Great boots, fit well, sizing in my opinion right on. The only complaint I have is that the soles squeak when walking. It's a composite sole so I can't figure out where the noise is coming from.

I ordered these wonderful boots on Thursday morning at about 1:00am for my husband's birthday present. They arrived on Friday morning!! These are great work boots, with a comfortable sole. However, they do not run true to size. I exchanged them (assisted by Zappos' wonderful customer assistance) for a pair that was 1 1/2 sizes larger and 1 size wider which fit perfectly. I spoke to customer service on Friday evening and I received the exchange on Monday morning. Zappos is amazing!!!

What you see is what you get -
I just received these boots from Zappos in short order. They are exactly what is shown on line. ALL the reviewers' opinions are pretty much on the mark. I have a long narrow foot and when I put the boots on they felt great. I walked around the house and kept the boots on for several hours going up and down our stairs. I am a walker and normally wear shoes like New Balances and these boots are very comfortable in comparison and very good looking. Based on other shoes and boots I owned, these boots are going to wear very well. They are well built. They are not made for a wide foot. If you want to wear thick socks I would purchase a size larger or purchase a wicking sock. I will be wearing these boots at work, play and at the office. Zappos is a very good company. I won't hesitate to order from them again.

These are GOOD boots. They are unadorned and practical. I found mine to be a little LOOSE, but a half-size smaller would be too much, I think. Quality is good. Zappos customer service helped me find the right size.

The color of the boots is just dark enough. The leather has an "oiled" finish that will age perfectly.

Incredible?!?!
I never write reviews but, I just gotta this time. Not only did I drive all over LA looking for boots under 1000 dollars made to touch something other than Bentley peddles, but also, Zappos really does have every boot. Seems like it anyway.
So, I got home at 3pm, ordered up these Ariat Heritage Ropers thinking I would see them in a coupla days and the NEXT MORNING I was woke up at the crack of 11am by the UPS guy with the new boots?!?! So, see? Like 15 hours later I had my new boots? That plain never happens. Kudos to Zappos!
AND the boots are perfect. Besides takin' em on n off, they fit like gloves (foot gloves I guess) and seems like I have had em for 20 years. It's been 4 days. Glad I ordered the "wide" option for a more realistic fit and they sure look...well they look plain cool. I know I was the only cowboy at the wine bar last night and the boots kept me above the fray even if I didn't rope no heffers. Zappos and Ariat are an incredible combo!!!!!

Great Dude Ranch boots!!
My wife bought these for our dude ranch trip. Comfort was my main priority. Here I am at the dude ranch and these boots are perfect. These new boots look like they've been on the ranch for years. Highly recommend!

Can't kill 'em-
Got them February 2002. Wear them 1 to 4 times a week depending on season. Still strong. Soles and heels are near pristine. Great for stomping in mud. Clean up easy. Very comfortable for me. Probably need a new pair in another 3 years. Best money I ever spent.

When I received these boots, they did not look like what I thought they would look like. Although the online picture was accurate as to the appearance, it was not what I had in my mind. Still, they are good looking boots that fit perfectly and are very comfortable.

Ariat Heritage Roper review -
I ordered this boot for my son for Christmas. Not only was it an exceptional buy (and I adore Zappos for not charging shipping!) But it is also an exceptional quality, good-looking boot. I ordered a half-size larger than usual based on other reviews I read here before ordering. It was a great fit on my son and he said they were extremely comfortable to put right on and wear. He has bought Ariat boots before for himself, his wife and me, and we all love them. They do run a bit small and narrow. Incidentally, Customer Service and reliability on the part of Zappos are second to none!

Best boots for those with narrow heels & shallow instep.
I tried on four different brands of "Roper Boots"
and the only brand that fit my feet were the Ariats...they are apparently made on true combination lasts (even though the others say that
they are)-- combination last means having a wider forefoot than the heel. Also the instep is shallower so that my slim foot is held down to
the insole much better and my heel does not come up hardly at all when I walk. I love them!!

I never got the boot on. It was so narrow in the throat of the boot that I believe I would have needed two or more sizes larger than my foot to get in it. Very attractive well made upper. The sole was a bit more space age in appearance than I was prepared for. Return process worked fine.
