Great for work & happy hour, too! Really well-made, stylish boot. From an owner of solely Dr Marten's, these boots are a nice change of pace. They're as sturdy as Doc's but a little more refined in the fit and finish. I almost bought another pair in the lighter color as well, but managed to restrain myself. I'm looking forward to trying other Red Wing boots in the future, but I'll never be far from my Docs!

Well built boot. The 2E size is narrower than that, more like a D, but they broke in pretty fast and the wide is acceptable now.

Fantastic quality and seemingly great durability. A long break in period but it seems it will be worth the wait. The color is great with variation in the leather that looks aged, but still fresh. Very difficult to pull on and even harder to remove but this too seems to be loosening up over the weeks. They feel narrower than my other boots these replaced (Blundstones). I normally wear a 13 but this 11.5 fits my length perfectly, if a touch narrow.

A Classic Boot, But Not for Everyone -
I think this is a great looking boot. The style has been around for years. You can wear it around town or for outdoor projects.
It is not as comfortable as the Irish Setter Boot that is similar to, and the Irish Setter boot is a about half the price, but not nearly as good looking. Perhaps over time the Red Wing will fit better, it is a better made product. It would be good to compare the two when shopping if you are looking for a six inch slip-on boot. I have a bad knee and the elevation of the heel causes me a problem. That is a personal issue, for someone without a knee injury I doubt it would be a problem. The Irish Setter doesn't have the heel elevation and so would most likely have been the better choice for me.
I own a pair of slip-on Red Wing shoes that are far more comfortable and suitable for the yard work I had intended to use these shoes for.
I like the boots a lot, but may not get the use out of them that I thought I would for the reasons I've stated.

Tough shoe -
First, Zappos is Awesome. You guys understand shoe customers! This boot is a full size larger than my normal size- I had to return two pairs to get it right. I'm EE, and the width fits nicely. The materials are super tough, and the boot is correspondingly stiff. It'll take a long time to wear in. With a fantastic, classic look, these boots won't be going out of style before they wear out.

Great Boot -
Similar to another reviewer, I've owned two pairs of Blundstone boots over the years and opted for these this time because the soles of the Blunnies cracked at the ball of my foot on both pairs. I doubt I'll have that problem with the Red Wings - they have a much more substantial sole, but they aren't quite as comfortable as the Blunnies. This isn't a complaint, but if someone is considering these that is familiar with the Blundstones, the elastic at the top is much tighter on the Red Wings, thus they're a bit harder to pull on. So far I'm digging them - I suspect they'll last for years.

Great boots -
I purchased the Chelsea boots on Zappos about a week ago. They are great! I already have a pair of the Gentleman Travelers, which I am very happy with-that's why I decided to get another pair of RedWings.
I purchased these to replace a similar style Blundstone boot. These are better in most ways-they have a full leather midsole, so they can be resoled when the time comes. They have better foot/arch support, and the leather is higher-quality. They fit true to size for me in this style.
I am very impressed with these-yes, they cost a bit more, but in the long run, you will easily get your money's worth out of them, plus the advantage to resole.
My Blunnies (I have owned two pairs) have both cracked through the sole right at the ball of my foot. I am not overly hard on my shoes, and have other sets that haven't done this. I am disappointed that I can't resole them, so I decided to get these-and I am VERY happy I did!

The Cool Work Boot -
I got these last week to replace a ratty old pair of pull-ons that I wore out over the last year. Although these are nearly 3 times the price of the ones I had before, I can tell the craftsmanship is much better, the leather is a higher grade and they'll probably last longer...I hope. All that and they look cool with any pair of jeans or khakis.

 |  | Thank you! I have a grandson whose birthday is November 11th and this will make him a very happy boy! Yes, he does wear size 7 in mens and is only 8 years old. I live in Texas, and with his order going to Michigan, he has to deal with much colder weather, he has a greater need for his comfort in their colder weather. I will be ordering from you for all his clothing needs, but have to confirm, I have a son-in-law who wears size 15 to 15 1/2. I will be shopping for him as well as my daughter who wears women's size 8.
