I'm 56 years old and have been playing baseball all my life. So you can imagine all the baseball shoes I have worn, These shoes bar none are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I would recommend these to everyone.

The Adidas Turf Hog LE Mid is a great buy. I saw them at a local Sports Authority, but not in my size. Zappos came through once again. The softball fields on which we play are normally pretty dry and hard, so I decided against a normal cleat and bought the Turf Hog. They are more comfortable than regular cleats, easier on the feet, but still giving the traction I needed. Another benefit that I was unaware of was that the regular shoe was a bit wider than normal shoes, which helped give additional support since I have wide feet. The Mid also helps with extra ankle support, since it's a bit higher than a low cleat. I'm very happy with the purchase. The price was also a nice surprise; great value for the money.

The shoe was not too heavy and had a nice grip and most important, it is quite comfortable to wear. The material is quite breathable because of its mesh-like texture. The downside is that it may absorb more water when playing in the rain than a leather shoe.

Fits a wide foot!
My 13 year old son has an EEE foot. Nearly impossible to find cleats (except New Balance). These fit him so well, they are his cleat of choice, even on dirt fields. The removable insole allows for his full orthotics as well.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: All the New Balance cleats

Good all-around softball shoe -
I've tried lots of softball shoes with different spike patterns over the years, this is one of the best. In Arizona the infields can become hard and the nine-spike (large, hard plastic spikes) patterns can slip when running or throwing. This pattern grips well. With the outer spikes turned outward to grip when rounding the bases. In all my sports shoes I replace the stock insole with a high quality gel insole, gaining better shock absorption and arch support.

 |  | Dear Zappos, My daughter (Morgan) is a student at Ohio State University.
Approximately one month ago she had emergency gall bladder surgery. On Tuesday, September 15th, she had a follow up with her surgeon before she was to leave to move into her dorm on Thursday, September 17th. At the appointment, the surgeon advised that under no circumstances was she to lift over ten pounds until the end of October. We were told to that she would have to use a rolling book bag. My friend highly recommended Zappos.com. On Tuesday, September 15th, Morgan and I picked out a book bag from Zappos. Morgan was so anxious to place her online order, she did not choose the priority shipping option. I called Zappos within 15 minutes of her placing the order. Your customer service rep was very kind and far exceeded my customer service expectations by making me a VIP and offering to waive the
overnight fee. I was very impressed and very grateful. The bag arrived overnight as promised, but it was too small. I hated to return the book bag because your rep had been so kind. Yesterday, a beautiful get well bouquet arrived at our home for Morgan. It was from Zappos! There is no way I will return that bag without picking something else out from Zappos. In addition, I want EVERYONE to know what a wonderful company you are. I am so impressed and cannot thank you enough Zappos! Also, thank you for giving me the e-mail address to send my feedback.
