I got the old grasshoppers last year, the ones with the rasta colored strap, i loved them so much i bought the same shoe this year but in the new model, the shoe with the yellow ipath symbol and the red botoms, and i can say that im VERY dissapointed. the price of the shoe went up 20 dollars and the quality went DOWN! the new rubber they use is much softer and after skaing one day the sole is gone! very upset.

Durability -
I've had these shoes for five years, and they are still comfortable. The leather on the model I own is in great condition, all of the stitching is solid, and no holes or tears of any kind. Except for the sole. I wore the bottom out of these shoes, and it took me five years to do it. Great, great shoes.

When I got these shoes I was stoked. They were crazy comfy and pretty durable. It’s been like a year and a half now and they have held up well from skating in them all the time. The shearling ones with the fur make sick snow skating shoes because of how warm they are- gnarly shoes for skating/snow skating.

Very comfortable, just what I expected. Seem to be very well made. The fake sheepskin is very warm and unique.

AWSOME SHOES!!!!!!
This is my third pair of Ipaths Grasshoppers and each pair lives up the last ones. Very grippy, and the high/mid top I fell in love with and haven’t gone back to regular skate shoes yet. Of course it’s a gum sole, so it’s great but it will wear out in a couple months. Took me 3 and I had a blowout hole in the bottom on my left foot (I skate regular). Overall great shoes. Love the strap, love the little stash pocket (it’s not the most comfortable thing but it’s awesome).
My only complaint is I wish they would make some new models already!! =]

Good looking shoe...BAD QUALITY -
The shoes are really cool looking and I got a lot of compliments on them. I liked the fact that they were made of a sustainable material (hemp). But, after wearing them for about 3-4 months the upper sides of the shoe, right where the mid sole is, started to come apart. Also there is a rather large space of hemp missing on the toe of my shoe because I must have rubbed it against something. So they certainly aren't the most durable shoes. Final thought: DON'T STAND ON YOUR TOES...THE HEMP WILL RIP!

The Ipath Grasshoppers are really cool shoes and look very good, but do not get the burlap ones to skate with. I got the Combat Burlap ones for Christmas and after a few days, maybe about 20 kickflips, there was a large hole on the toe. Burlap does not make a good material for skating, so if you are planning on skating with these, you should get a different material.

The grasshopper is leaps and bounds ahead of other brands.
First of all, my son (15) loves these shoes. He pointed them out to me on the website, but the colors he wanted were not available in his size. After a little time had passed, I returned to the website and picked two different styles of my own for him, and when I surprised him with them, he was elated. However, one of the pairs, the Ipath Grasshopper White Fg Leather/Dk. Olive Suede 8 D - Medium, has a plastic piece on each side of the top of the laces, for the laces to feed through, and after only a few days, one of those plastic pieces broke. Regardless, the shoes are perfect for him, and he loves them.

17-year-old loves them -
My son loves these shoes. He was looking for a winter shoe that would keep his feet warm, but would still look great. These are the shoes. Comfortable? Amazingly so. He's sold. And of course, there is no greater place to shop on line than Zappos.

I would first off like to say the delivery was amazing. I got the shoes the very next day I ordered them! I was a bit thrown off by the extra set of shoes though. I'm still not sure if it was an accident or not.. but thank you I guess. Zappos seems to be pretty cool with me because I cant seem to part with the old IPaths and Zappos.com got them to me without question.

The end of an era: the Grasshopper -
I have been skating for 15 years - before it was cool. The Grasshopper was a great shoe for Ipath. The best bottom is the natural rubber; anything dyed on bottom started to run out fast and just didn’t have the same grippiness. This shoe is a little hot with the lining, but it’s the last of the Grasshoppers around and I’m happy to have it. So dumb of Ipath to not keep making a good staple.

My son just received this shoe and loves it. ONE BIG PROBLEM... because it's burlap, it has unraveled at the side of his foot. He is quite disappointed because he loves the look and feel of the shoe... is this something you've been having problems with?

Great shoes, highly recommend them -
After being ripped off by numerous DC shoes and their crappy soles and not being really impressed with the style of some Etnies shoes (although they are much better made than DC's), it's nice to find a skate shoe that has good style, good support, and good durability. They look really nice, breathe easy, have great support and the strap keeps the laces tied and the shoe tight.
My only complaints so far are that it took a couple days to break in the heel (so it wasn't digging into me) and I did have to throw in some gel supports because my job is pretty brutal on shoes (I don't know how long the sole would have lasted), but right now they feel great and are working out perfectly.

My Grandson got his wish!!
I have been purchasing shoes from Zappos.com for several years. I have never had any problem, so when my grandson wanted this Ipath shoes, and we could find them NOWHERE, I said to him let's go home and check Zappos.com. He is 13 and very skeptical when we found them, he said they will be out of them; imagine his surprise when we ordered on Sunday and he had them Tuesday!! He loves the shoes and he loves Zappos.com.

I am a nationally competitive slalom and downhill skateboard racer and to me Zappos are simply the ONLY shoe I skate in. The shoes hold up exceptionally well, the bottoms wear fairly well foot braking, have great grip on the board (critical to my type of skating), and fit well. I would recommend these especially to anyone who has a wider foot and found the Locust too narrow.
I wear orthotics in all my shoes and the Grasshoppers accommodate them well.

Ipath Grasshoppers -
Ipath Grasshoppers were the strongest skateboarding shoes I've ever had although the bottoms ripped and I had to shoe goo them. Other than that they look good with jeans but with shorts they give off a bulky look. If you want good kick flip shoes then get these. If you don't do tre flips then they will last even longer.

These shoes were comfortable, but the grip wore out in 1 week, and there were holes in the toe and I didn’t even skate in these. Basically anything bad that can happen did, so they weren’t that great of a shoe. I had massive holes in the soles and the toes.

 |  | Zappos rocks, you so made my nine year old son’s day. We went looking for new DC shoes last Sunday and spent 3 hours only to find out that his shoe size was 6.5 right between boy’s and men's. The stores had no selection in either. We were told by one salesperson that most boys skip that size so they don't carry many. He was very disappointed, I suggested ordering from you guys that night and he didn't want to wait for shipping. I told him Zappos was quick, but he wanted to try stores again, so we did on Tuesday evening and came home empty handed again. We got online, ordered a pair he liked (there were so many to chose from in the size we needed) at 9:30 that night. Of course he was all about when would they be here, again I told him how quick you are at shipping and that probably Thursday at the latest Friday. He came home from school on Wednesday and they were on the front porch. He was so happy!!! Loved the shoes and can't wait to order another pair. I have told other people how fast they got here and no one believes that is even possible. I don't know how you do it, but thanks so much. You're the best.
