I love the style and my color choice. With the welly socks inside the boots, they are not easy to pull off. In terms of comfort, they are a little bit stiff in the footbed. In terms of keeping my feet dry in the pouring rain and walking through puddles, they are awesome!

Love! Great for skinny calves and they are tall rain boots! Advice: 1) These may be 1 size too big for you or they may not be. My advice is to order both your normal size and one size down (unless you're a half size, order the size up and size down) because Zappos provides free shipping both ways. I'd also say go ahead and order some hunter liners to ensure your boot is good fit if you want to wear the liners from time to time. This should all save you some trouble. I'm about to buy my normal size to compare because I may want to wear the hunter liners. 2) If you can, buy when the temperature outside isn't crazy hot. I ordered a pair in the summer and mine had all that wax stuff released and they looked bad so I never wore them, but held on to them because I wasn't sure. I ordered some two days ago and they are great looking; no wax released and no dullness. 3) The original hunters are a matte color. If you want the glossy look, order the original gloss hunters (at the moment, I can't decide which to keep!). 4) Colors: merlot is a brownish red; the aubergine is a dark deep purple (I also cannot decide between the aubergine or black!). And thank you Zappos for providing me great service. I feel bad that I have to return some of the hunters I've bought because I wasn't sure on the color or size. It all means I keep Zappos in mind when shopping for shoes.

Love 'em! Receive so many compliments. My advice is to order the original not the Huntress and the original is a little higher and, on me, they are a little wider. First I ordered the Huntress and and I sent them back because they were a little narrow on the upper part of the calf. They'll last forever, too. Worth every penny.

I was recommended to this brand by my sister. As I, generally speaking, know nothing about anything related to clothing or fashion, I took her word for it. And I\'m glad I did. I love them! They\'re very comfortable, and well made. I really have no complaints!

I have wanted these boots forever and finally broke down and got a pair. I am so glad I did, I love them! I want it to rain everyday! I read that other people got a size up and so I ordered two sizes to be safe. However I wear a size 8 and it fit perfectly.

I love these boots! I was nervous at first that they wouldn\'t fit around my calves, but I can tuck in my jeans and leggings without a problem. I ordered half a size down (8 from an 8.5) and they fit me perfectly. These are adorable, comfortable, and extremely waterproof. I look for puddles to walk through when I\'m wearing them. Great purchase, and I\'m sure I\'ll wear these for years to come.

I am absolutely in LOVE with my rain boots, I want to wear them even when it's not raining! I ordered a size smaller than what I usually wear and they fit perfectly. I would recommend these rain boots to anyone.

I walked 3 miles in them today to test them out before it starts raining. They were great. I wasn\'t slopping around a lot or swimming in them as they were much more fitted to my legs and feet than I expected. Now I\'m looking forward to the rain! Stylish boots too. Happy to have found these!

Love my rubber boots! I feel like I made an investment, and I won't have to replace these due to leaks, style or versatility. I normally wear a size 7 1/2, but I followed previous reviewers instructions and purchased the converted 1/2 size down. They fit perfectly even with a heavier sock. Although I believe in their sturdiness, I added an arch support for my high arches since I plan to be walking about 1 mile at a time to/from a train.

Hunter Original Boots in Black: Oh, how I wanted these to fit! They are so nice! Believe me, if they weren't quite so snug I would be keeping them, but they hug the top of my calf just enough to bug me a bit and although I have tried them on multiple times now, I just can't get over the feeling that I don't have enough wiggle room up there! It's a shame, since they fit perfectly otherwise. I am debating ordering the Huntress instead, but in the meantime, these are going to have to go back. I am sad about that, but at least Zappos great return policy will make it less painful for me! Oh, and by the way, I also ordered the shorter lace-up Hunters in Green, and it's love! I am keeping those. They fit perfectly, and I get compliments every time I wear them!

My Hunter boots are probably one of the best purchases I've made in the last several months. I recently moved back to the East Coast and got tired of going out in the rain and the hem of my jeans getting wet when walking to my car, not to mention cold feet, and jumping over puddles. Now I almost feel a little happier when it's rainy out because I just pull on my Hunters, tuck my pants in, and off I go, large puddles are no problem. They are also fantastic for walking through muddy or mushy areas in the yard if I need to take out the trash or do outside chores in the rain. I got them in classic black, and they look great with everything. I think they do run about a half-size big, I am typically between a 7 1/2 and 8 and I wear the 38 (which I believe is a 7 in U.S. size). They also have a soft lining, which is nice. Love!

I totally recommend these boots to anyone! I was hesitant at first but when they arrived I was thrilled. They are any type of weather boots. I can't take them off they keep your feet so warm but at the same time do not make your feet sweat. I can't wait to get my second pair. I love them!

Hunter boots are a must have for rainy days and even in the snow. They are tough and hold up to wear and tear. Very comfortable fit and keeps your feet dry on the wettest days. They can get messy in the matt finish. If you want a shine to your boots, buy the glossy finish.

I've been lusting after these boots for a little over a year, and I just recently moved to a place that rains all winter, so I figured it was time to by them. They're great! The plastic is a bit strange in the ankle (when you walk it folds onto itself in a way I've never had happen before), but it's nothing annoying; I think it's just part of plastic rain boots. They run large, so I'm a 7 1/2 - 8 and I ordered a 7 and I'm perfectly happy with the sizing. Plus, there's plenty of room to tuck pants in, which is key.

I love these boots, they are very comfortable. I can even bike in them! They are not stiff, they move nicely with the movement of your feet (for rubber boots that is) and look great. They are a little tight around the top, and I have relatively thin calves. But overall, great purchase!

I am incredibly happy with these boots. I think they're especially fun when you buy the coordinating warm socks. I got the striped ones, and they make me happy. The shoes arrived quickly, too, and just in time for a rainy day.

I bought these boots because I just wanted a basic black pair of rainboots. The description says that the shaft is 16" but that really depends on where you measure it from. If you measure from the bottom of the boot heel, it is 16". If you measure from where the bottom of your heel starts, then it is a 14.5" shaft. I am 5'2" and it hits me right at the bottom of the knee cap, too long for someone as short as me. Other than that, it's a beautiful boot if you have legs long enough for it!

Love my new aubergine Hunter boots! They arrived at my home 2 days after I placed my order! The Aubergine is not as bright of purple as they look online. Honestly, that was a bit of a relief because the darker color is a very mature look. Now I'm just waiting for a rainy day!

Very happy with my black Hunter boots and the service in general and the efficient and quick shipping. I had ordered these boots from a store on Park Ave in NYC where I had tried the boots on for size and fit. And after putting down a deposit and waiting over a month, was told they were on back-order and so I canceled and ordered from Zappos. My only apprehension about ordering online was not being able to try the boots on, but that wasn't an issue for me.

I love my Aubergine Hunter Rain Boots! Can a rain boot be sexy? If so, this is the sexiest one out there. They look cute with everything. I wear a 7 1/2-8 and I got a size 8; they fit perfectly. I also recommend the fleece welly socks; they look great and make the boot much warmer on cold days. You won't regret this purchase!

These boots are awesome if you enjoy sloshing through puddles and muck. However, if you have average sized calves, they may cut off your circulation because apparently Hunter does not cater to the average female's calves that are not fat, just normal.

I bought my first Hunters several years ago, a pair of the bottle green color. I'm a women's 10.5, so the Hunter 10 fit perfectly. I took the plunge and ordered the aubergine in a 10, but Hunter's sizing must have changed in the last few years. The calf was tighter, and the footbed length was much shorter. They were less roomy all around. I'd like to try an 11, but Zappos doesn't stock the women's colors in that size.

These are the cutest boots! I bought fleece liners in red, blue and green, which completes the look. I would recommend the boots and the liners wholeheartedly.
