This shoe is a wonderful summer sandal. The brown is particularly nice becsuse although it\'s a rich colour, it\'s sparkly and that adds some interest. The heel height is perfect for not too high, not too low wear. It\'s true to size and perfect in width being not too narrow and definitely not wide. In other words, it\'s a perfect medium width.

Wedgie -
Cute wedge, but particularly snug across the elastic vamp. Pliner always runs a little snug in the width for me, but even with the elastic, it was too tight.
The woven bamboo wedge is attractive and the elastic is quite functional, but not overly pretty.

I love Donald J Pliner shoes they are the most comfortable.
I have a pretty true size 10 foot. I wear a B or medium width. This shoe could be a very comfortable shoe if you have a narrower B or medium width. So here it is: it is cut exactly to size in length but the elastic mesh front feels extremely snug for a regular medium width if you are on the narrower side of medium but not narrow (A) this will work perfectly for you. The black shoe description states it is black metallic but the back strap is actually a steel gray metallic the front and bottom are true black. The expresso is a gorgeous expresso brown with bronze shimmers throughout the mesh with brushed goldish bronze on the raffia/straw. The beige is a golden beige more gold shimmers than the picture looks. I had this shoe in black several years ago and it is one of the most comfortable shoes ever. But the way it is cut now you need thinner feet. This is an all day shoe not just a one hour shoe!

This shoe fits!
I am very pleased with this pair of shoes. The shoes fit and look great. I have an extremely narrow foot with a high instep and they fit me perfectly. I was also amazed at the fast service. I ordered these shoes at 10:30 PM CDT and they arrived the next day around 5:00 PM. I have several pair of Donald J. Pliner shoes and they all seem to fit me. It's surprising to me.

Great look -- too narrow for my foot -
I LOVED the look of this shoe. BUT, however hard I tried to talk myself into keeping it, the footbed is too narrow for my foot (I wear an 8 1/2 M to a little wide) and the heel was too narrow as well -- thought that was a bit odd. For someone whose foot is narrower than mine, this would be a super shoe! Sadly, I returned it!

Very comfortable and stylish!
I recently broke my right ankle and needed shoes that I could wear on my good foot and eventually on my right foot once the swelling goes down. Not only were these Pliners comfortable with crutches, I received many compliments! While they are a pricey shoe, the quality and comfort are very worth the price. The gold mesh metallic is a great color for spring and the brown ones are wonderful too. I may buy them next time. Get them a 1/2 size larger; I'm usually a size 8 1/2 and had to get them in a size 9. They fit beautifully. Enjoy them!

Everyone needs this shoe.
It's that time of year - you still need long pants in the evening but, are tired of boots and closed toed shoes. Once again, Donald Pliner saves what could be a ho-hum shoe by adding a woven wedge. Once the hot weather is here this little baby will transition to pairing with all my summer dresses and capris.

I wish it were wider -
I essentially have a whole wardrobe of Pliners and find them comfy and stylish- I have a very wide forefoot and a narrow heel and they usually accommodate. I have 4 pairs of Caya and thought this would be the same and it was white!! hard to find- but in the rain my toes poke out the side slit and it now happens all the time- not real attractive and it hurts- very narrow- but good in the heel- oh well.

A Great Summer Shoe!
I really like how these shoes feel on my feet. They are a little too pointy, but for an espadrille type of shoe, they are quite comfortable. I wear a Narrow, and the elastic criss/cross styling and back strap keep them snug without being either too tight or too loose.

Narrower than they look!
I love Donald Pliner shoes and hoped these would fit, but I have a wide foot and they were too narrow for me. Too bad, cause they looked divine!

Donald J Pliner does it again with this shoe. Beautifully made and lovely on the foot, this shoe feels a bit narrower than other DJP models I own. The crossed straps are a bit stretchy, so the narrowness is not a problem on my "duck feet" (narrow heel, wide toe). And if you don't know already, Zappos is fabulous.

Love the shoe. The salesman was honest when I bought them and suggested 1/2 size larger than I normally wear. Good idea. The only complaint is that after only 1 wearing the side weaving is already becoming frayed. Will have to do some quick fix up. Any suggestions??

Not as comfortable as usual -
I own numerous pairs of Pliner shoes and these are beautiful but the least comfortable. They run VERY narrow. They are not comfortable for an all-day walking shoe.

My primary concern when purchasing shoes is comfort. This Donald J Pliner shoe is definitely comfortable. It is a shoe you can walk around in all day. I also think it is very attractive on the foot. I do not like to recommend shoes to anyone, I feel that shoes fit differently on different feet, but then again I feel these are worth a try.

Old fashioned modern look!
This shoe reminds me of older days but is in style right now. It is comfortable but does "flop" as you walk, my only complaint.

Good-looking shoe -
This is a really nice looking shoe and the platform makes walking more comfortable on the forefoot than with a regular heel but yet the added height of a heel is there. I tried them at home a couple of times and they seemed okay but when I wore them out for several hours my poor toes were crucified. The "stretch" fabric is stiff and doesn't really stretch much and is very uncomfortable if anybody has sensitive toes. I am hoping that time will soften them up.
