Once you get used to the "negative heel" it's a great shoe. It feels really strange at first but I had a lot of heel pain (plantar fasciitis). I used the New Balance 1010 and the New Balance 1123 while I was in physical therapy, but after the pain left me I wore the Rocket and it was very comfortable. It actually causes you to use different muscles in your ankle because of the way it positions your foot. But there is no pressure on your heel, which is very nice. Takes a bit of getting used to but worth it!!! The look of the shoe is a bit strange, but the comfort makes it worth it! I do recommend this shoe! Get a size larger.

First of all, I am in no way a complainer! My outlook on everything is very sunny. Okay, I bought these shoes after having owned 3 other Earth type shoes and loved them. This was 7 months ago. They have already come apart where the sole and heel come together, and the cushioning totally collapsed, causing me an ankle injury and knee pain. I am going to drop a letter to the company, for this should not be at this price. Sorry guys, or gals rather. Please reconsider your choice.

I have wide feet and high arches. This shoe fit the best of all the Earth shoes I tried. It runs a half size small - really. Great walking shoes, I walk miles in them. Earth shoes take a bit of getting used to, the first day I walked my calves and legs were tired. No problems now. And they really do help with posture.

Awesome shoe - Totally comfortable, I had no break in time at all. I am mainly wearing these to work where I walk over 5 miles in a night. I did need a little higher sock than I normally wear. Other than that, they were perfect. These shoes also help keep my feet in align with walking properly. A great calf stretch. The best thing, my feet don't hurt!

I won't purchase any other sneaker but Earth from now on. Lightweight, great looking, and super comfortable. I just started wearing Earth about a month ago and I LOVE THEM! I have joint and back issues and I've noticed a difference - less pain/no pain and I know it's because of the Earth shoes, sandals, and sneakers I purchased from Zappos! I wear a 5 1/2, but always purchase a 6 in sneakers and did so with these.

My "Paul Bunion" says ahhhhhhhhhh -
I've been having trouble with bunions, mine was on top of the foot at the big toe joint. Try finding shoes that don't rub on that area!! It's impossible, until now. I can run in these and my feet aren't swelling afterwards. My hip is staying in alignment. I did take a 1/2 size smaller, usually 8.5, but they were huge. I still have a little extra room in the 8's, but 7.5 would be too short. Note, I have a friend that bought the blue & red model, they don't run as generous as the white & grey style. Happy Feet are productive feet. Thank you Earth shoes, I now own 3 pairs in less than 2 weeks time. I also have very high arches, so this shoe is great.

Awesome shoes for the health field - I'm a medical massage therapist and working 13 hours a day is no problem with my Earth shoes. My feet never hurt and the negative heel allows me to save my back by easily using correct body mechanics. I've recommended them to chronic pain clients and gone as far as to take my shoes off for them to try them on themselves! I’m ready to buy another pair in a different color!

Squeaky, but cute and practical - Overall these shoes are great, and I do feel like I get an extra good lower body work out when I wear these on long walks. The only problems are that the shoe is very 'squeaky' and that toe area is a bit cramped (in terms of height, not length - it's like my toes hit the top of the shoe more than usual). I think the squeaking is related to the vegan materials – they don't stretch as well as leather.

Most comfortable walking shoes ever!
I tend to be really picky about my walking shoes; if I don't choose wisely, my knees and back let me know about it. These shoes are so comfortable that I forgot that I had them on as soon as I put them on my feet. That is really unusual for me!
Would I buy them again? Yes.

Love my new pink and white rockets!
I had Earth shoes in the 70s and loved them. These are the first pair I have had since then. I had to wait for the new pink and white Rockets because they weren't out yet. Worth the wait. They are very comfortable. True to size.

Okay, but not for me.
I'm mixed about Earth shoes. They don't have many styles I'd consider "cute." The one I found, Earth Ivy, causes me pain in my knee when I wear them all day. Perhaps they're too heavy and/or the negative heal aggravates my old injury. I thought the Rocket might work out better, but it was tight and uncomfortable.

Could be wider, for me... wish Earth made shoes in a wide am trying them with very loosened laces; otherwise, VERY comfy, these Rockets are SO cushioned, you feel the bounce back with each step, and they have great arch support for my plantar fasciitis. My first foray into Earth shoes, feel it immediately in my calves, so I'll take it slow around the house; but hope to make these my Europe touring shoes.

Great arch support!
These shoes offer great arch support and take a little pressure off sore heels. I don't recommend them if you have knees that hyperextend. They DO NOT work with orthotics. I had a heel surgery ~1 1/2 yr. ago, and they don't bother that foot at all.

This shoe ROCKS! I ordered the white with red accents. I am a personal trainer and on my feet all day. Not only do I love the workout my calves are getting but they are by far incredibly comfortable! I have worked out in these shoes and I highly recommend these shoes for either a workout or for someone who is on their feet.

After my first pair of Earths, I systematically replaced every pair of shoes I own with Earth shoes. These are excellent running shoes, but be prepared to really work for it thanks to the incline.

Wow--what a leg workout!
I have been running on the treadmill in these shoes for a couple of weeks. I feel like my foot slides forward a bit and that puts the arch a bit off. But WOW... what a leg workout... you can feel these shoes all the way up the back of your leg!!! They are relatively lightweight and I enjoy running in their roomy toes. I have had a few compliments on how they look too... I chose the grey with orange. Also, I usually have to buy size 8 in other brand shoes... I purchase 7.5 in Earth's and this one feels a little bigger...probably the bigger toe box.

Very supportive shoes. I listened to other reviewers and ordered a half size larger. The shoes are a little large for me, but since they can be tied, I kept them. These shoes are stiff. I hope that they become more comfortable as I continue to wear them.

The Rocket took me around for 7 full days in Disney World. This shoe is amazing! My feet never hurt & were never tired. Everyone else in my family was complaining! Honestly, I am not a sneaker kind of gal... but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this shoe. I ordered the white. My daughter thought they were stylish & cool looking. You cannot go wrong with this athletic shoe.

An ok shoe -
This shoe takes some breaking in - b/c of the negative heel, the back of the shoe can dig into your Achilles tendon at first. Also, it is not attractive at all! The dark color makes it a bit better than the same shoe in white, but still not something I wear if I am not working out. Having said all of that, it has helped my knee pain (2 years post meniscus surgery), and you can feel the exercise in your calf muscles just walking.

Dog Walker Approved!
I can't tell you how excited I am to own these shoes! I walk dogs all day and needed a very comfortable pair of shoes. I couldn't have made a better investment in my health. I'm standing straighter, my shoulders are more relaxed, and the pain in the ball of my foot is nearly gone. For me, it took a few weeks of getting used to walking properly. The first week my feet and calves were stretching and sore (a GOOD sore) and my feet were cracking due to the realignment. It was like wearing my very own chiropractor. It's a work out to wear them and I love that I'm burning more calories now! I haven't jumped on the scale, but a handful of ppl have commented on how it looks like I've lost weight. Oh boy! =D I can't thank this company enough. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! =D

A lot of legwork!
I can definitely feel a difference fitness walking with these shoes and regular walking shoes. My legs are extra tired after a workout in them. The good thing is that they do provide good foot support and I didn't ever get one blister or sore spot even straight out of the box like I usually do with my walking shoes. I have had sore calves and ankles though. Not sure whether that's from the extra boost of the shoe or something else. They are a little boxy and feel a bit strange. Take a bit of time to get used to but are comfortable.

Comfort galore -
This is my second pair of Earth's Rocket in three months. It's a firm shoe and gives plenty of support everywhere.
Would like to see Earth make a hiking shoe and a gardening shoe as Earth is the only shoe I can wear, and of course I do a lot of hiking and gardening!
