Still on the road -
My husband has these shoes since 2007 and is still loving them! We had never heard of Red Wing Shoes before so he was extremely happy to find a brand which fits his flat feet and does not gap at the sides. The only comparable brand that he also buys now for the excellent fit are Cole Haan which cost double the price.

I was looking for comfortable slip-ons that could be worn with khaki slacks or cargo shorts. These were exactly what I was looking for with the exception of the color which I thought would be a little lighter. But overall a great shoe.

I love these boots - so comfortable! And not clunky-looking. I usually wear size 8.5, but I took the advice provided here, and the size 9 is perfect for me. Zappos service is amazingly awesome! I submitted my order late one evening, and free shipping put the boots on my doorstep just 17 hours later!

I was reluctant to try a slip on shoe since my feet are broad across the instep and more narrow in the heel. I usually get a lace up shoe to accommodate this problem, however, this shoe works very well for me. It not only fits well, but a good walking shoe, this is hard to find in a size 16M. Will be ordering another pair in a different color.

I waited two months before writing this review to be certain of the quality and fit. These are without a doubt the shoes I will be purchasing from now on. I walk two miles to my work daily and these have been great shoes. Don't try to walk through wet grass or damp areas, because they readily allow water to enter through the sewn welts. They are a bit tight to put my wide foot into, but once they are on...... they are great.

Buy these shoes. You will love them. Beats Timber...
and most tennis shoes, hands down. I am ordering my third pair. I wear them with orthotics for fantastic foot care.

These shoes stretch I bought a 9.5 EEEE. After 3 weeks they were too big. I replaced them with a size 9 EEEE. They fit so good I don’t want to take them off.

Red Wing Gables -
Great find for people with narrow feet. My husband typically cannot wear slip-on styles because of his narrow feet. We ordered the narrow width and they actually stay on his heels. The first time he tried them on they felt a little tight but broke in quickly. They are extremely comfortable for all day wear. He has the tan color which is a nice contrast from his typical brown shoes. We appreciate Zappos for narrow widths which we never find in stores.

Very Pleased!
Despite Zappos' excellent customer service and return policy, I'm always anxious about ordering shoes through the mail. In this case, however, I was delighted with the result. These shoes are comfortable right out of the box, fit perfectly and are very well constructed. My foot has a narrow heel and wide front, so finding shoes that fit and are comfortable can be a challenge. These work great.

Red Wing is the True Religion -
I bought some Clarks four years ago that look just like these. They lasted until now, but I can already tell the Red Wings are a superior shoe, they are holding up better in everyway. They're comfortable too.

Redwing Slip on shoe -
Great fit and comfortable. They are a bit tight to get on, but feel great once you get them on. Very good traction on slick surfaces and ice.
Have two pairs of these shoes and am very satisfied.

Bought a 2nd pair! So nice!
I have wide feet and need arch support- this shoe provides both! Very comfortable, and I am very picky. Exterior is very durable, and slip-on is easy. Make sure they are tight when you first get them or you will be swimming in them after a few weeks! They really loosen up. Good traction and looks great with jeans!

Comfort and function for a hard-to-fit foot -
Narrow shoes are a difficult thing to fine--especially in a stylish model. This one looks good as a casual shoe. The fit is good.
It can get a little damp in the shoe, as the synthetic liner neither absorbs nor ventilates.

For Feet That Need Pampering -
After standing on my feet at work, behind a service desk every day at work, it sure is nice to slip into these and wear them to and from college classes. Red Wing continues to make such wonderful footwear, that I've purchased three different Red Wings shoes (two pair that I'm already wearing at work), all approved by the American Podiatric Association, www.apma.org for feet that need some TLC.

These are just great!
This is a great shoe, it looks great and it feels great. I haven't yet found a shoe out there that meets this in comfort and quality. It's worth every penny. Try it, you'll love it.

Good looking shoe. Hot and lacks padding -
Overall this is an okay shoe. It doesn't seem to breathe well, so after a few hours of wearing them, my feet feel very hot. There also doesn't appear to be any padding in the heel, so my feet remind me of that after a few hours of use.

Excellent - extremely comfortable -
I routinely work 18-hour days during busy season, on my feet the whole time. There’s no way to make that feel good, but let me tell you, these shoes make a huge difference. extremely comfortable. People are right, they do run just a smidgin large. You may need to order a half size down, that is--if they make them (they don't make a size 14.5 for me!).

Red Wing Gables -
Nice fitting (after break-in). I walked quite a few miles sightseeing and they still felt great. I went from paved streets to woodlands and they breathe greatly. Very comfortable, I'm buying my Dad a pair for his Father's Day. I have the reddish ones and they go great with Khaki's or jeans.

High Instep - no way -
Although the quality and looks of the slip-on Gable is good, I could not get my foot into it because of my high instep.
I own several other Red Wing shoes so I was disappointed that my foot structure just couldn’t work for this shoe.

Fitting shoes for wide feet -
I had to look for about 26 web pages to find what I wanted in a shoe that would hopefully fit my wide feet. The Zappos company was fast service and little to no hassles after the lengthy search. Thanks to Zappos I am now fitted with a nice looking shoe from a well-known shoe brand and the pair will replace another brand I've used for many years and have worn out recently. Thank you.
