I'm very happy with my Calypso shoes but I will say it looks as if they were originally brown and then changed to black. I am 78 yrs old with very narrow feet and the problem I have is with the heel section, which is too wide, so have to put heel pieces in and it makes them shorter but does help. I always have to pad forefoot for ball of foot but at least Calypso had a better foot padding than any dress shoe I have seen.

A little small, kinda clunky -
Seems about a half size small. Someone with a smaller, narrower foot could probably make these work, but they don't flatter my 8.5 WW feet! Seem well constructed and are comfortable.

Very cute and comfortable. I love the flower on the side and the heel is also very cute. I can't wear my orthotic with it, but the arch support in the shoe works for me.

I ordered aubergine suede. It was a great color. Sofft shoes are generally very comfortable to walk with except that they tend to be slightly tight overall. So be sure to order at least half size up if your feet have a slight higher arch. I felt both the strap and the toe part are tight for me. Unfortunately Zappos.com doesn't have 7 for aubergine. Will definitely buy it here when there is a 7. Got the shoes the next day. Love it!

Cute, but very narrow, short box in the toe area -
I am a Hair Stylist and I wanted a cute shoe to wear with my dresses (when I wear them due to lack of cute comfortable shoes on the market to wear with a dress). Well, they were good for an hour or so. My toes were so squished and rubbing on the front inside of shoe and I keep my toe nails really short, so they don't touch the shoes. I love them, but if Sofft is going to make comfort shoes, they should make square toed wider boxes on the shoe while keeping in style and also longer and wider boxes on the toe. Disappointed. I rarely wear them, they look brand new. Also, the way they design the inside of their shoes, where the leather breaks into the soft suede inside, that line irritates the foot bed thus making the shoe irritating. I hope they can make them better in the future. P.S. Order the wider and bigger shoe... wish I had sent them back.

I am a total pansy when it comes to foot pain and am gimping around after about an hour in normal heels. I was able to wear these shoes for ten hours with only minor discomfort toward the end of the day. They are way cute and my new favorite shoes. Hooray for Sofft!

I got a compliment on these shoes the very first day I wore them. They are so comfortable that it's hard to believe given how high they are.
I wear 7.5M and they fit fine.

Gorgeous--but they didn't fit!
These shoes are absolutely gorgeous--even more so in person than in photos. I drooled over them for weeks before finally deciding to take the plunge and order them.
I ordered a size 10 W, thinking based on other comments here that there was a good chance they'd fit. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed--my foot wouldn't even begin to slide inside, they were so narrow. There is no way this is a true wide, in my opinion.
Sofft, I wish you'd either offer WW sizes or really make your wides. ..wide.
It's SO hard to know if a shoe will work for you. Sometimes I wear a 10 regular width; sometimes I need a 10W, sometimes a 10 WW. So it's hard to say whether or not this would work for someone who knows they'll probably need a wide shoe. Problems with the shoes aside, I have nothing but good things to say about Zappos. Your customer service is outstanding, from live representatives on the phone to ordering off your website. And it's unbelievable how quickly the shoes arrive after you order them. I can't imagine shopping for shoes anywhere else. Thank you.

I read the reviews for this shoe before purchasing and laughed out loud when I finally purchased the shoe and was walking down a hall sounding like I had a peg leg! One reviewer said that one shoe sounded hollow while one was rubbery and silent! So did mine! It would be hard to believe that it is intentional, but one heel cap (left) was hard and shorter than the other! I will return and hope they both come back rubbery and silent, or take them to a shoe repair and have rubber heel caps put on. Otherwise! The shoe is terrific. Next time I will heed the reviews, but I would still have bought the shoe! The left shoe is hollow.

I absolutely love these shoes. They are not only super cute, but really comfortable. They look way better in person then they do online. I own them in chocolate brown suede... I get so many compliments every time I wear them. They've gotten me addicted to Sofft brand!

Best heels EVER!
I have owned a pair of these since they came out and I am buying several more pairs of shoes based on my experience with these fantastic heels. Sofft makes an excellent compromise between style and comfort in their heels. Since I bought this shoe, I have worn it into the GROUND - I am a singer and have to dress up at least once a week to perform. They weren't *extremely* durable, but suede usually isn't... mine are looking a little beat-up, but they're like a teddy bear that's been loved until he's threadbare! I had no trouble with sizing, but for people who do, I recommend shopping at a dept store or finding a local vendor who carries the brand. It does sound like the suede and smooth leather have different sizing issues - not all that surprising since suede has so much more give. I just bought SEVERAL more pairs of heels by Sofft. I think they're comparable in workmanship to Ecco or BeautiFeel for about half the price - and I absolutely love their styles. Softspots seem to have a similar last and design aesthetic, but I absolutely love the details on Sofft shoes and the great designs.

One of the best in ma chambre.
I fell in love with this shoe the minute I spotted it on here. It came with the usual laudable Zappos expedience and care, of course. In itself, it has a flavor optimistic and slightly sassy without a complete lack of dignity. Even after I have worn it something akin to 50 times, it has held up magnificently, and provides more comfort and stability than any other high-heel I ever have endured. This was the shoe that persuaded me to experiment with other high-heels, actually. This is a highly practicable shoe with additional flair, quite becoming to my feet and very likely to yours. I can not count how many times this shoe has gleaned compliments off both my peers and my older acquaintances alike. It might as well be a relic of the 30s, for its looks. Garnering the approval of both teenage girls and the not-so-young-except-at-heart, it has proven very versatile. I've found these very serviceable for swing-dancing, too, if you are so inclined.
I read that many people were displeased at the stiff leather. However, I have found this not to be a disadvantage, and after a very quick day or two of breaking-in the problem ceases to exist.
I enjoy these shoes immensely, and believe this trans-generational shoe both inspires a brilliant confidence and elevates one's poise.

Great look but poor fit -
I wear 11s; this 11 is long and loose, yet 10 is too small. My arches ached after wearing a few hours. Something is wrong with heel caps--one sounds like a wood block striking the floor, and the other one is rubbery and silent, so on hard floors I sound like I have a peg leg! The 2-1/4" heel is narrow and wobbly. Wonderful appearance, nice leather.

The leather is too stiff -
I ordered these from the photo and thought they looked adorable. The shoe is really pretty but it is a very rigid and structured shoe. If you don't want to break the leather in or have sensitive feet, this shoe will be a disappointment. I am sure if you can get them broken in without too many blisters, they would look fantastic. I returned them instead.

Comfort and style -
These are wonderful dress shoes. They have a heel, but you can walk in them with comfort. The toe box is nice and does not cramp your toes like some heels. Usually I wear a 7.5 and when I ordered that size they fit perfectly. They are nice and stylish.

Narrow was not narrow enough -
I have a narrow foot, and the narrow in this shoe was not even close to fitting me. It was way too wide at the ball of the foot and toe. It also seemed a half size too large. My experience was different from other reviewers' so I don't know if this only applies to the narrow size. Otherwise, the shoe was pretty, and the insole seemed supportive and soft.

The shoe is very attractive and very comfortable. I wear an 8AA and it fits appropriately. My only concern is that the strap, where the flower is rubs on my foot. I will take it to a shoemaker and see what can be done as the shoes are very comfortable and very attractive.

Loved it the moment I tried it on!
This is such a comfortable heel that I bought another pair in a different color. I walk a mile to work and back each day and I wore this shoe, right out of the box, without pain. One of my favorite shoes.

It was comfortable, fit my narrow heel perfectly (the rest of my foot is not narrow), and did not blister me at all - and I am a baby when it comes to heels! Definitely an investment.

Sofft Calypso is a great shoe that doesn't make my feet look bigger than they already are. Pretty shoes in size 12 are hard to find, and these are adorable. At first, they fit a bit tight on the top across the toes, but after a day of wear, my feet are not sore, so I think they are broken in fine. And Zappos service is wonderful again...I plan on buying many more shoes here...such fast shipping...you have made what used to be a dreadful experience so fun!
