Cute, but tough fit for curvy calves -
I pulled these out of the box and was very excited when I got them to within 3 inches of completely zipping up. I tried various techniques of flexing and relaxing my calf to no avail. However, they are cute, definitely soft and felt so comfy up to the point where I couldn't zip them over my calf. Way cuter in real life than in the picture and I had the dark brown version.

Cute boot and comfortable to walk in. I have an 18 inch calf and these boots actually fit. Unfortunately I have average sized ankles and they were way too baggy in the ankles making them very slouchy. So back they go!!!

This boot is cute and comfortable and seems to be good quality, but it ran rather big. The 6.5M fit more like a 7.5M. I have medium-wide calves, but the calves on these boots are rather roomy if you are wearing them without tucking jeans inside. Probably good for those with wide calves. The wedge heel is really cute.

These shoes are GREAT. They are very comfortable and easy to walk in. They are very, very cute. The only possible downside is that they are pretty big on the calves- so not good for skinny legs.

Great boots. Good quality leather. Very comfortable and sexy. The fit is perfect. I have very shapely legs and usually have a problem with the fit of boots but these fit ankle and calf.

Great winter boot!
Yes the ties are sewn into a bow. A seem ripper takes care of that in about 2 minutes. But know that you will have to double knot the ties after because the suede laces don't hold a knot very well, which is probably why they were sewn in the first place. As for the leg being wide, any cobbler can open up the seam down the back of the calf and make them tighter. It's not that expensive. As for warmth - great! I got a half size larger then I wear in wide to make room for double socks and jeans. With a pair of warm knee highs, a thick pair of wool socks and jeans stuffed into them these were perfect at the Winter Carnival in Quebec walking around all day and night in single to negative digit weather. My feet never got cold and the boots were easy on the feet to walk in all around town all weekend. They are also cute and stylish, which you can't say about a lot of winter boots that actually keep your feet warm.

This is a really cute boot and has a great look. Unfortunately it is also too tight through the toe. I ordered it in a 6.5 so that I could wear a winter sock with it, but not only is a winter sock out of the question, but pretty much anything but stockings won't work. Even then it's too tight and uncomfortable. So I will be sending it back.

Look great but need new laces -
They don't stay comfortable all day, but I never wear heels and they feel pretty good overall. I can just barely get them zipped up over my calves, but there is a little bit of elastic at the top so it’s not too much of a problem. I threw out the leather laces as I couldn't keep them from coming untied. I replaced them with 1/2" velvet ribbon from the craft store, about 3 yds for each boot.

The color is great, and the lacing looks even better in person. The look is fabulous. However, the comfort wanes after a while of wear. While the pair I bought was marked wide, it felt more like a regular than a wide. In fact, I tried on the regular size at a department store and I couldn't tell a difference in width between my wide pair and the regulars. I gave the boots 5 stores overall because for a tall boot with a heel, they are probably the most comfortable to be found. I also liked that the shaft of the boot isn't too tight (I have athletic calves).

I've been wearing these shoes for a couple of weeks now and I can't take them off. They are great! I'm 25 and my feet for no reason grew an entire size! So, I wanted to get shoes that were comfortable, could fit my large feet, and were stylish enough for someone my age. Not only are these boots incredibly comfortable and functional, they are so cute. The only negative thing I would say is that if you wear them with pants the tie catches on your pant legs and tightens a little bit. It isn't uncomfortable - just a little annoying.

Fashionable COMFY boots -
Very comfy and very nice boots got a lot of compliments. No break-in required. I've been looking for a nice comfy boots that would fit my wide feet and wide calves for years. I have only one boots that's fashionable and comfy from Timberland but they don't have it anymore. These boots are highly recommended for comfort and looks. Same with Zappos for the excellent service. When it comes to shoes, it's Zappos first from now on.

Love these boots! I was too late to get my normal size and width, so I went for 1/2 size smaller with the wider width. I feel as if I have slippers on when I wear them! Recommend to everyone!

I LOVE these boots -
I had tried on several boots in stores and could not find any that fit well. I expected I would have to send these back and just give up on boots. I was amazed when these boots arrived and not only are they beautiful but are extremely comfortable. I would recommend them highly!

Just got these boots this evening! I have wide feet, high arches, and weak ankles. I put these on and immediately wanted to go dancing. My feet were freed of feeling like canned hams in most shoes/boots. They felt like my comfortable pair of slippers right out of the box, but far far sexier. I'm going to be rockin' these rockin' boots. You should too! I just came back to Zappos and ordered Sofft Tyla...that's how much I love these.

Great boot -
Great fit. Really comfortable. I ordered mine with an extra wide width and I am glad I did because they fit perfect. I bought these for a trip where I did lots of walking and they were the perfect boot. I am looking forward to wearing them with a skirt to show them off a bit more. These are really fun and stylish yet also very functional boots.

Beautiful Boot!
I got the boots for my daughter...she has reported that they are "Super comfortable...the size fits like a glove and they are a beautiful work of craftsmanship." One thing was that they were a little big in the calf but easy to remedy as they have the laces up the back. Still gorgeous and comfy.

Sofft Modena III Sexy comfort, with non-slip tread.
I ordered, and returned a size 6 medium, in the Modena II which was too narrow and small, then ordered the 7 D Modena III, which fits perfect with a sock. This is the best boot I've ever had and, I've had a lot of boots. I'm wildly excited!
They are super comfortable, with a very cushy heel, excellent gripping power, even on a rain slicked street. I put them thru the test. I could walk and dance for days in these boots, without getting sore feet. So stylish too. I've gotten rave reviews from friends, who want them. The lace up back is uber sexy, but, no hassles of tying up, with a side zip too. The style can be both casual and dressy. I'm very pleased!
*Note; Sizing ran snug, so get a half, to whole size larger than your shoe size, and be sure of your width, by printing up a shoe sizing chart. Especially, if you plan on wearing socks for added warmth.

Awesome boots -
I have been searching for a really cute wedge boot for a while thats comfortable also, and I've finally found it! This boot is awesome and super comfy, great for walking around the city and wearing to parties also. Just don't wear them when its wet outside Most of the reviews said these boots are great for big calves, but mine are small and they still look awesome on me!

Great walking boot with style -
I sometimes have a problem with calf size - I'm too wide for the skinny calf boots and too skinny for the wide calf boots, but these fit great. And fantastic to walk in - I wore them new all over Paris and London, and I walk a lot. I couldn't believe I got to the end of the day and my feet weren't killing me after climbing a million stairs in the Metro or standing in line or just walking around. Style-wise, I saw similar boots everywhere, with the detail on the back. Very lightweight, and they pack well. These go well with tights and a skirt or under jeans; they're a bit close-fitting to wear on top of pants. One issue: the zipper sticks a bit, try putting a bit of soap on it or using something to help the pull. Highly recommended.

I purchased the black suede, which is beautiful. Out of the box (which Zappos was fantastic about getting to me!) they were comfy. The only thing is I wear a size 8-8.5 and I ordered an 8. The feet were a tad bit roomy (even with my bunions) so a 7.5 might have been a better choice, but they are out of my size. Oh well... I will just have to wear thicker socks. Also, the bow is stitched closed and the calf is slightly big, but as said in other reviews, easily remedied! I really like this boot and love that you are wearing a heel without feeling or looking like it!

Great for the "bigger calf"-
These are GREAT boots. I have a wide foot and a big calf (18") and this boot (ordered in wide) fits PERFECTLY! The leather is soft and supple; it does not pinch the leg at all! The wedge heel gives it a feminine look with comfort! I wore them brand new all day and my feet did not hurt.
