The shoe is attractive, and felt true to size. And it is roomy in the toe-box area, which is a problem with shoes that I use for the treadmill and light jogging because I tend to push forward.

Great shoe - I have found New Balance produces a great shoe for me when they use a S-2 last (which is narrow in the heel and wide and deep in the toe box). This is the first time I have tried this particular model, and it is great. I like the cushioning and although it is fairly firm, it is very comfortable, even on longer walks/runs.

Not the best fit for me...
Loved this shoe, but something about the alignment with my legs is off...after a few weeks of wearing them my ITBS was back. If it weren't for that, I would love this shoe - nice big toe box.

Fantastic shoes for my duck feet - 100% the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. These are nice looking shoes, especially for my 5.5EE feet. I had a severe ankle break a few years back, and am also overweight, and have had these shoes for several months now without any problems. I am entering nursing clinicals this fall, and intend to buy another pair! I will never try to get my foot into something that doesn't fit again!

Supinating beginning runner -
I have a problem with supination (rotating my feet outward) when I run. Because of this I need a shoe that doesn't allow me to do this. This shoe fits the bill. I hope it lasts a while.

Cute and wide!
I have a WW foot with a high arch and have had a real hard time finding a walking/running shoe that didn't cause my toes and top of my foot to fall asleep or that was too large in length to give me the width I needed. These shoes are perfect, they fit wonderfully, have great amount of toe room and fit great in length, too! They are also cute. I will be buying another pair for everyday use.

A Supporting Idea -
I was hesitant to order sneakers through the mail, but the free shipping and return policy made this a no-brainer. I have a wide foot and have had great difficulty finding sneakers and/or shoes that are truly comfortable throughout the day. These fit the bill in every way. They are lightweight, supportive and do not bind or hurt in any area of my foot. I ordered a 6.5, wide width (w) but they were too short. I then reordered a 7 w which fit perfectly. I sent the first pair back by simply printing a return label off the site and bringing them to a UPS store, who returned them free of charge. I had my new pair of sneakers in 48 hours. It was truly a pleasure to deal with Zappos and I can't imagine going searching for sneakers ever again. Another wonderful feature is the selection available and the descriptions and characteristics listed for each pair. Made shopping both informative and a pleasure. Thanks for making shopping for hard to find sneakers a pleasure.

Got rid of shin splints!
I found this shoe on a website that said is great for relieving shin splints. I've been suffering from shin splints for a couple of months because I just got a dog that needs to be walked/run for at least 3 miles. I couldn't really take the 5 - 7 days to rest my legs because she NEEDS to be walked! Not to mention I made sure to do stretching after every jaunt.
So, I bought these hoping that my problem was muscular. Now I have absolutely no pain! I made sure that the first week I had these, I only walked in them. Then I slowly got back into a running/jogging routine, and I'm completely pain free! And they never gave me blisters, which is a major bonus.

Life Saver -
One year ago I was diagnosed with OA in my feet. I had an incredibly difficult time finding a shoe that fit properly due to my OA and wide feet. This is one of the few New Balance shoes that have a wider Last, (which happens to be the area of my foot that I had trouble accommodating). The WR882 is hands down the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. It fits great, it's provides the support and cushioning that I needed. I also appreciate how cute the shoe is since I am in my 20's and kept having shoes suggested to me of the flesh colored variety that looked more suitable for my grandparents crowd.

Like walking on air...
My husband discovered these shoes a couple of years ago and loves them. Following recent hip replacement surgery, I needed shoes that would cushion me on the sidewalks of NYC and discovered that there is a women's 882, which has turned out to be a great shoe for me. I might wish for more conservative colors, but otherwise they are great!

This is one of the few NB shoes that has all the features I wanted - on the SL2 last, it has the wide and deep toe box, comes in 2E, but isn't a heavy walking shoe.

Walking shoes -
I was just diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and told to start walking. I looked for shoes that were wide for my feet and these are extremely comfortable.

Great Shoe -
This is my 3rd pair of this shoe and have found it consistent with each purchase. It is comfortable in all settings including hiking and walking - great sole grip. I have bad knees even after surgery and these shoes are really supportive.

Not a Pretty Shoe -
This shoe is ugly. I know, it's just a sneaker but it's too orthopedic looking for me, not to mention that it makes my feet look huge. And I don't have big feet. I really can't comment on the fit, comfort, or support as I didn't have them on long enough to find out. Might be good for running, but it's too unattractive to wear for just "running around". Thanks Zappos for your excellent customer service -- I would not shop here if not for the free shipping -- both directions.

Roomy toe box -
Originally I ordered other New Balance. It was 2E but they were narrow on the toes so I exchanged and got this one. My feet are wide and square (my toes are all long except pinkie toes). WR882 has roomy toe box I am very happy. Finally I can wiggle my toes in shoes. I ordered another pair.

The Best Wide Walker Ever -
This was my first New Balance. I have an EE width and Zappos has always been my choice for shoes. This shoe fit exactly as I had hoped. A wide shoe box, with good support. I recommend it and will buy another. The color is great, a deep cranberry.

NB WR882 -
I ordered this shoe as a replacement for my beloved NB766s of a couple of years ago, which were used for walking. The current model, the 768, is now SL-1 lasted and too wide in the heel for me to use as a walking shoe any longer. I had my doubts about the fit of the 768, but tried a pair and wound up with blisters, so those are used just for weight training. For walking, I looked for a neutral SL-2 lasted New Balance running shoe. In the 882, the toe box is wide enough and the heel fits correctly; no more blisters. New Balance says that this shoe runs true to size and to order your regular athletic shoe size, so I ordered it in a 9W, the same size as the 766 because New Balance running shoes tend to run at least a half-size small on me no matter what they say about the sizing. This shoe comes up higher on my Achilles tendon than the 766, but I quickly got used to it. There is plenty of mesh for good ventilation. The cranberry red and silver gray color scheme happens to match my workout clothes. And even though this is a shoe with a roomy toe box in a wide width, it somehow looks streamlined rather than clunky. My only complaint is that this shoe needs a cushioning insole - so did the 766 - because theres not enough cushioning in the shoes own insole. I wish I had thought of this when I ordered the shoe, I would have ordered insoles at the same time.

The widest sneaker I've ever worn!!
I ordered a 7 1/2 wide, on the recommendations for this specific shoe. I had to send it back for a 7 wide, and probably could've worn a 6 1/2 wide. It's the widest shoe I've ever worn, which is great, but it's actually a bit too wide, especially in the heel area. My feet slide around too much, and even though I didn't, I should've sent them back for the 6 1/2, my mistake. Don't order it too big!!!

3rd pair of new balance tennis shoes -
I think that these run a tiny bit short so I had to and 1/2 size up to make them fit comfortably. These shoes hold up very well - the last pair lasted 2 years.

Great shoe, great place to shop!
After a long search for a shoe my finicky feet would like, I finally found this one. Needed to get 1/2 size larger and wider width too, but once that, they're very comfortable and gives a lot of cushion when walking. I tried 6 other times to get the right one, and each time Zappos processed the credit - no problem at all. Thank you Zappos!

No more black toes!
I have a medium-to-high arch, wide forefoot, narrow heel, and a neutral foot. For years I've tried shoe after shoe looking for a runner that wouldn't give me blistered and bloody toes due to a narrow or shallow toe box. I finally realized that I needed an SL-2 lasted shoe for my type of foot. This particular neutral SL-2 shoe is the most comfortable I've ever worn. I've now bought 3 pairs and will be back for more as I wear them out. If you have a forefoot that requires a shoe with a lot of "depth", I definitely recommend this shoe. I'm so glad that New Balance makes it so easy to identify the lasts of their shoe. I wish other shoe manufacturers would do the same, but until then, I'll be buying NB shoes.

I've been wearing Nike and Ryka shoes for the last few years, but none of them are as good as this. I have high arches, a suppination problem, and I'm very heavy. This was my 2nd attempt at choosing an all purpose shoe. I made the mistake of buying a half size larger as recommended. When I returned the shoe, I chose this model instead of my first choice. I'm not a runner, I chose this for work and exercise. This shoe has really been great. My sciatica problems, knee pain, and foot cramps have all but ended. I wish I had heard of neutral cushioning years ago. It may have made a difference in my previous failed attempts at exercise.

The narrow really is narrow!
This shoe runs a half size small in comparison to street shoes. I normally wear an 8 1/2, but need a 9 in this. I have very narrow feet with narrow heels and a high arch. I wear fairly thick socks with them and they are narrow enough even though I usually wear a AAA. This is the only shoe I can wear for hours at a time without torture. I am out walking the dog now and could never do that before due to foot pain. I do not pronate, I supinate. So this is great for the person who rolls in instead of out. I do have to add my own arch supports because this shoe is very flat inside. My only complaint is the color. It stands out too much with the bright red. I wish they would have gone with a more subtle gray or white/gray combination. This shoe is very lightweight with good ventilation. I am on my second pair and won't hesitate to buy it again.

Perfect -
This shoe is a dream on the feet. Felt great right out of the box. No break in period at all. Nice size toe box to ensure no cramped toes during walking/jogging. Correctly sized. Mesh allows for air circulation. On top of all this, it's a VERY good looking athletic shoe. I highly recommend this shoe to anybody that wants cushion and comfort.

 | | Thank you so much for the shipping upgrade. You really have no idea what it means to me. My toddler is having a tough time transitioning to a new building and classroom at his preschool. In his new class, everyone wears slippers. The school requires that the slippers be plain and without "characters." I was having a heck of a time trying to find nice slippers in the middle of August in Montgomery, Alabama. The quicker the slippers get here, the easier the transition will be for my toddler. Thanks so much. | | ~ Wynn A., August 11 2008
