As an avid hiker in the desert, I prefer open toed, sturdy sandals with traction and comfort. These shoes are wonderful; they meet all criteria for a great hiking shoe. The velcro straps adjust perfectly to the foot and they are light weight. I often marvel at the remnants of the sturdy, sandal style footwear the ancient Native people wore here in the Sonorran Desert and think if this would have been around in their day, they would have been incredibly happy.

I needed a sandal for use in a pool for a water exercise class. I needed something that left toes unbound, took the water and dried out, and wouldn't come off in the pool. So far, so good. Can't give 5 stars because I've just started using the sandals. But Zappos always gets 5 stars. At Zappos, I do not hesitate to buy shoes over the internet. It is easier to compare and contrast shoes and features than it is in a shoe store. Plus, Zappos pays the shipping to me and, if need be, the shipping back. How can I lose?

Not for high arches -
Since many very cushioned "comfort" shoes and sandals (like Tevas) hurt my feet due to the lack of support, I tried these shoes since the description said they had a hard plate in the sole. I found the sole of these shoes to be the perfect balance (for me!) between not-too-squishy yet not-too-hard. The textured sole felt a bit weird at first but my foot quickly got used to it. I have super high arches and very few shoes have enough support to even touch my arch; however, these sandals appeared to have very flat soles and I doubt they would provide any arch support even for normal feet. Unfortunately, the straps were not long enough for my very high instep -- I could fasten the velcro over my feet so I could technically still wear the sandals; however, the padded part of the strap only reached half-way across my foot since I had to wear the straps so loose, so it rubbed in a lot of places! I bought these to wear at a water park but knew they'd give me blisters very quickly so I will return them. I normally wear a 7-7.5 and ordered these in a 7, and the length and width were perfect. However, they are still worth a try for anyone with a normal to low arch and who wants a waterproof sandal that's a bit firmer than a Teva!

Fantastic! I was going to Arizona for vacation and my Nikes were worn out. I can't wear Tevas, they bother my feet. Time was running out and I couldn't find an equally friendly shoe. My feet are ultra sensitive. The shoe has to fit just so when I walk and hike, otherwise I get blisters everywhere. I ended up walking 9 miles in flip flops once. I looked at these on Zappos and took a chance. They are amazing. I never blistered! I hiked in Sedona and the Grand Canyon, through water, up and down hills and rocks. They are so light yet so supportive. I am really excited about them. The tread on the bottom is great for walking and hiking. If my feet are happy, I am happy.

OK for everyday -
I bought these after reading the reviews and thought that they would work for my trip to Disney World. At the end of the first day I had blisters on my big toes and my heels were burning. Should have socks on if you are going to be walking all day. Not for pounding the pavement.

I love this pair. It is perfect for people who walk a lot or even for a hike. I wear 8.5 I tried 9, but they were a little too big, I bought 8 and they were just right. It is a good pair of sport shoes. Service is great as usual, quick delivery, no hassle and easy return. Zappos makes shopping fun.

I bought a pair of these last summer, and I wear them every day. They are still in great shape, but I wanted a new pair. They are my favorite summer shoes. They're great on the beach, and for walking long distances.

Awesome shoe -
I needed a sandal that had all the required attributes comfort, arch support ect. I am a college student and on our campus buildings are space far apart and thru downtown area, and this shoe is the absolute best for the amount of walking I do. It has eliminated most pains in my shins and supported my ankles which is important for me... great shoe and I am buying my second pair ASAP....

Cute and comfortable -
These shoes are attractive and comfortable. Most athletic sandals look like hiking shoes. These sandals are supportive and good for long walks, yet they can be worn with dressed up sporty clothes.
