all my expectations even after reading all the positive feedback from the other reviewers. Charming and comfortable.
This boot is such a pleasure: it looks good and feels better. I love La Canadienne boots, and was happy that this taller boot was no exception. I have narrow feet with high arches but wide toes, and these fit well. I also have plantar fasciitis so my feet often ache, and this boot at least provides some comfort for the sole. Nice heel height, too: a little lift but very easy to walk in and live in all day long.

Love this boot!
Completely worth the price. I have slightly larger than normal calves, and usually can't fit into anything but stretchy boots. However, I had a pair of La Canadienne boots previously that fit well, so I decided to try these. I was able to zip them all the way to the top! What a pleasant surprise for a leather boot! I am a true 8 1/2, and after reading the reviews, I ordered a 9; it fits very well with a small sock. The detail really makes this boot; it will look great with pants or skirts. Love, love, love it!

Not your average black knee high dress boot!
Just received these from my husband for xmas and I couldn’t be more thrilled! The quality of the leather is unlike any other pair of shoes I've ever owned -- so soft and plush, yet waterproof and durable. The waterproof construction and soft moisture-wicking linings are top notch. I like the unique, curved, short stack heel, which is comfortable to wear at the office all day and pairs well with anything from jeans to skirts. And finally, the mary jane perfed scallop detail and rounded toe make the boot unlike any other I've seen. It's nice to slip into a pair of black dress boots that don't look like everybody else's!

These boots are so comfortable, cool and sexy; I broke down and bought them in brown, too! Buttery smooth and great with pants and dresses. Expensive, yes, but sometimes you just have to treat yourself! Couldn't find anything else close. Very, very happy with these treasures!

Cute, comfy and a little different -
Bay area winters started me on a 3-year quest for cute, comfortable and waterproof boots... and these fit the bill. The styling is cute and a little different from everything else out there, the leather is incredibly soft, with a warm cushy lining, and the heel height is just right for me. I'm tall and have thin calves, so the boots look a teensy bit short and gap a bit at the top, but no one can tell when I wear them with black tights (or pants, of course). I teach at a school with a lot of open space between the buildings, and these boots have been great for standing all day in front of the class AND walking across campus (even on the wet lawn). Expensive, yes, but they're SO comfortable and I plan to wear them for several years, so they definitely seem worth it.

Great feminine boot for with skirts!
I have been so impressed with these boots - they are warm, waterproof, and very feminine. The rounded toe is very comfortable, and the heel is just the right height and width. It's got a sexy little curve to it, and isn't so skinny that it will be stuck in between cobblestones. The lacing at the back is vaguely reminiscent of a corset, and the detailing is a sweet addition. These were pretty tight around my slightly-wider-than-average calves the first time I put them on, but have since stretched out just enough without losing their smooth fit on the leg. Yes, they are expensive, but I view them as a solid investment and have been really pleased so far! They've made it through Boston snow and stayed warm and dry, so I'm sold!

These boots are exceedingly cute, amazingly comfortable and so easy to walk in. The calf width is a little wider than other Canadienne styled, so people wit narrow calves like myself might need some tall wool socks to help fill them in. The leather looks better in person than the photographs. I didn't have to break these boots in to walk all over NYC. Just put them on and went. Wore them in the snow, my feet stayed dry and comfy. A pad for the ball of the foot might help keep toes warmer. Love, love, love this boot and the Canadienne brand. Worth the price tag. I'll wear these boots for years and years to come.

These boots are excellent. I got the black ones. Super comfortable. I usually take a size 6 but ordered the 6.5 after reading the other reviews. My foot is really narrow though and actually ended up returning the 6.5s for a size 6 in the end. They were a little tight in the heel at first but have now loosened up and fit perfectly. Otherwise, there's virtually no break-in time. The boots are comfortable from the get-go. They are expensive but they're beautifully made, super stylish and very comfortable. Totally worth it. I think they'll last a long time. If had the cash, I'd get the brown ones too!

Love them - instantly!
I live in NYC and walk around probably 5 miles a day. These are wonderful boots - I have narrow feet and low arches and they felt great as soon as I put them on. Stable when I walk (no wobbling on the heel), no pinching, and no chafing. And awesome looking. Worth the money.

These boots were made for walking, dancing and moving!
I LOVE the La Canadienne's Tahra Boots. I bought them in black and loved them so much I bought a pair in brown to go with the rest of my wardrobe. It is so wet and cold in Seattle they are the perfect boot. I feel bad for my other shoes because I can't seem to wear anything but my black and brown Tahra. I have never owned a boot/shoe that is so comfortable! It’s all I can do to not order another La Canadienne's boot in suede or other assortments. I also like the philosophy and mission statement behind the Canadian Company regarding their workers.

Some of the best boots EVER -
I am thrilled with these boots! They're fashionable, good for my narrow calves, comfortable to walk in, and stable, which is a huge issue because I'm pregnant. (I would recommend these to ANY pregnant lady who's looking for a cute pair of winter boots that she won't fall over in.) I agree with all the reviews that advise you to order one size up -- I'm normally a 5.5, and the 6 fit perfectly, but I ultimately bought the 6.5 because a) my feet are a little swollen with pregnancy, and b) they're big enough to accommodate and orthotic, which is helpful when your back hurts. Superfeet insoles fit GREAT in these, if you need a little more support.

 |  | I just wanted to take the time to say THANK YOU! I am extremely impressed with the manner in which you handled my first transaction. A little back ground...I have two little girls and the 'world comes to an end' if one gets something new and/or special, and the other one doesn't. Monday their grandparents bought my youngest girl a new pair of shoes that flash ('sparkle shoes' my oldest calls them), but they were unable to find the same flashing shoes in a larger size for my oldest girl. Needless to say, this situation was not acceptable with my oldest daughter (...cue a lot of screaming and fighting over a silly pair of shoes...). We searched everywhere to find similar shoes for my oldest daughter, to no avail. For some reason the universe is out to destroy my sanity and we could not find any 'sparkle shoes' for her. So I went online as a last resort, as I didn't want to have to wait 5-7 more days to receive the shoes. I found Zappos.com and was impressed by the selection of sizes and shoes available for kids, not to mention at a reasonable price. So I bought the shoes on Wednesday and was expecting to receive them no earlier than the following Monday, which, in my 2 year old daughter’s mind was sometime in the next millennium! To my surprise, I received an email stating my order was upgraded to a faster shipping method for FREE and was going to be processed and shipped later in the day on Wednesday. To my daughter’s delight I just received my tracking information and discovered that my order was shipped overnight to us and would be delivered by 3pm on Thursday. We will be receiving her new 'sparkle shoes' about 24 hours after I placed the order online. THANK YOU! You have, at the very least, made a little girl extremely happy and earned a customer for life. It’s amazing how much free shipping (even standard ground) can motivate someone to use your site, but to go ahead and upgrade to overnight shipping at no charge...Wow.
