I bought these only because my husband liked his, and I did NOT want to go to a store to try shoes on. They are PERFECT! I did not have to break them in, they were instantly comfortable. I have hiked long hikes in the mountains in them, shorter walks in town, and all in-between. They are lightweight and comfortable but provide good traction on mountain trails. I highly recommend them.

I'm 48 years old and have lower back pain especially if I am standing on my feet at work all day. My back pain remains almost non-existent when I wear these shoes they are really good support for my back. I've been fairly true to this brand since 2002. They are well made and last too. Since 2002 I am on my fourth pair. Thanks

Great Shoe!
I have worn the Lowa Tempest Lo for many years and this new style has not disappointed me. It is comfortable immediately! A fabulous shoe for hiking the hills of West Marin in any conditions.
Stable and reliable, just like my husband, my hiking buddy!

Every order I have placed with Zappos has been a good experience. Many times you upgrade the shipping on your own and I have the item overnight (as occurred with an order I placed yesterday - the item is out for delivery already!) I am in business and know that that is not something you have to do; so I just wanted to say thank you. It's little things like that that make a good service a great service.
