Runs small. I really like this boot and have been looking at it for a while. I ordered my regular size, 8.5, and it was snug. I could only wear it with a nylon, not even a thin trouser sock. I may reorder in a 9 because I do like the look of the boot a lot.

This is my second pair of La Canadienne Julietta booties. I purchased my black leather pair last year and liked them so much I purchased a brown suede pair this year. With both pairs I purchased one-half size larger to accommodate a warm sock, though for those of you in more temperate climates, the boots have some insulation and may be fine in your normal size. These boots add class to my winter outfits with the defined heel (as opposed to a wedge) and the square toe is classic - doesn't elongate the foot profile, and allows ample room for a sock. The rubber sole tread allows for secure footing on ice and snow surfaces. Though La Canadienne boots are purported waterproof, and certainly my pair last year worn through the winter were, I plan to spray my suede pair with a water/snow seal to make sure moisture doesn't stain the suede. I recommend these boots.

Love 'em! I bought a pair of La Canadienne's last winter season. They are still in great shape, but I love them so much that I bought a second pair to work into the mix this season. I am a true size 9, they fit perfectly. Waterproof and stylish, they are well worth the money. Don't think about it, just buy them! You will get your money's worth wearing them.

I bought a pair of these boots several years ago and have completely worn them out. I was thrilled to see that Zappos offered them and in two colors! They are dressy enough to wear out at night with slacks and comfy enough to wear to the grocery store. They fit beautifully, though I had to go down a half size. They're warm and go through snow and slush like a dream. The low heel is perfect for my bad back. I have a terrible time getting shoes or boots to fit because my feet are narrow, but these are great.

This was my first pair in black and I have just ordered another in brown for this season. I wear a 9N and it's difficult to get anything to fit narrow enough in the heel. I walked 2-3 miles in them almost daily last winter and have no complaints. There's a comfortable height heel, they're warm, and I never hesitated to wear them in slushy awful weather. You can brush them right off. As for people complaining about the lack of support: you won't find the equivalent of a "walking" shoe in a boot with a heel; you'd have to try a hiker-style. These don't offer 2 inches of rubber between you and the pavement, but I think they're quite comfortable without sacrificing style.

A beautiful boot, but I cannot wear them for long periods of time. I have to agree with another poster that they are not made for walking. My feet are killing me after a few hours!

A great boot -
This boot fit true to size. I was looking for a comfortable but fashionable boot for a ski trip. The boot had great traction, comfort while still looking dressy enough in the evening. I'm sure this boot will get a lot of wear.

My 2nd review, after owning them for over a year -
The pluses - they look great, and I've gotten many compliments while wearing them. They are waterproof, and it's great to have a nice looking boot in nasty weather. They have held up great, looking almost as good after owning them and wearing them in bad weather for over a year.
The minuses - they are just not comfortable; there is zero arch support. I've purchased gel inserts to try to help with the discomfort of wearing them, but it isn't enough. It's too bad, bc they are great looking and yet truthfully, I groan a bit inside when I reach for them.
They are not a bit warm. There is no insulation or even any thickness to the suede. Definitely NOT a boot for wearing outside for any length of time in the winter!

Not for Walking -
I was looking for a warm, waterproof, walking boot for my winter trip to Ottawa, Canada. My sister-in-law (a true NYC walker) recommended this brand. I was very happy with the fit and warmth of the boot. Unfortunately the Julietta boots are not made for walking - the sole has no cushioning or support for a long day of city walking. I nixed bringing them on my trip but they are fine for the office.

These boots are super-comfortable, and I like the way they look too. B/c of the not-too-high heel they are good for both work and play. I highly recommend them.

Excellent Snow Boot -
These boots look extremely nice for a snow boot. I can wear them to work, meetings with a suit, and not have to worry about the snow and slush. They are not as warm as a true, insulated snow boot, but they do a very good job.

Another great boot from La Canadienne -
This is my third pair of La Canadienne boots. I LOVE them. They are extremely comfortable, look beautiful with pants as well as with black tights and skirts. I love the heel.
I will keep getting a new pair of this brand boot each year. Totally waterproof, great looking, and comfortable for long walks.

Warm and comfy -
I have many foot issues and cannot wear most shoes. Also, I cannot wear heels for more than a few hours. This is a great boot. Because of my foot problems, I couldn't walk in it all day. But, I have worn it all day (some walking, some sitting) with no pain.
I tried on a pair of my daughter's La Canadienne boots in a different style last winter. I found them very comfortable, which prompted me to order a pair for myself.

I wanted waterproof, good looking boots for the winter.
I live where we get 60" of rain. I am going to visit New York City in Feb. If these boots hold up, I will be very pleased. I usually take W, but because of the reviews got WW. I am so glad. It gives room for warm socks.

La Canadienne boots are the only ones I have found in wide widths that are still stylish. They are comfortable, warm, waterproof and look great!

These boots are awesome and worth the money. I have 2 pairs. The suede holds up well in wet conditions, like snow. I can easily wear this all day. Look great with jeans or casual wear. I'm glad they have a narrow size, but I bought the medium wide so I can wear my orthotics.

Good solid boot -
I kept these in the box for nearly a month, not sure if I wanted to keep them or not. I was looking for something a little more stylish, but I couldn't find anything else more suitable and now I'm glad I kept them. I intended to wear them mainly for commuting, but they're comfortable as an all-day wear and now I won't have to get out the heavy boots on messy winter days. The style's growing on me, too. I wear a 7.5W and these felt true to size. I wouldn't want to wear a really thick sock with them.

My Julietta boots arrived today and they are perfect! I have a wide foot with a high arch that can be difficult to fit. But the boots are a perfect fit and feel very comfortable. I, like many of the other reviewers, was a little turned off by the price. However, I feel that the quality and fit make the boots worth the price... we just won't tell my husband the true cost! As always, wonderful customer service from Zappos.

I really love these boots. I tried on three different styles of La Canadienne's short boots. These were by far the most comfortable. I have plantar fasciitis and these feel good on my feet the whole day. The best part I live in Seattle where we have very rainy weather. These are good no matter what the weather. Warm but not too warm. I have worn them on 60 degree fall days and 40 degree rainy days. Work and play. They look great! I have gotten lots of compliments. I wonder if I should buy a second pair just in case they discontinue them.

I initially hesitated purchasing these boots because of the price, but after reading the reviews, I took the plunge. WOW, I'm glad I did! They were amazingly comfortable right out of the box. I first wore them all weekend on a winery weekend. A little snug around my giant ankles - but I feel they're loosing up there. Much more stylish than the picture shows. They are so worth the money! I am thrilled. I see myself getting lots of use out of these - hopefully this winter and next!

I really like the Julietta overall. Obvious quality in craftsmanship and material, simple elegance, and the weight distribution makes walking in the two inch heel effortless. The only drawbacks are I did need to add arch supports (which made them perfect), and a tiny bit of pressure on the first toe, which I only notice on long walks. These concerns are miniscule and I would recommend them to a friend!

The Service: These were sold out when I first went to purchase so I signed up for the availability email notification. I ordered on a Saturday, got my confirmation as normal. I was incredibly excited to get another email stating my shoes were being given priority shipping and would ship on Monday. What was even more incredible was that I got another email late on Saturday evening with my UPS tracking number – my shoes had been shipped already. GREAT SERVICE AND SHIPPING! The shoes: Very comfortable on. I am breaking them in for a December trip. I wear an 8-8.5 so I ordered an 8.5 medium. They are comfortable wearing thin socks (trouser sock thickness or hiking sock liners) but they are really snug with a thicker wool or cotton hiking sock. I have changed my plans on getting wool socks for my trip and will use the hiking sock liners instead. The boots are warm enough without a thick sock (I hope). The 2" heels feel low, probably because they are thick, so I have no concerns walking around in them for miles. They are light so I'm not worried about packing them in my luggage. They will look fine with both jeans and dressier pants, but I personally would not wear them with a skirt. They come up 3" above my ankle bone, so if you have muscular or thick calves be aware that it may feel snug (I do). I'm just excited to have them and cannot wait to wear them!

Plain, But Worth The Money -
This is the 2nd pair of La Canadienne boots that I have purchased. I am just as pleased with this pair as I was with the first. They are very warm and waterproof. If these are the characteristics you want in a boot (especially in cold climates), this is the boot for you. The lower heel is nice, especially when the time comes to maneuver through the snow. Great investment!

 |  | Dear Zappos, Okay, help me understand something. I place an on-line order last evening at about 8:00. I screw up how to use my store credit and can’t figure out how to fix it. I resort to calling your toll free number to fix my stupid mistake and expect to be on hold for at least 20 minutes. Wow is all I can say! A real live person answers the phone in two rings after I debated with myself whether or not to press the option for joke of the day. He corrects my problem and even makes the decision to not charge my credit card for the less than $2 difference between my store credit and the amount due for the running shoes I ordered. On top of this, the shoes were sitting on my doorstep tonight after I came home from work. I even wore them for my evening workout. How dare you do this in less than 20 hours after my mistake! You just set the customer service pole vault bar at 37 feet in my book! Terrific, terrific service. Thank you very much! I now consider myself a customer for life. You all will have to work very hard to make me buy a pair of shoes from another company. I’m new to Zappos and you can bet I will be looking to Zappos for other purchases! Many thanks... my next order will be tomorrow evening so I can surprise my wife with a new pair of Berks she wants, but actually needs... it isn’t always good to want things!
