Pass please! Not durable.
I haven't even had these boots for a full year yet and I probably haven't worn them any more than 6-7 times (and only on campus, from class to class, so very light wear). YET, today, I discovered that the rubber has torn along the seam, exposing the lining - on the right boot. Previously when I wore these, it had seemed like my foot felt a bit wet, so I think the tear was there much earlier, but that I just never noticed until now. I've read the other comments - what's going on with only the right boot ripping? Comfort: warning, it's a sock-sucker and after it sucks your socks halfway down your feet, it'll start chafing your heels. Footbed itself is pretty comfortable and seems to be well-cushioned, though the sock-sucking aspect distracts from any other comfort of this shoe. Look: actually, I think this boot is too shiny, looks kind of dominatrix, which if you like, is fine, but I prefer something more matte. For me, awkward shaft height, too (5'3-5'4). In sum: be forewarned, your boot may or may not tear after a few uses, but why take the chance anyway?

College age daughter -
I bought these for my daughter who is a freshman in college. She does a lot of walking and I wanted her to have warm dry feet this fall and winter. She LOVES them. They look great, feel great, and she loves them.

Not worth it -
These boots looks so awesome, and for awhile are pretty great. Like most rainboots, they have no support and lead to tired feet... but that's not a big issue for me. BUT, I wore them for about four months and they are already full of rips and tears. I wasn't even hard on them! I would go to work and back in them a couple times a week, nothing too rough! Get something more durable.

Great, chic boot!
I absolutely love the look of this boot! I originally ordered a size 8 and ended up returning it (free of course - thanks Zappos!) for a size 7 which feels a little snug but much better than the 8. My only complaint is that the boot is a little tricky to pull up - like over jeans - but I manage just fine!

Poor quality -
Like many others, I was disappointed with the construction of this boot. I received the boots as a holiday gift and wore them, perhaps about a dozen times total, from January through early April of this year. Then I discovered a large tear right above the boot sole. Nordstrom offered to replace the boot but I would prefer something more durable, even for my casual usage.

Felt great but defective -
Great fit and look but defective seam on right-side boot - had to exchange after only a month and a half. Another tear occurred in the right-side boot once again in the exchanged pair so have given up on Sperry in this case. Zappos handled both incidences with great customer service, as always.

After little over one year of wear...
When I first got these boots in October/November 2006 I was extremely pleased with them--the lining made them perfect for wet winter days, they were just the right height, and fit well even with thick socks. However, they are now at a point where they are pretty much unusable. I'm disappointed that they didn't last a bit longer--I have had them over a year but it is not as though they were worn every day or even subjected to particularly harsh wear or conditions. Right now, my boots have several areas where the rubber has broken, and a couple of places where the shoe is coming apart from the sole, making leaks unavoidable. I guess I will be replacing them, and it won't be with another pair of Sperry Top-Sider's.

Poorly made -
I was surprised to read so many reviews from people who had the same problem I did. After about 2 weeks of wearing the rain boots (occasionally), a rip occurred in the right boot where the design meets the bottom. SO disappointed, especially with the reputation of the Sperry company. It's such a shame because they are incredibly cute and fit very well.

They ripped at the seam -
I had only been wearing the boots for about a month when I discovered a rip at the seam of the upper and rubber sole. It happened on a particularly rainy night and water starting seeping in really fast. Sooooo disappointing since the boots were otherwise comfortable and attractive easy to tuck my pant legs into.

Keeps out the spring rains -
I can splash through puddles with my toddler in these and my feet stay dry and warm. The roominess in the shaft means pants tuck in easily. However, I'm limited to wearing these with pants tucked in as the calves are so wide they look really strange under jeans. Next time I'd order boots with a side buckle so I could tighten them and have the option of not tucking in pants. These are so substantial, though, I probably won't need another pair of rain boots for years.

Disappointed -
Loved the look and comfort of this boot, however, they ended up getting a hole in the side of the boot after being worn only 2 times. They were either defective when I got them (didn't see the hole), or just of poor quality (weak) in that you cannot let the boot touch up against anything (such as a curb or rock) or will get a hole in them. I am sending them back.

Great waterproof boots -
I purchased these boots for snowy slush in Chicago. They are amazingly comfortable as well as being totally waterproof. I walk a lot and need arch support with good fitting shoes and these are perfect.

Great boots -
Really comfortable boots - will definitely keep your feet dry. I haven't had a chance to try them in really cold temps yet, but I'm hoping the fleece lining will provide some warmth as well. I only wish they were offered in half sizes - I normally wear a 7 1/2, so I ordered the 8 (thinking the 7 would probably be too small) and so they are a tad big. That's ok though - just means I can fit heavy socks under them if need be.

Cheap rubber layer tears -
Wore them maybe 6 times and they developed a tear from side to front. Very thin rubber layer over a felt (?) inner form. Very disappointed in the brand whose boat shoes I've worn for years.

Defective boots -
I ordered these boots a couple months ago, wore them a few times and noticed on the right shoe that the seam to the sole had ripped clean apart. I returned them to Zappos thinking I must have just received a dud pair. I decided to exchange them and was so excited to finally get them back. I received them last week and wore them once today and low and behold, the right shoe has a tear in the seam. I will be returning these and not reordering them again. I think twice is enough. Too bad since they were really cute and comfy.

I'm a 9.5 but I ordered a 10 and they fit with a medium weight cotton kneesock. My calf measures 17" at the widest, which is where the top of the boot reaches. Count on larger sizes having wider calf measurements. The boots seem taller than shown in the picture, but they will fit everyone differently depending on the length of your calf. (Tip: Measure 10" up from foot and then measure around calf.) After walking over two city miles in them (two days in a row), my right ankle rubbed a bit on the lower side, but otherwise, normal, intermittent use would be comfortable for me. Lining is warm, so I change into Crocs once in my office. But these boots are stylish and fantastic for chilly, watery curbs and puddles too deep for my Danskos! I also tried Huntresses and Tretorns, and decided these fit better and looked nicer.

I am sending them back after only two weeks because the rubber (on the inside of the foot) tore where it joins to the sole.

Cute but going back -
These boot are really cute, and I wished they would have worked out but I am fairly tall 5'9" and they hit me mid-calf which looked kind of odd. I think if you are shorter or have shorter legs they would look better. They just looked like they were about three or four inches too short.

These boots are fantastic. The are comfortable and fit well, originally I ordered Hunter's Wellies and found the foot bed was too large -- in addition to not having enough room in the calf. These boots are much more feminine in person than they are in the picture. Thank you Zappos for your wonderful customer service. Bring on the rain!!

Fell apart after one season -
I bought these boots last winter and wore them for the last couple of months. I pulled them out at the start of this winter and after a couple of wears, they developed cracks.

I finally found the perfect rainboots after ordering/returning more than 5 others. I'm between 5'3" and 5'4" and these boots come about 2-3" below my knee, which is the perfect height for me. I have athletic calves, so I have trouble finding boots in general, but I even have a little extra room to spare with these boots, which is pretty amazing. I wanted to get Hunters and tried the Argyll and Huntress (which have roomier shafts), but both were too roomy in the shaft and ankle... and too expensive. These boots don't feel like typical, stuffy rainboots... cushioned bottom, soft lining. I don't feel like I have weights wrapped around my feet (why I didn't like Tretorns Skerry-Vinters). I wish this company would just make these in more colors. I want a pair of white ones, too!

I have been looking for some work shoes for some time now when I decided that I would try online. I searched the type of shoe I wanted and your web site came up. I ordered the shoes (which I got at a great price) and I waited for the shoes to get to me through the mail. Imagine my surprise when I recieved my shoes in 2 days instead of 4! When I checked my email, you sent me an email stating that you upgraded my shoe order! I was already extremely happy about the price of the shoes, not having to pay for shipping and handling, and the short amount of time that I would have to wait for the shoes to get to me, but to have them get here in 2 days!
