Most difficult foot to fit - and he is also 12 -
Our 12 year attended a black tie ball last Friday where lace-up shoes were necessary. He has a 9EEEE (yes, that is 4E's!) and wears flip flops 24/7 as we live in California.
Not only did he "OK" these on line, he wore them Friday, and also Saturday out to dinner. In his words, they looked "fine" and felt "great".

A great all around shoe -
This is a great shoe for the money. I have owned Rockports before and will continue to by them. I wind up walking several miles between buildings within our complex each day, so having a durable, comfortable, waterproof shoe with good traction is a must.

Too hot -
Nice looking shoe and comfortable, too. But they are too hot. The waterproofing just traps the heat in. I regret buying them for that reason.

Feels like a sneaker -
I bought these prior to a business trip to Europe where I knew I would be doing a lot of walking in potentially wet weather. The shoes did not require any breaking in, and have been extremely comfortable from the start. Overall, I liked the look of the shoes out of the box, but after logging a few weeks in the shoes, I feel that the upper creases too much almost across the whole upper, which was noted in another review. I figured that this was a result of the material chosen to provide the water resistance. Other dress shoes I have tend to crease only along the top of my toes, not all the way up to the laces. Even with my feet flat on the floor, the tops are now wavier than I would prefer. Other than that, I found the shoes to be exactly as advertised, and a good value for the price. Zappos’ overnight shipping is always a pleasant surprise.

Longer than expected -
All my size 9 shoes measure 11 1/2" long. This one came in over 12". I just ordered the 8.5 to hopefully get a shorter shoe. It does not feel right on the walk test. The 4e extra wide is a winner for my luau feet. Everything else is great.

The shoe pinched my little toe. They have to be returned. Very disappointed in this Rockport.

Waterproof with a good look -
These shoes have a good look and are most useful for everyday use in different weather situations. They feel slightly tighter than marked for width.

Comfortable good looks -
This is my second or third pair of these. I like its' good looks, and its exemplary comfort. Only way it could be improved would be to make it a more durable/long lasting. The soles wear a bit too quick, unlike all the other Rockports I've had. Still the best dress shoe for people who have to be on their feet a lot.

Super Comfy -
I am super impressed with this shoe, and I am not usually moved by shoes. I wear these shoes 10-14 hrs a day, walking in the office and on the plant floor. They continue to provide great support for my arch and heel.

Wonderful out of the box.
I put these on right out of the box and they were good to go for the rest of the day. I didn't think they needed any breaking in at all.

Great shoe!
I bought these shoes for a wedding and they turned out to be the best thing I could have bought. They are extremely comfortable and can be worn for long periods of time without any irritation or discomfort. They come with a nice shine to them and are also already broken so there is no worry about having a stiff shoe upon arrival. Overall I would definitely recommend this shoe to anyone looking for a stylish and very comfortable dress shoe.

Evander - shiny and bright -
Be aware that this is a waterproof shoe. Not exactly sure what materials are used to make it waterproof, but I did not see that noted when I purchased the shoe (I may have overlooked it). It is very very shiny; this may not be to your liking.
However, it is very comfortable for those who need to accommodate inserts.

Not for a heavy user...
I bought these shoes because I heard that Rockport was a good brand and I needed good everyday dress shoes to save my Bostonians some wear. These are not good everyday dress shoes unless you seldom walk and never genuflect or kneel. Immediately after I began wearing them they developed unsightly wrinkles and within a week the "leather uppers" started peeling. The uppers may have leather, but I think it is just a veneer. I will never buy these shoes again.

Nice but quirks -
The shoes are comfortable overall (3E/4E foot) but the seam at the back rubs my heel and the front has creased. But I have noticed similar creasing on other men with similar style (but different brand) shoe.
Don't get me wrong, I can live with the flaws and I really like the shoes.

I ordered these shoes for my seventeen year old son. I ordered his normal size. When the shoes arrived, the shoe was about one size too big. I ordered a size smaller. In less than twenty-four hours I had returned the first pair (free shipping) and received the shoes in the correct size. My son loves these shoes. He wore the shoes to a wedding and received a lot of compliments. Zappos.com is my new shoe store for the entire family!!!

The ordering process was as easy as actually being in a brick and mortar store, payment was a breeze, and shipping was unheard of!
