Tried and True -
I purchased a cheaper shoe that just wouldn't break in. I have a pair of Bostonian (worn out) from a department store. They have no break in period. I am a 10.5, the shoe I purchased from the Dept store was 11 so I went straight for it and they fit perfectly. I wear this shoe 3-4 days a week about 10 hours at a time and I have no problems at all.

Hard shoe -
Wow is this shoe hard to break in. I found this shoe to be higher than most at the ankle. Because the leather is stiff, it is often painful to walk. I have been wearing the shoes for a while to break them in, but this isn't easy because the leather is just really hard. They just don't soften and get comfortable like most shoes. The shoe also seems to come in a little small compared to most other brands.

I bought these shoes for my husband and he loves them. He usually has trouble finding comfortable shoes, however, these are perfect. I personally like the look and love the color.

Shoes for Prom -
I realized I needed to order my son some shoes, as we have a hard time finding size 14 in the stores. I ordered the Bostonian Akron's from Zappos.com and they came the very next day!! My son says they are very comfortable -- didn't bind or pinch and were nice for the walking and dancing he did that night. They looked very sharp with his suit. He also wears them to church and likes them a lot.

This model is comfortable from the moment it comes out of the box. There is no break-in period. The shoes are well constructed and designed. For the price, you could not ask for more.

The only dress shoe I'll ever buy -
This is THE classic business shoe. I don't care for wingtips -- I can't take the sole sticking way out. The lines of the Akron are so clean and conservative that they are stunning. I always buy a slightly larger shoe so I can put a thin Dr. Scholl's pad down inside the shoe. I can walk around all day in comfort. They changed the construction of the shoe a few years back, and there is a slight ridge in your instep. Maybe they added some padding to the heel, but they should have extended it all the way. I was able to get used to and comfortable with the new construction. I like to get 'wide' for comfort.

Great classic cap-toed shoe -
After the initial break-in period they are very comfortable. The cap toe breaks on a bad spot on my foot and rubbed a little the first day I wore them, but from that point on they were fine.

2nd pair -
I like these shoes so much I purchased a second pair after I could no longer "fix" the original pair. At roughly half the price of what I was paying for similar Florsheim shoes the Bostonian’s are quite the value. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a comfortable daily work shoe, business casual or business suit, you won't be disappointed. They do take a day or two to truly break-in in my opinion.

I was looking for an inexpensive, yet nice looking dress shoe. This was perfect. True to size and was pretty comfortable out of the box and as always, arrived the day after ordering. Only worn a few times so far, but no troubles walking through Manhattan. Zappos has been nothing but excellent. By far the best customer support (actually called the manufacturer of another shoe I wanted to find out if/when the style would be available again. They offered, I didn't even have to ask!) and service.

Classic and classy -
You can't go wrong with this shoe. The cap toe makes all the difference in styling. Make sure you have exactly the right size. This shoe resoles well, so you will have it for decades to come and it will still be in style.

2.5 yrs -
I had my last pair of these shoes for 2.5 yrs and wore them most days to work. I am inside and outside on pavement throughout the day. These shoes held up very well to the abuse I put them through. I had the soles caped twice and had 3 heels put on them before they split out where the cap toe is at. They are comfortable as can be for long term wearing (10.5 hr shifts). I will keep buying these because they hold up well.

Very nice shoe -
When I first got my pair, I was sure it was too big for me, but I just make sure to tie these very tightly and it works fine, even though my toes must be almost an inch from the end. It doesn't hug my feet like my other Bostonians yet, but it may in the future. This is a very nice shoe.
