Hi-Tec Kalahari -
I'm on my feet all day at work, sometimes 10 hour shifts, and finally I found a pair of shoes that my feet don't hurt in by the end of the day. They look great, too. They've gotten wet, muddy, and after wiping them after they were dry, they look like new. I only gave 4 stars for comfort because there is a slight rubbing on the upper ankles after hours of wearing. Can't wait to try hiking in them.

Hi-Tec Kalahari Mid -
I bought these to start hiking with my husband. Once again, Zappos sent them in lightening speed! They are pretty comfy, very sturdy. I've gone hiking 3 times, and the only complaint I have so far is a slight rubbing on the back of my ankle. Nothing major though. They were ready the first day...we hiked 5 miles and I thought they were great. A very good price too!
Other shoes recommended by reviewer: Dansko, Clarks, Dr. Martens (although none of these for hiking)

A good hiking shoe at a great price -
I don't hike all that much and I ran out of time to break this shoe in, but I was very happy with it. I only experienced one little pressure point on the inside of my left ankle.

Awesome Comfort and Support -
I purchased these boots to help stabilize my foot and ankle while recovering from a severe and painful sprain since they are designed to provide support for hikers over rough terrain. They look cool and perform beautifully. Best of all, wearing them is like having a wonderful all-day foot massage!

My Old Rockports were better -
Shoe is almost true to size. I ordered my normal size and my toe touches with thick socks on. It is a little wider than I like and I got a blister the first day I wore it on a 1 mile hike. I think they will break in but not 100% satisfied. They replace a pair of Rockport Hikers and those were great.

Hi-Tec hiking shoes -
I needed new shoes asap for a hike in the Redwood Forest. Took me about two days to feel oh! so comfy.
