Couldn't find these shoes anywhere locally. My son wanted solid black skateboarding shoes from this manufacturer and they weren't available anywhere in our area. So, found them on Zappos.com and ordered them and within a couple of days they were on his feet. Couldn't ask for more. Very happy with the shoes and, of course, with Zappos for having them in stock and shipping them so fast!

Zappos is my new favorite place to shop for my kids. My 14 year old son looked online and found a lot of great shoes that he wanted to buy. He chose two pair of Emerica Laced in different colors and called to order them. The young lady on the telephone was so friendly and helpful that he was overwhelmed by her great service. He said that she was REALLY NICE. We received both pairs of shoes within a couple of days. He ended up only keeping the black pair and sending the other back. He loves the fit and the fabric. It is light weight and not bulky around the top. His pants fall nicely around the shoe instead of bunching up at the top, like they did on other shoes he tried that had a lot of padding. We called to get information on how to make a return and the staff was very helpful and informative. The return was processed within a week and the best part of all, there were no shipping charges for the return. A few days after we received the shoes, my son received a hand written thank you card in the mail from the young woman who had helped him place the order. It was so personal that she even wrote some helpful advice about starting high school. I love this company. They have a great selection of merchandise, ordering was simple, the prices are great, the shipping is free, the staff are knowledgable and friendly and we loved the whole experience. We will tell all of our friends about Zappos!

I got these shoes for the dress code at my private school. They are great and I would buy them again. The only problem is that the shoes get dusty often due to the material. Overall a great pair of shoes.

Emerica Laced - They're very comfortable shoes and give a lot of feeling and response while skating, but they seem to wear out quickly (I've only had them for a couple of days and they're wearing a little). They also feel half a size or maybe even a full size bigger than marked, and I'm just hoping they don't stretch out more. I agree, definitely wear socks because they'll hurt without, but overall, I really like these shoes; they look great and are great for skating.

Emerica Laced!
These are my favorite shoes I've ever had! They're extremely light and comfortable, and the design on the insole doesn't fade after wearing them! The only problem is that they felt a bit larger than other shoes the same size.

I got these Emerica Laced in black and they're way stylin' shoes, I haven't seen anyone here with shoes like them (without laces anyway) I don't wear them as my daily shoe just because I'm more about walking around in soft black moccasin like shoes when doing just real casual stuff, but when I wanna go and do some social stuff, I'd throw these bad boys on and call it good. They stay on pretty good (they didn't do half sizes and mine feel like they could be a half size smaller), but they feel comfortable on the foot, the back by your ankle is a little stiff and could do some scraping on your skin if you wore some short socks, but it's not too bad. Let's hear it for Zappos and their awesome service!

These were exactly what I expected, looked just like they were in the picture. But the light blue gets dirty very fast. Also, the material on the inside of the shoe did not hold up very well. But overall it is a nice relaxing shoe, but I wouldn’t recommend skating in them.

I read the reviews before I purchased the shoe and everyone is absolutely right! You HAVE to wear long socks!
I actually really like the shoe’s style and they're comfortable minus having to wear long socks. Next I'd order a wider shoe though.

This shoe is so awesome. I'm really use to wearing the Vans Authentic, and these are the closest to those I have ever had. I love these shoes. They feel true to size and width. Some of the other reviews on this shoe I read said that you can’t wear them with socks. That's not completely true. The black and white ones anyway feel great without socks. I would recommend this shoe to anyone that wants to try them. The only thing I don't like is that the tongue is held down; I like my tongues to be able to stand out more and sit on top of my pants.

This shoe is a very good flip shoe. If you can’t kickflip good, this is the shoe for you. I highly recommend this for every skater out there.

Ordered these for my teenage son. He likes the look and fit. But he is used to wearing a "no show" sock in the winter and had to go with an ankle sock since they rubbed his heel. Might not work if you are going sockless.

I'm a size 7.5 and waited for over a month for my size to come back in stock. I just received them-- love the look and the feel, but they're too big! The heel feels great but the toe box is just too long. I will definitely get them when the 7s restock. Though they look very similar to the Harness, Cavalry are much more comfortable and less loose in the heel.

Bought these shoes about two weeks ago, and absolutely love them. They are comfortable, easy to care for, and look great. They do get a little hot some times, but besides that they are good.

These shoes rock. They are grippy for skating and comfy with great board feel but they wear away fast so be sure to shoo go them and they will be fine. Also, as other people have said wear higher socks whey will irritate the back of your ankle and it hurts after a while

These shoes are great. They look awesome and feel great. The only problem is that before they were worn in, I got a blister on both of my big toes but it went away quick. Also DO NOT wear them with extremely short socks or no socks, they will really hurt.

I got these for my son, he picked them out online. He is an avid skater. He loves them, they look cool and he says they are one of the most comfortable skate shoes he has had (he has had many!)

Well, it’s an all right shoe for just hanging out and just wanting to chill. I wouldn’t suggest this shoe to anyone if they want a good slip-on classic look skate shoe. But don’t get me wrong, it is a good shoe but it doesn’t hug your foot like I was expecting it too. It does have a very good look, the green was a good choice, it’s brighter and more lively than it is in the picture, so that was a plus. One down side about this shoe is that it doesn’t have a non-slip heel, and the elastic isn’t at the top of the shoe like slip-on Vans, it’s more like in the middle of the shoe. But overall it’s an ok shoe.

Basic, but great shoe, only bad thing is the little bit of leather on the inside so you need kinda high socks, but other wise they’re great.

well just a good shoe all around I must admit breaking in is painful but after that its just comfort and easy skating loved the look durability and how they skated my favorite shoe not ganna lie. And I was stoked at how rad the shipping was.

Stylish, but not for skating -
Great looking, low profile Emerica shoe. Classically inspired design.
I would not recommend these if you plan to do tricks with them. They scuff up very easily. After a couple ollies/kickflips there is very visible wear/tear.
Great chill shoes.

I found these to be pretty uncomfortable. They have thinner insoles than Vans which makes them more desirable for skating but less so for walking around. I also found them to be slightly more durable than the Vans equivalent, but this comes at the price of stiffness which may induce blisters at first. Overall, I prefer my Vans to these when I want to wear thin, vulcanized shoes. I tend to like my insoles a little thicker but I must admit I'm that at 21 I'm older than the average skateboarder.

I like the shoes a lot, they look nice but aren't very comfortable, but I wasn't really expecting them to be just because they have basically no padding. But oh well, nice shoes.

Amazing shoe!
I love my laces. They look great, and feel great. I wear them with the laces because they fit better that way for me. Zappos has the fastest shipping! I'm about to purchase more laces (a different color of course). I love them. Probably my favorite shoes.

Super light -
Yea, this shoe is super light and thin. If you're gonna skate in these, you might as well get the suede ones for durability unless you prefer canvas, which rip when skated. I would seriously recommend putting the laces on if you're gonna get your regular shoes size, they slip around without the laces (for me). Lighter than the Vans Authentics, but the sole feels thicker. For my suede ones, when they're new, they sorta hurt the side of my feet. Maybe it’s too loose or the material is too rough. It’s not the best pair of shoes, but hey, when you're low on cash, you might as well...
