First time Doc wearer -
This shoe looks great and feels great(with orthodics), but the soles are now smooth after less than six months of daily wear. Won't buy again.

These are my sixth pair of Docs over the years and they were easily the most comfortable pair right out of the box. The leather is so soft that they took no break-in at all. Amazingly comfortable. I wasn't sure whether I'd like this line of shoes which lack the traditional yellow stitching, but they actually still look like Docs… thanks to the soles. The black stitching actually works better at the office. I'm not sure if they'll last as long as my other Docs… time will tell, I guess.

Slightly narrower than expected -
Overall I like the shoe. It looks good, and would be very comfortable if it was a little wider. It is suitable for a business casual workplace or as casual wear. I wear orthodics and suspect they might be taking up a little extra room. The leather was fairly stiff when new, I am hoping some saddle soap will soften it up and maybe stretch the leather a little.

Exactly what I expected -
Exactly what I expected from my Doc's. The shoes fit great. What I can't get over is the service. I ordered them after 9pm on Tuesday and they were on my doorstep Wednesday after work. WOW, thanks Zappos. This was my first purchase but not my last.

Size was spot-on. I normally wear a US Mens size 10 1/2, and took a chance on ordering the size 10 instead of 11 after reading that the shoes seem to run about 1/2 size large.
The 10s were definitely size 10, and were too small. I called Zappos at about 7pm CDT, arranged for a free exchange, and my new size 11s were delivered the next day (even though they had indicated it would probably be on the 2nd day since I was calling so late).
The size 11 pair fit just fine. Kudos to Zappos for their site and service.

Great shoe if you like Dr. Martens -
I've worn Dr. Martens off and on for many years. I was looking for a shoe that could be worn with khaki's at the office and with jeans on the weekends. These shoes were the perfect match. They have a simple style that looks good.
The shoes look like the would be heavy, but they are not. They are very comfortable and I can wear them for hours at a time.
If you haven't worn a pair of Dr. Martens, you should know that they do take a little time to break in. But, once broken in, they will last for years.

Good pair of walking and working shoes. Even for where I am working at (Iraq) I know I would have to buy another pair within a year due to the work conditions out here, but if I were stateside these shoes would last for a long time.

Second choice, but very happy -
I had originally wanted wing tips, but the all black version was not available, so I decided to get these instead. I must say that while they are a little plain to look at, they feel great, and had less break-in time than my old wing tips. Highly Recommended.

Love My Doc's -
I love my new Doc Marten shoes.. I have been a long time customer of Doc's their shoes are so comfortable and durable.. they last for years on end, and continue to wear and look great. I would recommend Doc Martens to anyone who wants a long lasting highly comfortable and stylish shoe.

The "house slippers in disguise!" great pair of shoes!
I love these shoes! At almost $100.00 a pair, I was pretty nervous about making sure these shoes were the right fit, so I walked around my house in them with plastic bags tied to the shoes (so as not to void the return policy). For four hours I did stuff around the house and the shoes felt WONDERFUL! Now several weeks later, I still love them. They are as comfortable as they are attractive and I work and play in them all day! I bought two pairs and highly recommend them! They truly are house slippers in disguise! Shoes are like tires for your feet, you have to get the best!

You just can't beat a pair of Docs -
Great fit, comfort, looks, what more could you want? This shoe goes great whether dressed up or in jeans. (Might have more to do with their comfort rather than my fashion sense.) The one thing I really like is the no break-in period. They come ready to wear. And Zappos? Is there any place else to shop? I'm not a big shopper, so this great for me, I don't even think of going to a store to buy shoes. Their customer service is truly outstanding.

Good shoe. Comfortable, looks good. Watch the size - I wear a US 14 and ordered the 13 (based on recommendation) and it was still too big. Got the 12 and fits well.

Best...shoes...ever!
I've owned several pairs of Docs over the years, and these are the best. Superbly comfortable, incredibly stylish, I just can't say enough good things about these.

I wanted the Doc Marten look without the yellow lining around a big clunky sole...and that is exactly what I got. I've had the shoes now for two weeks and I am still surprised at the sole cushioning every time I slip my foot in. I've gotten Borns the last few times, but the quality dropped off just a bit so I tried these. Definitely recommended.

Black doc's for an office job -
Love the black stitching. Soft leather. Comfortable not too dressy. Also noticed that the tongue stays in place unlike my other docs I have purchased in the past.

Doc Martens Still Rock!
I've always loved the boots, but I needed shoes for work. These shoes were perfect for a business-casual environment. I first bought the black pair, which felt great from the start. A week later I bought the brown pair. I you love the boots, you'll love the shoes.

Great shoe, but sizing is misleading -
Very solid shoe as always with the various DM Gibson styles. The leather on this version is softer than other similar DM shoes. I've worn them once and they're already breaking in well. The sizing chart is not quite accurate though. The UK size seems to be more like 1.5 sizes smaller than the US size, not 1 size smaller like the chart says. After trying a larger size I ended up with UK size 8, which feels much closer to US 9.5, than US 9.0.

Durable, Comfortable, Stylish -
These are my first pair of Dr.Marten's shoes and I have only praises. The shoes require a few days break in period but after that, they feel great. I work as an engineer and as such, I am in and out of chemical, industrial, and outdoor environments all day. These shoes never reacted to any of the chemicals, never tore or punctured on grated floor, or were damaged by the elements. The only reason I am replacing them is because the soles have worn after 3 years of abuse. I am always on my feet and climbing ladders, walking, and crawling through tight spaces and I never ended up with sore feet, unlike my previous shoes. My employer has a business casual environment, and these fit the bill perfectly. My only minor complaint is that the shoes look a little old fashioned with some outfits. I say that these shoes are a great buy!

Sizing on the non-us sized shoes is tricky and I had a lot of problems with the Havana Joe, which was large in both size and width. So, I tried the dr. martens. I measure 8 1/2 us and the size 7 fits well. The size of the Dr. Martens was truer, the shoe was actually a lot more comfortable and costs less. Had a pair in my younger days and they lasted a long time.

Review of Dr. M. Saxon 4 Eye Shoe -
The shoe is very comfortable and provides ample cushion, the trademark of any Dr. M shoe as far as I am concerned. However, with the move to Asia for manufacturing, the shoe looks about six months old after wearing it for only one week. This is not good considering the shoe costs in excess of $93.00.
