I have degenerative arthritis of both knees and because of other medical problems they hesitate to operate. I have injection every two months in my knees and take pain medications. I was unable to find a shoe that I could walk without pain until I ordered the New Balance WW901. I am able to walk more and I can sleep without waking up in pain. I am thankful I have found the right shoe for me.

Wonderful fit, quality and appearance - Every time I order from Zappos I think it just can't be as good as the previous time. But, each time it gets better. Immediate processing of the orders and delivery in one or two days (two days only if the order was being processed over the weekend). These shoes are so comfortable. I have always worn SAS shoes because of the fit in the toe area, so I was hesitant to try another brand. I am so glad I ordered these. I wear them every day for every occasion. Thank you Zappos for being such a wonderful, dependable company.

I am very pleased with these shoes. I looked everywhere for shoes that where wide enough for my daughter as she has very bad bunions due to a birth defect. When you say x-wide that's what you mean! Thanks!

I'm a wide and the fit seems true to size but my heel slips a little and the shoe is too chunky looking for me. It seems well made, though, and probably comfortable for walking.

I love this shoe - I work in a factory and am on my feet 8 hrs a day. On concrete to boot!!! These shoes have been great. I put different insoles in them for extra comfort. (Right over the original ones.) They are kind of ugly but have the wide toe I need. I wear the 2x width. No pinching my feet or toes anymore. I've even been wearing them till bedtime for a few nights with no discomfort. (I used to take my shoes off the minute I walked in the door.) I would purchase these shoes again. Also I had them on my doorstep within 24 hrs. Wow what a great company.

Horrible!
I have to say these are the worse pair of shoes I have ever tried on. They are stiff and don't give at all. They fit OK, but they are so stiff it's like wearing wooden shoes! They are pretty ugly, too, and I'm not that fussy. I'm sorry I was too lazy to return them. They'll probably go to Goodwill.

Great work shoe! My job requires a lot of standing and I must wear closed in shoes. These are perfect for this if not that stylish. I usually take a wide width shoe but had to return them and order a medium. I've worn them only once but they are very comfortable, even at the end of the day.

Not overly impressed -
After reading all the reviews I was very excited to receive this shoe, but I have to tell you I'm not overly impressed. The look is ok, kind of bulky in a cool way, but that's fine. For a shoe this price, I'd expect extreme comfort and I'm just not finding it. I already wore them a few times to work so can't exchange them, but I'm truly thinking of writing New Balance. As to the sole and insides, I feel no cushioning at all and it's a very stiff shoe. There is a lot of toe room though. I just expected a lot more and wouldn't have spent $94 for them, after having worn them. Also, I tend to walk on the outsides on my feet slightly and after two wearings, I can look at the back of these heels and they have already sagged. I thought NB has built-in technology to prevent that.

A Shoe Fit -
As Cinderella's wicked step-sister, I have a difficult time finding a comfortable shoe (wide feet, high arch). New Balance has come through again - I can go to the ball again -even if they are little casual with my ball gown they are at least a good fit and comfortable. Thanks Zappos and New Balance for providing a shoe for the rest of us.

Ugly but great for walking -
The brown version of this shoe is truly homely, but it provides great support and comfort for walking on concrete and other poor surfaces. The expanded toe box looks awful, but provides the room most feet need when they're being stressed. A great commute shoe, but don't wear it in the office.

Big disappointment -
I had high hopes for this shoe. Not only does it run short at the big toe, it has next-to-no arch support and doesn't have quality worth its price. It looks cheap. Back to the search...and thank God for Zappos' return policy.

Nice shoe but...
This is a nice shoe but it has a stiff heel that gave me blisters, I have purchased shoes that fit like a glove and do not hurt the feet when you first wear the shoes. I did purchase these as a walking shoe but until I break these in this will not happen.

I wanted another pair of New Balance but in black, and these fit the bill. I had a knee replacement and need good shoes -- NB are the ones. I like these because of the wide toe area -- no squished toes in these shoes!! Nice! No need to break them in either.

Love my NB walking shoes -
The very first time I wore these shoes was to a large museum where I was on my feet all day long. They never required one minute of breaking in. They were comfortable from the time I put them on til I took them off! I love Zappos service, return policy, shipping made easy and shoes that fit!

I had been searching for an everyday shoe and this one is perfect. They were comfortable from the moment I put them on and I can wear them all day with no problems. I love New Balance...this is the third pair I've purchased and the only brand I've found that don't ever hurt my feet. I was also amazed and very impressed with Zappos! I ordered these shoes around 6pm on a Thursday and had them less than 24 hours later! Zappos did a free shipping upgrade and so I expected them to arrive a day or two earlier. But less than 24 hours? Impressive!

A little clunky looking, but what it lacks in appearance, it more than makes up for in comfort. Although my teenage daughter thinks they are "cool looking," so what do I know? But they feel great and that's the #1 priority.

These shoes are very comfortable. And have excellent support. I wore a pair out in the heel, since September of 2007. The Dr said it was cause by the way my hips move when I walk. But they were so comfortable that I had to buy another pair. I walk a lot at work and use them when I exercise. The square toe help the width to fit perfect.

Could never find a shoe that allowed me to walk without having some pain during or before ending my walk...UNTIL NOW...lightweight and good cushion...I used to trail my husband and now he can't keep up with me...no more excuses for not walking with this shoe...I am 70 yrs and recently lost 60lbs and want to keep it off. Not like other SL2 New Balance Shoes -
I liked these shoes very much, but they will never fit me correctly. I am a long-time wearer of SL2 New Balance shoes, but these are way too wide in the heel for me. I tried to make them fit with heel grips, but they still slip.

Great Fit -
This shoe was comfortable from the moment I put it on. I have Morton's Neuroma and have difficulty finding comfortable shoes. They look a little clunky, but the SL2 last if perfect for my foot. I plan to order additional pairs in other colors. I walk 3-5 miles per day and these shoes required no break-in period. Very comfortable.
