Great looking shoe, but hurts my feet. I have ortho problems, but all my other KC shoes feel good, but these I can't recommend and I have about 20 pair of KC shoes.

I purchased this shoe because it has a clean, simple, yet modern style. However, it was one of the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn and took a long time to break in. Come to think of it, I\'m not sure if the shoe or my feed did the breaking in! Additionally, Kenneth Cole Reaction shoes are very low quality. Within about four months the upper separated from the sole. Instead of sending an exact replacement, Kenneth Cole sent me a gift card for the current price (considerably lower than what I had paid) of the shoe since I no longer had the receipt. I subsequently purchased a pair of Kenneth Cole New York shoes thinking they would be higher quality. Nope! Same thing... upper separated from sole... sent back to Kenneth Cole... repaired and a month later same problem again!!! I discourage you from buying any Kenneth Cole shoes... they\'re all RUBBISH!

Very disappointed in this shoe. I've had them for about a year or so and the sole is peeling off the bottom. Seems like the Reaction line is getter cheaper and cheaper. I'll have to move up to the KC New York line which seems to still have good quality. It's too bad because they look great.

If you are looking for a simple, versatile shoe (especially in a cordovan color) these are fantastic shoes and beat everything else that I have seen, regardless of price point. Having said that, I agree with other reviewers that the leather takes a lot of time to break in (mine took a few weeks, maybe even a month to get comfortable). You can generally find them for an inexpensive price and I've worn them about 85% of work days for the last 20 months, so the bang for the buck is good. Just do not expect them to last you more than two years with heavy wear. I bought mine in 2007 to replace a similar (discontinued) pair of Kenneth Cole shoes and I am purchasing my second pair now because I just noticed that the leather is starting to fall apart at the sole. But I am really not looking forward to that breaking in period.

These are classic attractive black shoes. Fancy but not too fancy. The kind I cannot find anywhere in boulder. They have a very elegant flare at the bottom of the sole. Get some.

Great shoes. Form to your feet after a couple of wears. Very comfortable. Looks great with dress or casual clothes.

I'm not generally one of those shoe fanatic types but I've become a pretty big fan of KC Reaction shoes over the years because I think they are a solid value for the money. Particularly in brown leather these are a cut above others in this price range. They look nice and hold up well. Definitely worth the extra money versus some of the other lesser alternatives that may look comparable when viewing online. I've made the mistake of trying them. Save yourself the aggravation and buy these.

Like a few of the other reviewers, I have been most disappointed in this shoe. I bought a pair to replace the Market Share model which I have owned several pairs. This model is far inferior to the Market Share. It seems tighter that the size indicates and despite wearing frequently for several months, I still get blisters on my heel. The leather is of cheap quality and continually squeaks when walking. I'm not quite ready to give up on Kenneth Cole shoes, but the Simplicity is not recommended.

Most Disappointed I've ever been with a Shoe -
At first glance the shoe seemed acceptable. With that, I took it out of the box and put them on and threw the box away (completely my fault). I put them on for work the next day and realized I had just purchased the most uncomfortable shoe of my life. The heel support is terrible and gave me blisters. The leather it noticeably cheap. The style is decent at best. Overall, I would not recommend this shoe to anyone.

I have this shoe in cordovan; I bought it for more elsewhere this past summer. The cordovan was not such a great fit and I had to break them in. Not so with the black pair that I bought from Zappos! They were comfortable right out of the box! I spend quite a bit of time on my feet at work; I sell new homes for a living, so I need comfortable stylish shoes. These fit the bill remarkably well and I have put them in regular rotation. They have a pre-shined look that has a very nice patina. What I mean to say is that they don't look at all like patent leather; not that there is anything wrong with that! I have to say that I receive plenty of positive comments about the shoes from customers and associates. They are a fairly Alternative-Rock shoe if you want to compare them musically to a standard wing-tip which I would classify as Classic-Rock shoe, with a cap-toe being Hair-Bands.

Kenny Cole is the man!
Readers, a definitely great looking shoe for dress up and dress and dress down. Would recommend for the guy that's looking for shoe with class and good looks. The only drawback to the shoe is that it's just a little tight in the tongue area. However, I think when the shoe stretches, this will be relieved.

Had to send back because felt smaller than marked. A little narrow also. Definitely have to break in. The shoes also squeak when you walk in them. However, they are a good looking shoe. Not too bad after they are broken in.

Too Narrow. Poor Construction -
I do not have a very wide foot, but these shoes are too narrow. The pair I received was so narrow, they burst at the seams after 2 wears. They are not available in a wide with. Think twice before ordering these shoes.

Not sure at first but love them now -
It took a few days to break them in as I developed blisters on both heels the first time I wore them. After day 3 they are perfect. Despite the rough start these are extremely comfortable shoes and are exactly the style I like.

Simply the best....
...the shoes take a few days to break in, but are stylish and become quite comfortable...I have had to replace the first pair I purchased in less than a year because of a "side blow out" where some stitching came undone...but for the money I highly recommend this shoe.

Too small!
This is my fourth pair of Kenneth Cole shoes and they are not sized as labeled. They are at least a half size smaller than the label, which is disappointing especially when ordering shoes online, way too much of a hassle. I'll definitely think twice before ordering another pair of KC shoes.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: Any other Kenneth Cole shoes I've bought have been fine.

Ripped up my heels -
Within wearing it two minutes walking from my house, they immediately started to dig at both my heels and eventually ripped the skin off. My roommate tried them out the next night and could barley walk after 5 minutes. I ordered my regular size... Don't buy them.

This shoe looks very sharp. It’s not quite as comfortable as I might like but it’s not terrible. Overall a good shoe for the price I'd say.

Fell apart after 2 months of gentle wear -
Love how these shoes look on my husband, but he was very annoyed when the side came unstitched on his way to an important business dinner! He's not hard on shoes, and this has never happened to any other shoe in the 12 years we've been together. Thankfully, Zappos handled the issue rapidly with kudos to their *excellent* customer service reps. A replacement pair arrived quickly. Hoping the replacement pair holds up better than the first...

Stiff, narrow, but great looking. I ordered a half size smaller than normal and there was still room at the toe. These take significant wearing to break. They are good for casual office attire and look great with jeans. The bottoms are loud on hard surfaces. Overall I'm satisfied, mostly with the look, but there have got to be more comfortable shoes out there!

Squeaky -
Not sure why, but these shoes squeak after you wear them part of the day. There is a special comfort system in these shoes that appears to be the issue. Overall, the shoe is comfortable, but the squeaking has to go.
