I got the La Sportiva Fireblade for trail running. I love them. They have good cushion, good protection from rocks under the sole and in front of the toes, and they fit great. They arrived on my doorstep the second day after I put my order in to Zappos, so I could not have asked for better service.

Excellent shoe! Low profile keeps you right on the ground and away from sprained ankles. Fit is like a sock, very comfortable with no pinch points. I put well over 300 miles on my last pair and they held up great. Highly recommended!

Great trail runner -
I purchased these shoes after they were recommended by my coach. From the start, they were very comfortable. The tongues slip to the side a little, but I haven't noticed a problem from that yet. I have about 200 miles on them. They are a little slick in mud with a clay base. I will purchase this shoe again.

La Sportiva Fireblade -
This is my second pair of these shoes; I would recommend buying at least one half size larger than normal. Got them in the orange and really like them, a good shoe for running on anything and dealing with Zappos is a real pleasure.

WOW Shoe -
I wore them for two short runs to break them in and ended up with a blister on my small toe. Then I wore them for a 50 mile trail run. The shoes had great support, very comfortable and the bottoms of my feet felt relatively good after the run. Great shoe.

Great trail shoe. Perfect for racing up to 100K. I have put close to 300 trail miles on these and they feel like new. They actually get more comfortable with age. Bomb-proof and solid. A great shoe! Order a half size up.

This is a great trail shoe! Very light, flexible, and protective. Just the right amount of everything and not too much of anything. It's not a super cushioned shoe, but adequate enough. I've ran on road, dirt trails, rocky trails and event hiked in the Rockies in these and they performed great. Low profile design helps with stability. The medial posting helps if you need some lateral and medial support from ankle rolling. Even though they are low profile, the addition of a rock shield keeps the sharps from poking through.

Satisfied -
I looked at (and tried) 2 other brands of trail shoes; these were the best. I'm a moderate pronator...these have just enough support and they are fairly light.

Just what I was looking for!
I have a lot of praise for these kicks! I look for lightweight shoes to do heavy trail miles in on various terrains. These shoes fit the bill. First run in them was 23 miles over dirt, gravel, mud & grass - they performed great! I am 5'08", 160lb, and I usually wear a 9.5 shoe. I bought these in a 10 (43 EUR) due to also having a pair of Slingshots that ran small. They fit perfectly and comfortably. I would (obviously) highly recommend them.

Love this shoe!
Just ran the Lean Horse 100 in the Fireblade; had a great run. Never had one shoe issue: great fit, great support and great comfort. They also perform well on much more rugged terrain. Just wish they made a road version of this shoe.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: The Inov8 Mudclaw is a great shoe for the muck and slippery trails.

La Sportiva Fireblades -
These are the best shoe I have used. Have tried other neutral shoes with my orthotics and none work as well. These are very light weight and comfortable. Uppers are padded, which increases the comfort and the tongue is designed in such a way as it never moves out of place. Laces never come untied. Have run Pikes Peak Marathon in them, and had no issues, even on the very rocky, technical sections.

A great shoe -
I have had these shoes for about 4 weeks now and still find them very comfortable. I have run on gravel trails through the woods, soft rubberized track, and worn them as an everyday shoe since then. I recently wore them for a 7 hour walk for Relay for Life and they are the only thing that kept me from crawling in the end. The heel fits really snug which takes some pain away from the ankles. Also, the arch support is still as good as new which some arches fall fast in running shoes. I will highly recommend this shoe.

La Sportiva Fireblade -
I was looking for a lightweight shoe for walking and running trails. I found it. The Fireblade's comfortable, provides flexible support on dirt, pine needles, gravel, or mud. Clean-up is easy; although the cleaner they are the uglier they look.

Good for some, but too minimalist for others -
Comfortable upper with bootie-like fit. Midsole is very, very firm. Not enough cushioning for me, even on semi-soft trails. Maybe Ok for short races. Im 150lbs, size 9.5, D.

 | | Dear Zappos, I am a very happy customer. I wanted to write and tell you HOW MUCH. I have spent thousands of dollars on shoes from Zappos online in the past few years. I live near an outlet and have only been there once. I buy shoes for everyone; me, my husband, my grandkids. I have NEVER had a bad experience at Zappos, never been refused wonderful and courteous service. There is no one out there in the world that I know of who has the customer service you do. It is unparalleled and the reason people come back and back. Zappos is successful in every way because of the customer service. Shoes can be bought anywhere. Customer happiness cannot. I have several stores and online sites that I will never shop at again because of customer service. I only give a place of business, including restaurants, one time to mess up. There are too many places to go. Thank you and I will continue to pass your name on to everyone I know. | | ~ Anne J., November 09 2009
